- Set in modern day, young Romeo and Juliet fall in love, only to discover their families, who own rival butcher shops, are mortal enemies. Their relentless effort to be together despite family protest, lead to their ultimate demise.
- Everyone wants something. Paris is seeking Juliet's hand in marriage, and the rivalry for dominance between the butcher families Montague and Capulet is violently disturbing the peace of Verona.
