- Herb and Dorothy Vogel redefine what it means to be an art collector.
- Images/Imágenes - The longest running Latino community program in the history of PBS, this 30-minute weekly program focused on cultural events and public affairs in the Hispanic community and featured the annual special, NJN Hispanic Youth Showcase, which provided scholarships for some of New Jersey's finest young Hispanic dancers, musicians, and singers. In 1969, the Puerto Rican community asked the emerging New Jersey Public Broadcasting Authority for a program that could serve the coverage needs of the media divided Hispanic community living in North, Central and South Jersey. After several defining months of negotiation, Images/Imágenes became the first Latino program to air on a Public Broadcasting System (PBS) in the entire Garden State. It joined a line-up of fresh and newly created programs that would make the station uniquely New Jersey. Born in 1970, New Jersey Public Television (NJPTV), the new competitor in the broadcast field, opened the door for in-depth news, sports, arts, entertainment, and diverse public affairs programs aimed at underserved communities. It brought New Jersey viewers closer by challenging the media powerhouses, who for years controlled and divided the State in half. For the Latino community, the birth of a New Jersey-centric public media outlet indicated that for the first time ever the entire tri-state area would be able to see the important role Latinos play in the enrichment of the Garden State. Under the series title "Mi Casa Su Casa" (My House Your House), the first producer and host, Diego Castellanos, made history on January 6, 1972, with a premiere special dedicated to the Three Kings. The program excelled beyond expectations and gave rise to a cavalcade of broadcasting accomplishments. After several name changes (Imagenes, Imagenes Latinas and Images/Imagenes), the series ended on New Jersey Network (NJN) on June 30, 2011. For 39 years, it was on the record, as the longest running Latino program nationally on PBS. It won multi-Emmy awards with numerous national acclaims from the White House, Congress, National PBS, the National Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), and three NJ Governors. The series represented PBS in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. It was distributed by the Department of Defense and seen at American military bases around the world. It also went national under the Latino Consortium's series "PRESENTE" with host Rita Moreno.
