- Kishan Kumar Khanna is a well-rate film actor who falls head over heels in love with young, beautiful and attractive Anuradha Saxena much to the dislikeness of her gangster brother who wastes no time in entrapping Kishan in a web of lies and deceits and gets him imprisoned for life. While in jail, Kishan reaches up with his long lost elder brother Karan who has been sentenced for life charged with murdering the Police Commissioner son, Vijay Sinha. Together they both plotted a scheme which will only benefit them in granting revenge from there perpetrators.
- Biology Professor Laxmi, in the company of nine of her students, and a convent nun, Sophia, go on a field trip in Kerala, Southern India. Upon arrival, they decide to stay there at a Public Rooming House, which also happens to house another group of students, this time all male, headed by Retired Colonel M.K. Das. After several misunderstandings both the groups compromise and decide to pass the rest of their temporary stay in peace. But fate has other plans for them, for Sophia is killed, apparently murdered by a zombie-like creature, dressed in black, who lives in a nearby grave-yard. Before the police and the others could react, a male student is killed. Three male students do encounter this creature, but it manages to over-power all three, and no amount of force or bullets can stop it. It's main motive seems to kill anyone who stands in it's way, including the police!
- Rana Vikram Singh (Amrish Puri) has two sons, police officer Rajesh (Feroz Khan) and fun-loving playboy Amar (Anil Kapoor). Rajesh has gone through the traumatic experience of losing the girl he loved (Sridevi), when she succumbed to drug addiction. He vows to fight this menace. An underworld kingpin Raja (Raza Murad) murders Rana's old friend, and his daughter Reshma (Dimple) takes shelter in Rana's house. Amar and Reshma fall in love, but evil Raja pursues her. Meanwhile, Rajesh is on the trail of the drug cartel that victimized his girlfriend.

- Hotel manager J.K. (Sanjeev Kumar) works there. One day, he bravely steps in to save Aarti, the drunken daughter of a politician (Suchitra Sen). Aarti and J.K. have a small ceremony to celebrate their marriage after falling in love. The married pair decides to separate after a few years because of several issues. Aarti and J.K. eventually cross paths again when she has achieved political success. Both of them sense a connection despite their distance, but Aarti is reluctant to speak up for fear of having her reputation ruined and endangering her profession. However, when the opposing party conducts a rally to disparage and humiliate Aarti Devi, When she gets there, she informs the populace and voters of her decision to leave her husband and family in order to serve this nation's citizens. The public respects her and is deeply moved by her voice and selflessness. J.K. arrives there as well and offers her support; she is overjoyed and moves on. She is elected and goes on to have a fulfilling life.
- Arjun Malvankar after his graduation thrives to get job. The corruption and injustice taking place in his community frustrates him to the extent of revolting with the help of some of his friends. This path of his gets him into serious problems with the law and some outrageous gangsters. He is then taken in by a politician named Shivkumar Chowgule; who not only has pity on him but offers him a job and encourages him. Situations take a different turn one morning engulfing Arjun's life into a world of lies, deceit, crime and politics.

- Karim Khan is employed as driver for a gangster named Don, who has an accident with his car, and asks Karim to take the blame for it for a hefty sum of cash, which Karim does so, and is imprisoned. But Don does not fulfill his promise, and as a result, Karim's wife, Razia, and new-born son are left destitute. Razia complains to Police Inspector Anwar, who arrests Don and holds him in prison, pending his trial in court. When Anwar finds out that his new-born son, Iqbal, is in need of a pace-maker, which he is unable to afford, he makes a compromise with Don, who lets him have one. Iqbal undergoes surgery and a pace-maker number 786, considered lucky in Islamic faith, is attached to his tiny heart. But Don and a prostitute by the name of Banoo have other plans for Anwar, which they carry out successfully, and abduct young Iqbal, who ends up growing on the streets as an orphan named Allah Rakha. Several years later, Allah Rakha has grown up, and is friendly with a prostitute named Rani, who happens to be the daughter of Banoo. When News-reporter decides to do TV report on Rani's life, she does not realize that she has opened up a Pandora's box, that will bring the past back to life, and expose her life to danger, deceit, and possible death.

