- For the last 35 years artist-activists Carole Condé and Karl Beveridge have been engaging issues of social justice through their extraordinary staged photography. This documentary explores their stunning body of work, and witnesses the artists in action - creating provocative new images about the environment, the rights of workers and the current global financial crisis. Canadian Art magazine recently recognized Condé & Beveridge as "the social conscience of the Canadian art world." An intimate view of subjects who shun celebrity, PORTRAIT OF RESISTANCE is about two artists who challenge the way we see our world.
- Community Matters documents pioneering artist-activists Carole Condé & Karl Beveridge and shows the Toronto-based artists as they collaborate to produce their photo work, The Fall of Water (2007) . The film includes commentaries by curator Jan Allen, UK artist Lorraine Leason, and artist/historian Clive Robertson.
