- 8 Years is a short documentary emphasizing the impact of Hurricane Katrina specifically on the Lower Ninth Ward and the Lower Ninth Ward Village in 2005. The destruction was unimaginable, and this film shows that even eight years after Katrina, the community is still rebuilding a community center that is now considered a major center within the Lower Ninth Ward. 8 Years aims to highlight the somewhat forgotten damage of Hurricane Katrina. We interview Ward "Mack" McClendon, the former director of the Lower Ninth Ward Village, and we follow United Synagogue Youth teens as they assist in repairing what was once a beautiful community center.
