- An elite unit, led by an ex-homicide cop, which is linked to the Miami-Dade Police Department, uses all possible resources and skills at their disposal to solve complex crimes in cross-cultural Miami.

Ramsay claims police abuse, IAB Sergeant Rick Stetler investigates Horatio, but Ramsay's X-rays... Speculating on a link with the judge's major cases, the team finds Donna's corps in a strangler's peat swamp dumping ground, with vomit which allows a DNA trace to Mathis, but Horatio now considers him a mere pawn...

So the suspects include victimized adulterers Carl Purdue, who as ruined and threatened her life, and Matthew Warner, who believes she loved him. Eric tries to pussyfoot after finding MPD detective Frank Tripp's fingerprints and his name on a client list.

Horatio learns that the plane was sabotaged and he thinks Darius had a hand in it. Horatio sends for New York Detective Mac Taylor who was the one who caught Darius. Horatio decides to look at the woman's disappearance again and discovers that the husband didn't tell him some things that could have helped him find his wife. Darius continues to go on a killing spree and Horatio learns that Darius is not the killer, so he has to find out how Darius knew about the woman.
