Especially if you allow the protagonist to tell her story, don't judge or bring with you your political views.
- DirectorKen LoachStarsPaul BranniganJohn HenshawRoger AllamNarrowly avoiding jail, new dad Robbie vows to turn over a new leaf. - DirectorRebecca ThomasStarsJulia GarnerLiam AikenBilly ZaneRachel, a teenager born and raised in her Mormon community, believes that she has been inpregnated by listening to music and must get to Vegas to find the "father" of her miracle baby.I almost loved this film and swayed between 7 or 8/10. It's offbeat and quirky and although it slowed a little in the middle, it radiated a gentle charm that left me with a smile. After reading a decent review on Sound and Sight and a comment from the Producer, I have released the need for a wound-tight ending and can now enjoy the afterglow. It certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea but if you like quirky and can believe in serendipity you might enjoy it.
- DirectorKirk JonesStarsCameron DiazMatthew MorrisonJ. Todd SmithFollows the lives of five interconnected couples as they experience the thrills and surprises of having a baby and realize that no matter what you plan for, life does not always deliver what is expected.Perhaps you need to have been an expecting parent but there were moments in this film where I laughed out loud.
- DirectorSteven SoderberghStarsChanning TatumAlex PettyferOlivia MunnA male stripper teaches a younger performer how to party, pick up women, and make easy money.Channing pulls this off without being cheap. Probably a 10 for Tatum fans who are over 15 but depressing as hell for those who aren't. Not a bad story either.