What Savitri does not know is that Anil has hired Deepali to act as his fiancée, and that Deepali herself is not who she claims to be, and is actually in love with a local horse-riding peasant, Ajit, whose father was convicted of killing Savitri's husband, and soon Ajit himself will be arrested by the Police for having an affair and then killing a woman named Sita.

- Master Dinanath is an ex-freedom fighter. Bharati Nagar is ruled by four underworld dons, each representing a different Indian community. Dinanath persuades them to live in harmony and once they settle their differences, the four dons use Dinanath's stay in Bharat Nagar to cover up their own illegal activities. Fast Forward to 15 years later, the year is 1962. Dinanath's now grown-up son Raju turns out to be the opposite of his father by being drawn into the underworld, committing crimes to earn money with his father unaware of what he does. Raju starts working for Thakur Pratap Singh, unaware that Thakur had once kidnapped his mother and sister many years earlier which caused their separation. Will Raju find out what Thakur did to his family? Will Dinanath find out his son is not what he thinks he is? And will Dinanath ever find his wife and daughter again?
- Although India obtained freedom from the British in 1947, Goa and its territories are still ruled by the Portuguese. A group of revolutionaries want a free Goa and are thus wanted by the Portuguese administration. Among them are Purandare, Narvekar, and Dinanath, and when Dinanath's whereabouts are known to the police, he escapes with his young son Ramdas and goes to their hideout. With Purandare's assistance they manage to escape, but they're shot. A horrified Ramdas watches Purandare shoot his father dead, and this is how he starts hating revolutionaries. Ramdas changes his name to Ronnie, befriends a girl named Julie, and grows up taking up crime as his career. He soon prospers and lets the villagers also prosper with him. Then when the Police Commissioner is shot dead, Ronnie helps the authorities apprehend his killer, a young man named Shekhar. He is arrested, tried in Court, and sentenced to be hanged. At this point Ronnie finds out that the people he assisted in the past are all against him and sympathize with the revolutionaries. Furious, he grabs a gun to kill Shekar's parents--and finds out who they really are and why Purandare shot his dad.

- Renukadevi is widowed and the mother of a son named Ram. Her husband had indulged in all possible vices, and passed away unexpectedly. Her father-in-law, Rai, does not want Ram to repeat his father's mistakes, and teaches him all the positive values of the Hindu religion, in particular the contents of the Holy Book "Geeta". As a result, Ram refrains from all known vices, is an expert in yogic exercises, decides to live the life of a celibate, and refuses to marry anyone. When Rai passes away, Renuka asks Ram to fulfill his grandfather's last wishes, one of which was to get married. She even arranges his introduction to Aarti, an attractive young woman. But Ram is convinced that marriage is not for him. Renuka is overjoyed when her estranged brother, Gopinath, and his son, Rakesh, return from abroad. With their help she hopes to get Ram marries with Aarti. Then things get complicated when Rakesh falls in love with Aarti. Ram leaves town to attend to business, and circumstances propel Renuka to will her entire estate to Rakesh and change his name to Bharat, with the blessings of a renowned saint named Ishwar Baba. After this ceremony, the people around Renuka start showing their true colors, and after an open-palmed stinging slap from Aarti, Renuka realizes that her place in this house is now worse than that of a lowly servant. Renuka now finds out that Aarti, Gopinath, and Rakesh are not who they claim to be, but will this realization be enough to reverse the order of events, or does fate have something even worse in store for Renuka?
