Narciso Ibáñez Menta was born in Sama de Langreo, Asturias, Spain. A member of an important family of theatrical artists, the young Narciso toured with them through Spain and America. He arrived in Argentina aged 7 where he debuted in the suspense film A Light In The Window (Una luz en la ventana), directed by Manuel Romero in 1941. Tied to the cinema of fantasy and horror throughout his career, Ibañez Menta went on to star in Crime Stories (1942, by Manuel Romero) and Three Appointments With Fate (Tres citas con el destino, 1953), appearing in the episode directed by León Klimovsky. In the early 60's, he starred in the landmark Argentine horror film Masterworks Of Terror (1959) directed by Enrique Carreras (and Ibañez Menta, according Narciso himself). The film and the smash television series that followed were created by Narciso and his son Narcisco "Chicho" Ibañez Serrador for Argentine TV. In the ensuing years, Ibañez Menta and "Chicho" conceived, produced, directed and starred in several successful horror and suspense series both in Argentina and Spain. He played the younger version of Pryce's Pope Francis. In addition to his long and illustrious film and theatre career, in recent years Minujin has starred in some of Latin America's most successful television programs. They have made him one of the most prominent, recognizable and popular actors performing today. In his latest works Minujin demonstrates a unique versatility that enables him to move easily between comedy and drama. This range allows him to work with people as diverse as Will Smith and Lucrecia Martel. In 2016 Minujin was nominated for best actor in a drama for the internationally acclaimed series "El Marginal", and in the comedy "Loco for Vos", which was a locally produced version of the American TV show "Mad About You". Born in Argentina and raised in Mexico City, Minujin studied acting, dance and singing in Argentina and London. He first came to prominence in the Argentine film industry when he starred in the movie "2 + 2", which was the highest grossing Argentine film of 2012.
Juan has worked in many theater productions in Buenos Aires and eventually added work in TV to his portfolio, including starring roles in the shows "Viudas e hijos del Rock & Roll", "Tratame Bien", "Tiempos Compulsivos" and the HBO production "Epitafios 2", among other productions.
His first starring role in a film was "A year without love" (2007), where he played a sadomasochist poet with AIDS. This strong acting work caught the attention of Argentine directors and producers. Since then he has been working non-stop in over 20 independent films including "El Abrazo Partido" and "Cordero de Dios". He has starred in such films as "Zenitram" and "El Cielo Elegido". For these and other films he has received several awards and nominations.
In 2011, Minujin made his first feature film as director, writer and star of "Vaquero". This film received laurels in major film festivals including the Toronto Internacional Film Festival, and Minujin was awarded several prizes both as director and actor.
Minujin's first big break in the Argentinian film industry was with the funny and fine interpretation in the role of a doctor cardiologist swinger in the movie "2 + 2", which in 2012 was the highest grossing box office film in Argentina. The role propelled him into different major television roles, most notably as the lead actor in the 2013 TV comedy "Solamente Vos".
