Nominated Films Directed by Women

A list of all films directed by women to be nominated for either Best Picture or Best Director at the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes.

As of October 2017, only one woman has won Best Director at the Oscars, and only one woman has won Best Director at the Golden Globes. (Two different women, it should be pointed out.)

Only four films directed by women have won Best Picture in any category at either of the two awards - two of those were also the films that won Best Director.
