- DirectorPedro OlallaStarsManolis KalligiannisFugitive, student, mercenary, aviator, shipbuilder and sea dog, Manolis Calliyannis quit his homeland Lesbos at the age of 17 dreaming of becoming a painter and only a painter. Turkey, Palestine, South Africa, England, France, Crete, Lesbos and the bright waters of the Aegean Sea are the scenes where his life takes place as an unceasing search.
In 2008, the Spanish Hellenist, writer and photographer Pedro Olalla meets Calliyannis and decides to devote a cinematographic portrait to him. An odd fate turns this creative adventure into the painter’s last confession, and what begins as an attempt of a documentary becomes under the circumstances a suggestive film about life itself and, what is more, about our amazement and perplexity before life. - DirectorVassilis LoulesStarsRosina Asser-PardoShelly Kunio-CohenEftyhia Nahman-NahmiaFive elderly Greek-Jewish people tell on camera the story of their childhood hardships during the German Occupation in Greece.Children in Hiding (Filia eis ta paidia) 2011