- Kedarnath is employed with a local clock/watch repair shop, owned by a parsimonious Adarshan Lala. Kedarnath goes out of his way to help a destitute woman, Maya, who husband is missing, with two daughters, Veena and Vidya. Kedarnath rents a room with them, writes letters to her on behalf of her husband, Pannalal, and even arranges the marriage of Veena with the son of Daulatram. When Maya tells him that she has no money to pay for the marriage expenses, he steals cash from his employer, and tells Maya that the money is from Pannalal. And all along telling Maya that he is a close friend of Pannalal, even though he has never met Pannalal, leave alone know him, making one think as to what devious secret Kedarnath is hiding, and what is the reason behind Pannalal's disappearance.
- Amrit's generosity and kindness initially lands him in the bad books of a dancer; then in prison; and then as false son-in-law of a very wealthy man.
- Rohit, Whiskey, and Kumar (Rajendra Kumar, Rajendra Nath, and Prem Chopra respectively) are childhood friends. Subsequently, he meets with her father (Raj Mehra) where they are properly introduced, and she too falls in love with him. Unknowingly, Kumar also sends his proposal for marriage to Neena, but Neena rejects it. Kumar is offended and shortly before the marriage of Neena and Rohit, molests Neena. Rohit and Kumar become enemies, have a fight and Kumar loses sight in his left eye. Feeling that she is not worthly of Rohit anymore, Neena refuses to marry Rohit. Will Rohit and Neena ever get together again? Will they continue to be haunted by Kumar?
- Deepak (Jeetendra) is a truck driver. One day he meets with haughty, snobbish, and popular singer, Asha. He assists her with her travel and the two become friends. Deepak loves Mala, introduces her to him mom, and soon they are married. Mala has eye problems, and eventually loses her sight. While travelling, Deepak has an accident and his body is nowhere to be found. Deepak's mom blames a pregnant Mala for this bad luck, and throws her out of the house. Mala gives birth to a baby girl, and both live a very poor and destitute life. Deepak has met with Asha several times, and would like to marry her. Asha would also like to marry Deepak. And then Asha finds out that Mala is still alive, and she must now decide to withhold that information from Deepak so she could marry him instead or tell him the truth and lose him forever.
- Thakur Jaswant Singh rules over the region with a iron hand. He has no pity or empathy for the poor, all he is interested in is their money, their women, and alcohol. After the passing away of his dad, he assumes total control over the region, and increases the taxes. One day while walking across the hallway, he trips over the wet floor, and falls down. He gets up angrily and assaults the old woman, Ramvati, who was washing the floor. His abuse is interrupted by the arrival of Ramvati's son, Jeeva, who intervenes. Jaswant is ready to shoot him down, but Jaswant's mom prevents him from doing so. Word gets around that Jeeva is in the bad books of the Thakur, and soon a number of people start consipiring against Jeeva. The next day Jeeva is summoned before the village council and asked to explain his involvement in the death of a cow. Jeeva has no satisfactory explanation, and he is asked to leave the village immediately with his mother. Jeeva refuses to do so, and is severely beaten, and thrown out. Shortly thereafter his mother passes away, and Jeeva decides to avenge her death by bringing about the downfall of Jaswant Singh. In order to do this, he becomes a dacait. Jeeva swears on the holy river Ganga to wipe out Jaswant Singh and his men, without knowing his decision will bring him into conflict with the police, and with the honest people from the very community he was exiled from.
- Kulwant Rai's horse carriage runs over a child, and as a result, she loses her vision. Years later she grows up to be beautiful girl namely, Neelu (Mumtaz), and Kulwant Rai's son, Sameer (Dharmendra) takes a fancy to her. This fancy turns to love, and he proposes to marry her. This proposal does not auger well with his mother, Rani Maa Rai (Veena), who wants her son to marry Jugnu (Yogeeta Bali), who is the daughter of her Diwan (Iftekhar), and both Rani Maa and Jugnu pressure and humiliate Neelu so that she can leave Sameer. Sameer's attempts to get Neelu her vision take root when he meets with eye specialist Dr. J.P. Tandon (Shatrughan Sinha). When Jugnu finds out about this, she concocts a devious plan that will get Neelu out of her way forever.
