- Am Strand von Husum spült die Flut einen erschlagenen Wikingerkrieger an: Der ungewöhnliche "Tote am Meer" ist jedoch kein Fall für Historiker, sondern für die Kripo und Kommissarin Ria Larsen. Im zweiten Film der Samstagabend-Krimireihe im Ersten verkörpert Marlene Tanczik die angeschlagene, aber kämpferische Ermittlerin. Christoph Letkowski spielt ihren Partner Brandt, der an Rias besondere Fähigkeiten glaubt und loyal zu ihr hält. Die Konflikte im Kripoteam und die fesselnde Krimihandlung verknüpft Regisseurin Michaela Kezele in "Der Wikinger" zu einem spannungsgeladenen nordischen Thriller. Brillante Bilder lassen in die geheimnisvolle Welt dunkler Mythen eintauchen: Kommissarin Ria Larsen kehrt mit gemischten Gefühlen aus der Reha in den Dienst der Kripo Husum zurück: Ihre vorübergehende Aufgabe als Leiterin einer frisch geschaffenen "Task Force für ungelöste Fälle" verspricht reichlich Büroarbeit und zeigt, wie wenig Vertrauen ihr Vorgesetzter in die junge Kommissarin hat. Kripo-Chef Bergmann möchte sie aus dem aktuellen Fall, einer von der Flut angespülten Männerleiche in Wikingerkluft, auf jeden Fall heraushalten. Auch Rias "Vertretung" Sellien verbittet sich jegliche Einmischung - obwohl ihre kriminalistischen Fähigkeiten gebraucht werden: Der Unbekannte muss zunächst identifiziert werden, seine Fingerkuppen wurden abgetrennt. Die ehrgeizige Kommissarin lässt sich aber weder einschüchtern noch auf dem Dienstweg ausbremsen. Mit der Unterstützung ihres früheren Partners Brandt und der Ex-Kommissarin Haller nimmt sie eigene Ermittlungen auf. Spuren führen zu dem 17-jährigen Jan, der in Drogengeschäfte verwickelt scheint, und in das nahe gelegene Wikinger-Museumsdorf von Freya Sörensen. Die Matriarchin und ihr Sohn Yall Peder schlüpfen nicht nur in historische Kostüme, sondern sie leben in einer von nordischen Riten bestimmten, eigenen entrückten Welt. Als Ria die Identität des Ermordeten herausfindet, muss sie nicht nur den Täter suchen, sondern auch einen Racheakt verhindern.
- The disappearance of nine-year-old Jan Poulsen (Michael Hoppe) causes his parents, the handball star Mikkel (Nicklas Kingo) and his wife Tamara (Laura-Sophie Warachewicz), to panic. Shortly afterwards, the kidnappers make crazy demands: Mikkel should terminate the contract he has already signed with a large Parisian handball club and stay in Flensburg in the coming season. It makes sense that the perpetrators are a few crazy fans. Svenja Rasmussen (Katharina Schlothauer), who has now decided against returning to Hamburg, and Antoine "Tony" Haller (Eugene Boateng) investigate the fan scene with the help of club chairwoman Fiona (Romina Küper). But the hope of being able to hold Jan in their arms again soon does not come true for Mikkel and Tamara.

Doch dabei verschweigt sie, dass sie sich nur von ihren eigenen Problemen ablenkt. Allerdings will Merle erst ihre Unterschrift unter die Bürgschaft setzen, wenn sie den Campingplatz einer Business-Analyse unterzogen hat. Jantje hat überhaupt keine Lust, sich von ihrer besserwisserischen Schwester erzählen zu lassen, wie sie den Campingplatz führen soll, aber sie hat keine andere Wahl. Was niemand weiß: Merle wurde gerade fristlos gekündigt. Umso enthusiastischer stürzt sie sich in ihre selbst gewählte Aufgabe und bringt dabei das "Malibu"-Gefüge ziemlich durcheinander. Die Dauercamper malen sich die schlimmsten Szenarien aus, welche Sparmaßnahmen Merle vorschlagen könnte. Auch Jantje und Stefan befinden sich plötzlich in Konkurrenz, denn Merle will entscheiden, welches ihrer Konzepte für den Campingplatz das Rennen machen wird. Als der wahre Grund für Merles Kündigung bekannt wird, können sich die ungleichen Schwestern auf Augenhöhe begegnen: Jetzt ist es Jantje, die ihrer Schwester helfen kann.
