- The creation of the world's largest ocean liner.
- The State of Ceará, Brazil. Four degrees south of the Equator. Typical tropical conditions: every day, heavy thermals form in the hot air and strong winds roar in from the ocean. Its not the ideal place for the average free-flight pilot. But its something different for three determined top-notch paragliders from Hungary who want to set a new world distance-record, using the science of the thermal-flying birds. And to make it more difficult they decide to use standard equipment like no one else before them in the history of free flight! But they almost pay too high a price for the adventure: one of them crashes and thanks only to his luck and a local shepherd who rescues him he survives the accident. In spite of this, his two mates keep trying day after day with many adventurous moments. The land of Ceará also has another kind of challenge: it is an extensive bush wilderness; landing can be tricky and is often dangerous. And even if they manage to land safely, getting out of the uninhabited bush is an adventure in itself. And despite of being ordinary family men, they keep on trying to make their dream come true The "Flatland Flyers is their story.
- For nearly 500 years the Norse people dominated the oceans, known by their ships and for their destruction of anything in their way. They used sophisticated navigation methods and navigated safely over remarkably long distances.
- "Nature's Dance" is a celebration of the beauty and grace in nature as seen during the hectic summer months of Scandinavia when animals seek partners to secure the survival of their species.
- Climate change in the Arctic holds a frightening perspective, but some in the region see the potential in a warmer world. One chapter of a two-part documentary aiming to make sense of the Arctic dilemma.
- Resilient and fearless, it seems the wolverine should be known across the far northern regions for its hardy character and enduring strength. Instead, this tough little creature-a member of the weasel family-is often despised. Having evolved survival skills that include aggression and a voracious appetite, it has become a victim of its own success.
- Iceland's Eyjafjallajokull volcano erupted April 14, 2010, spewing aircraft-harming ash over most of Europe. It could cause Katla, its neighboring, larger volcano to erupt. NGC looks at Eyjafjallajokull before, during and after, explaining the science behind the chaos and the biggest disruption of air traffic since 9/11.
