• Traditionally, the official competition jury also awarded a Silver Leopard along with 30,000 Swiss francs donated by the Town and Region of Locarno to the best film in the competition from a first or second time director. With their spirit and their commitment, independent producers are a fundamental force for new and experimental cinema; the very cinema that Locarno has always cherished and promoted.