- Wealthy Jaishankar meets and falls in love with Aarti, successfully woos her and agrees to meet with her dad to discuss their marriage. On the way there he ironically runs over him, killing him instantly. Guilt-ridden, he attempts to make amends to look after Aarti, her brother, Pappu, and sister, Mala, but conceals the fact that he was responsible for their father's death. Things get worse after Aarti not only discovers the truth, but also witnesses him getting intimate with a cabaret dancer, Rita. Then Jaishankar is first disowned by his father after the family find out that he had sired a son from Rita, and then subsequently arrested by the Police for killing Rita.
- Ravi is an eligible bachelor, who lives with his mother. The whereabouts of his dad are unknown. He meets with beautiful Kanchan and both fall in love. But they face major hurdles, as Ravi soon finds out that he is the child of an unmarried lady and hence the marriage is called off.
- Sunil Mehta gets stuck in a giant ferris wheel with an attractive young woman all night due to power failure. He arrives home the next day, and meets a very suspicious wife, Geeta, who knows that he has been up to no good. She refuses to believe his story about the stalled ferris wheel, and he invents a story about spending the night with a fictitious friend named Champak Boomia. Geeta does not believe that he ever has a friend by that name, and decides to write to him to come and visit her. Sunil then convinces his friend, Amit Desai, to pretend that he is Champak, and thus convince Geeta that he was indeed telling the truth. Amit agrees to do so, and everything goes according to plan - until a real and amorous Champak Boomia shows up - resulting in hilarious chaos.
- Sandeep Anand is a wealthy industrialist. He runs an organization, and falls in love with one of his employees named Geeta, who comes from a lower middle class family, and wants to marry a man in the same class. Sandeep convinces her that he works for Mr. Anand, and both fall in love. When Geeta and her family find out that Sandeep has been lying to them, they have him arrested for impersonation. When Sandeep convinces the police that he is indeed the real Sandeep Anand, he is released. When Sandeep attempts to woo Geeta back, she will have nothing to do with him, as he lied to her. Sandeep will now have to prove his love for Geeta all over again.

Vimal frequently visit a courtesan. When Ashok goes to courtesan to bring home Vimal, Ashok finds that courtesan is none other than Ganga.
- Sunil is an army officer, and has had numerous affairs with a number of attractive young women. One day he meets with beautiful Anuradha, and falls in love with her. Anuradha too loves him, and she is introduced to his mom. Anuradha has another admirer in Ranjeet, who informs Sunil and his mom, that Anuradha is deceiving them, and is the mother of a baby boy. Sunil and his mother are shocked, and will have nothing to do with Anuradha. Then the child, in question, is kidnapped, and held for ransom. It is then Sunil comes to know the shocking truth behind the abduction, which will change his life forever.
- In Mumbai, Kusam and Vimal's arranged marriage fails as he only sees her as a mother. After their fathers' death, Vimal loves another woman. Kusam attempts divorce despite India's strict laws.
- Kulwant Rai is a prominent and wealthy businessman. He relies solely on his son, Rakesh, to run his business. His second son, Naresh, is a bit of a slacker, unreliable, and is born out of marriage with his second, wife, Shobha. When Sunderlal passes away suddenly, Shobha entrusts the entire business dealings on Rakesh, and has Naresh assist him. Naresh gambles, and even molests a woman employee, and is severely reprimanded by Rakesh. Naresh, and his maternal uncle, instigate Shobha against Rakesh, who humiliates him, and as a result Rakesh leaves the house. He takes up employment in the far regions of Himachal Pradesh, in Northern India, which includes the construction of a dam. This news does not auger well with the local tribesmen, and they warn and assault him, but Rakesh persists, and is able to convince the head of the tribe, Thakur, of his good intentions. Things take a turn for the worse, when the tribe finds out that Rakesh has been wooing one of their tribeswomen, namely the daughter Thakur, Parvati, and it is at this point that Rakesh must decide to continue his romance with Parvati, or give her up for his project.