- Die Serie spielt in einem kleinen, wirtschaftlich unauffälligen Retourencenter in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Dort leitet Susanne Krombholz (Stefanie Stappenbeck) das Unternehmen für den "guten Zweck" - die Gewinne wandern nämlich in die Taschen der Kolleginnen und Kollegen. Erzeugt werden sie, indem die Retouren eben nicht wie vorgeschrieben geschreddert, sondern unter der Ladentheke verkauft werden. Da ist es Susanne gar nicht recht, als plötzlich der Turbokapitalist Oliver Drittenpreiß (Wanja Mues) ein Blick auf das Center wirft. Oliver umarmt den Fortschritt und möchte Global Player sein, denkt entsprechend effizient und groß. Ein neues, großes Retourencenter für zurückgeschickte Waren ist genau das Richtige, nachdem der Online-Handel während der Corona-Pandemie durch die Decke gegangen ist. Für Susanne und Co. steht fest: Olivers Traum vom modernen und transparenten Mega-Center muss um jeden Preis verhindert werden.
- Eva Jensen is a carpenter form Hamburg who wants to make a new start on the Baltic Sea coast. She faces prejudice but ends up growing closer to fish-seller Christian, with whom shares common passion, kite-surfing.
- Prisoner Edmund Frank is offered a large amount of money by the editor of a magazine, to tell the real story of his crime and the hiding place of the one million Mark he stole from the bank he worked for.
- After receiving a dubious Phone call at work, Eva Konalsky, a typist working at a Steel Factory disappears without a trace. The Saarbrücken Police sends the two cops Liersdahl and Schäfermann to investigate. Both of them have a very different view of how police work should be done and they are not very fond of each other at first. When another person of the Steel Factory's personnel is murdered they both have to do their best to solve the case.
- The East German authorities are calling the West German Police for assistance on a case. The body of a boy was found at a Truck Stop near Leipzig. The boy wears shoes made in West Germany. Some time later the assistance call is withdrawn. Phoning his colleague in East Berlin, a man he worked together with in the past, investigator Paul Trimmel in Hamburg is told: "There is no work for you here." But Trimmel investigates on his own. He finds out that the wealthy Erich Landsberger is the illegitimate father of the dead kid. Landsberger and his other son have moved to Frankfurt. Trimmel pays him a visit there. The man is of no great help for him, but Trimmel gets an unexpected clue from Landsberger's little son. He has to go to Leipzig himself to find out more. So he leaves the Transit Route near the city, pretending his car broke down, takes a Taxi and goes looking for Eva Billsing, the dead boy's mother. She is not home when Trimmel arrives. The next day Trimmel encounters Eva's boyfriend Peter Klaus, who works for the East German Police, and talks him into letting him have a word with Eva. At least Klaus gives in to Trimmel and the things Eva tells him help solve the case.
- A dead woman found in the Donau, is the wife of a very important guest of the Austrian Government. Oberinspektor Marek is asked to investigate the case very gently.
- Brigitta Beerenberg calls the police to inform them she has killed her husband in self-defense. Trimmel wants her to be examined by a psychiatrist.
- Max Bergusson hijacks flight AE612 from Milaan to Beirut. His wife's murderer is on board and he demands the captain to fly to Hamburg instead. Before he boards the plane, he informs Hauptkommissar Trimmel through a curious message.
- After a few days away from home with his girlfriend constructor Breuke from Sieverstedt hurries home to convince his wife he is not having an affair. On the road home he hits a bicyclist, but drives on instead of calling an ambulance. Arriving at his house he deliberately hits the post of the driveway gate to disguise the damage of the accident. All the while he is unaware that his wife is watching him. Hauptkommissar Finke arrives in the village after the local police has taken Peter Reichert as a suspect. His assistant wants to investigate further. Meanwhile Breuke is being blackmailed by an unknown person. Then an actual murder takes place.
- In Frankfurt con man Johannes Stein is making easy money with his latest trick: He is selling "Gold" to unsuspecting people. He too talks the Wimper family into buying some, later to be stored in a Swiss bank. After seeing proof, Grandpa Wimper is eager to buy. Little does he know about that "Gold". When Stein tries to sell some more to a business tycoon, he gets busted and has to flee. It's now up to investigator Konrad to track down the swindler and to arrest him.
- Kressin is back in Cologne, where he works for the customs office. Soon he is ordered to a new case. A gang of bootleggers keep outwitting the customs authorities. Kressin's colleagues can't find any evidence of a crime. Everytime the suspicious trucks are checked at the border, their load is always correct, as declared. Kressin now has to find the liquor and the bootleggers' HQ.
- Customs officer Kressin is on holiday in Hamburg and sees the tour guide acting suspiciously. He ignores it, but the day after the guide is found dead in the water.
