- DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsAdrienne BarbeauJamie Lee CurtisJanet LeighAn unearthly fog rolls into a small coastal town exactly 100 years after a ship mysteriously sank in its waters.FV: Carpenter film with great lighting and nice well paced story.
- DirectorAnocha SuwichakornpongStarsVisra Vichit-VadakanArak AmornsupasiriAchtara SuwanIn 1970, She was student activist, a waitress who keeps changing her job, now a film director. All lives loosely connected to each others.FV: ...okay let me start with the easy things to describe: This film is beautiful shot and framed. The ending cinematography is unbelievably gorgeous and raised the hairs on the back of my neck. Similar to the ending of Irma Vep. Now let me try to describe the meaning and story of the film... I believe this art piece is just about showing disparity. For example the disparity between reality and film. Or the disparity between past and present. The disparity between excess of the rich and the restraint of the poor The disparity between meditation and a nightclub. The disparity between young and old. The disparity between digital and real life. Maybe even the disparity of the pacing of the first half and second half. Oof, this film is a doozy contemplation piece.
- DirectorEduardo de GregorioStarsLeslie CaronBulle OgierMarie-France PisierAn English novelist is lured, with disconcerting and disorienting results, into purchasing a crumbling mansion by what he imagines are the deliberately 'literary' ploys of its housekeeper (Leslie Caron) and two mysterious, lurking women.FV A quirky gothic tale. The three actresses are breathtaking to watch. Apparently, I need to watch Celine and Julie Go Boating (1974) to understand better.
- DirectorEduardo de GregorioStarsNathalie BayePhilippe LéotardBulle OgierA UNESCO translator stumbles across a group which is hiding and supporting Nazis and facilitating their travel around the world.FV: A woman stumbles get caught into some a nazi scheme. Eduardo de Gregorio loves adding free jazz piano riffs during times of confusion and internal action. Unlike Surreal Estate (1976) nothing particularly stood out for me in this film.
- DirectorWyatt DennyStarsWyatt DennyJerome FergusonJoe HillAlice & her friend Dinah take a wild ride with a mysterious white haired albino and a golden painted, fallen Angel. Alice finds herself in an underground world being traded for a ruby red glitter drug. It is here she will remain as entertainment for the King, to play Russian roulette with a furious Queen.FV: An edgy and completely on the nose music video.
- DirectorYasuharu HasebeStarsAkira KobayashiJô ShishidoHideaki NitaniFresh out of prison, yakuza lieutenant Jiro Sagae is recruited by a new gang to help defeat a powerful rival family in this bloody, stylish crime film that inspired Japanese yakuza films of the '70s.FV: That ending. Some of the shots are amazing however the story is a bit lackluster.
- DirectorJodie MackA montage of science, technology and nature.FV: A fun juxtaposition of circuit boards and flowers.
- DirectorArthur RipleyStarsRobert CummingsMichèle MorganSteve CochranChuck Scott gets a job as chauffeur to tough guy Eddie Roman; but Chuck's involvement with Eddie's fearful wife becomes a nightmare.FV: The switch up ruined it. Other than that decent classic Hollywood.