- Mohan has abandoned his love, on the eve of his engagement. On the run, he turns into a safe-breaker and thief. Beimaan means untrustworthy. Mohan lives up to the moniker through his actions. In saving Meena from a bunch of thugs, her father, Thakur Ram Singh in gratitude, adopts the fugitive and calls him Lala, with affection. During a chance encounter with Seema, Mohan pretends to be someone else.Why did Mohan turn into a thief and safe breaker? The reasons involve two police officers, who are forced to make hard choices between their lives, their child's life and the call of duty.
- Rajjoo lives in a small village in rural India with her father Govindram. The peace in the village is shattered when a notorious thief, Hiralal, breaks out of prison and takes shelter in Govindram's house.

Seema is stunned and shocked when she sees Prem, for she recognizes him as the man who had raped her. Now Seema must decide to keep this terrible secret to herself and get married to Arun, or simply disappear from his life altogether.
- Rukmani gets married to Rana and faces endless abuse and beatings which do not end even when she gets pregnant. The Police arrest Rana for Robbery, try him in Court and sentence him to several years in prison, leaving Rukmani alone to give birth to a boy named Preetam, entrust him to the care of her brother, Thakur, and his wife, and passes away. The Thakurs undertake to look after Preetam as their own even after they become parents of a boy, Anil. Rana breaks out of prison and confronts Thakur, who tells him that both his wife and son are dead. When Rana demands 25000 Rupees, Mrs. Thakur summons the police, who arrive, arrest him, and take him back to complete his sentence. Years later Preetam and Anil have grown up like brothers. Preetam's marriage is being finalized with Sharan, the daughter of Rukmani and Judge B.N. Sinha, while Anil wants to get married to his sweetheart, Sarita. The engagement of the couples takes place, and shortly thereafter the Thakurs gets the news that Anil has been killed in an automobile accident. Sarita comes forward and admits that she is pregnant with Anil's child, forcing the Thakurs to compel Preetam to get married to Sarita in order to protect the family's name. What Preetam and the Thakurs do not know is that Sarita is not really pregnant, in fact, she is not who she claims to be, but is a close associate of Rana, who is now out of prison, and is hellbent to destroy the Thakur family once and for all. Watch how Sarita sets about to fulfill her agenda which is set amidst hilarious antics of Safachat and his attempts to wed Gauri.
- Widowed and with a small son, Raja, Janaki works as a maidservant with a wealthy man. When Raja falls ill, she has no money to get medicines, so she agrees to spend a night with her employer in return for money. Raja does recover, but on the very day, Janaki kills herself. Left alone, Raja takes to petty theft and when he grows up he is a career criminal, robbing people's houses in the dead of night, one of his victim's included the gorgeous Bollywood actress, Mumtaz, and on another occasion, he assumes the disguise of a groom, gets married to a woman named Nirmala, in order to escape from the police. While attending Courtesan Ranibai's dance, he comes to her rescue, both fall in love, decide to give up their respective careers and get married. But this is easier said than done, as both find that their past will not permit them to live a normal life, especially when Ranibai finds out that Raja was the one responsible for forcing her to be a courtesan.

Ajay's brother Birju is disappointed too, and both brothers quarrel, and Ajay runs away from home. Ajay's girlfriend Ritu and her parents too are disappointed with Ajay. Ajay takes up drinking alcohol to forget his woes. Will Ajay ever redeem himself in the eyes of his brother, his beloved, and his fans?
- Raj likes to gamble and place bets about virtually anything, including befriend an attractive woman, Pinky, and pretending to her brother, while carrying on his romance with his sweetheart, Sapna Singh. The second time Raj sees Pinky is in a coffin being carried to her grave, while he consoles her dad, someone shoots him dead, leaving Raj to take the blame. Gopal when knows the truth he wants to expose Vijay Bahadur, but before he can do so, Vijay Bahadur manages to get him murdered by Garibdas. Garibdas is produced in the court where it is revealed by that Garibdas and Gopal are in fact two faces of the same person.
