- Twenty-six year old Nicole likens her spending to drugs: they're both addictions. She makes good money with a $55,000 annual income, but it is insufficient to support her shopping addiction. She basically gets what she wants, whether it be from her mother Lenni, her girlfriend Leticia with who she spends together in the flush of early love, and her best friend Ivory. Nicole has access to one of Lenni's credit cards, which Nicole has maxed out time and time again. All three enablers know that they are such, and that money does and will cause problems in their respective relationships with Nicole. Nicole herself does realize this all as well. Gail gives her challenges to curb her impulses to feel the need to shop on meaningless stuff, and make her reprioritize people over stuff.
