Velvet's House Party, written by Stacey Bean, and featuring the comedic actor Brooks Braselman as Velvet, is based on the play, "Catfish, Guns and Corndogs: At Play in the Fields of the Trailer Park" featuring a two year, sold-out run in New York City and after a successful run in Los Angeles was considered as a television sitcom at the former WB Network. Velvet's House Party, written in 30-min episodes, features Velvet Hiney in her home, visited by a regular cast of characters: Hilda Fern, her slovenly maid; Ricky The Pizza Delivery Boy, a former juvenile hall teen trying to go straight; Mailman Ted, the hunkiest and most eligible mailman in town; and Bernice Finkelbaum, Velvet's nosy, Gladys Kravitz-like next door neighbor.

Life is seeming hopeless, until the day Miles meets seven year old Teddy Dukes (Joshua Protzmann) in the park. Teddy, who is struggling in school is in big trouble with his school's vice principal, Mr. Billieaski, and with his Mom, Grace Dukes (Katelyn Rydzewski), who is demanding a conference with Mr. Billieaski. Teddy knows there is no way out of his predicament, unless he can recruit the now homeless Miles to pose as his vice principal, but will Miles take the job?
