An unbelievably intense, incredible piece of television, written and directed to perfection. Every story crosses over to some applaud, while the resurrection of Ford, the continually skippy timeline and Dolores's increasingly destructive behaviour ensure for one of the biggest episodes yet. This really is the new Game of Thrones. - DirectorUta BriesewitzStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightThe telling of Akecheta and the Ghost Nation's journey to consciousness; Maeve's life hangs in the balance.9.2
In an episode being declared one of the greatest of the series thus far, we're treated to a beautiful love story, a much needed character background and, hugely, full comprehension of the extent of Maive's abilities. Although I feel this episode is dwarfed by the incredible 'Les Ecorches', 'Kiksuya' is by no means the filler episode the plot perhaps suggested. - DirectorStephen WilliamsStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightThe Man in Black confronts his troubled past; Charlotte forms a plan to kill all the hosts.9.2
An episode which encourages the viewer to question the nature and definity of their reality, there are some shocking moments and fascinating revelations - not least of which The Man In Blacks devastating split from what's real. - DirectorFrederick E.O. ToyeStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightEveryone converges at the Valley Beyond.9.3
What a finale. Although 'Passenger' didn't quite reach the lofty standards set by the chaos of season one, that's hardly an insult. Totally mind-bending; awe inspiring; shocking, there aren't enough words to describe what Westworld has achieved this episode and this season. While some sections of fans have lost patience with Ford's puzzles and games - it only makes me want to watch more - knowing that it will pay off at some point. - DirectorJonathan NolanStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightDolores sets out to find the architect of the Rehoboam; Bernard tries to blend in; Ex-soldier Caleb tries to find his way in neo-Los Angeles.8.8
An exciting new direction for an already bold show. Dolores is a terrific villian, and Aaron Paul slots in seamlessly as a character we can get behind. I can't wait to see where they take it this season! - DirectorRichard J. LewisStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightMaeve finds herself in a new park and meets a ghost from the past; Bernard makes his way back to Westworld.8.5
A suitably mind bending episode which reintroduces Maeve to the fold, with a host reveal to boot. Going back to the park was always going to be fun - especially given the inspired WW2 setting. - DirectorAmanda MarsalisStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightCharlotte grapples with reality; Dolores and Caleb begin to form a key partnership.8.6
Is it all a simulation? Who is actually impersonating Hale? Typically fantastic writing paired with genre building sci-fi and fundamental questions galore - S3 is beginning to hit its stride. - DirectorPaul CameronStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightBernard and Ashley infiltrate a private charity event, while Dolores and Caleb make similar plans; The Man in Black prepares to re-enter society; Maeve comes face to face with an old comrade.9.4
A phenomenal episode which epitomises what this season, and show, is all about. Bold ideas. Shocking twists. And above all, great acting and visuals. - DirectorAnna FoersterStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightSerac's past is revealed; Dolores pressures Liam for access to Rehoboam; Caleb is dosed with an unusual party drug.8.1
In what should have been an entertaining trip of an episode, it never really hits the heights it threatens to. As Dolores' master plan comes into effect, it feels less than satisfying. - DirectorJennifer GetzingerStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightAs the world falls into chaos, Serac gains control of Delos, changing Charlotte's plan; Maeve gets one last chance to stop Dolores; William starts his therapy.8.2
Being written off a cliff at present. Devoid of any tension, just frustration instead at the invincible characters and lack of stakes. The only thing keeping the show on some sort of track is its beautiful cinematography and thoughtful philosophy. The strive for something revolutionary is what is keeping me holding on to this still being a great season. Hopefully well-written strides are taken in the final two episodes. - DirectorHelen ShaverStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightCaleb gets an insight on the true nature of his past; Dolores seeks out Rehoboam's predecessor, while Maeve tracks her down; Bernard, Stubbs, and William escape from all the chaos.8.5
Much better than some critics are making out, though not quite as strong as we've come to expect. Though the production values remain fantastic and its futuristic vision intact, it just feels a little too predictable at points - given what you've come to expect from Westworld - that's shocking. It's more intrigue than well-executed plot at this point. Put it this way, at the peak of its powers this storyline would have achieved something like a 9.5 rating. Instead, like the plot, it is somewhat diluted. But calling it bad is just plain stupid. - DirectorJennifer GetzingerStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightDolores' true intentions are revealed; Bernard confronts a ghost from his past; Maeve is conflicted; Serac's voice is dominant; Caleb's role is revealed; and William faces an unexpected villain.8.2
There's a lot to like - the visuals particularly as always - unfortunately its just not enough to make up for an ultimately convoluted season that went off the rails half way through. Maybe season four will re-establish direction and cohesion to this once heir to the GoT crown. Right now, a once innovative show is becoming just another sci-fi series. - DirectorRichard J. LewisStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightSeven years after the demise of Rehoboam, events are set in motion that reunite allies and enemies.8.3
As mysterious as ever. Not always gripping, but intriguing. Are Christina's stories actually real? Is this set before the park and she wrote the code for Dolores? Was that brain memory analysis tech? There's a lot going on and you'll need a refresh of the past few seasons to catch up with some of the other threads. A promising theory explosion of a start. - DirectorCraig William MacneillStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightMaeve and Caleb search for answers. Christina investigates Peter Myers. William announces a new Delos venture.8.5
Shedding its serious demeanour, Westworld is beginning to have a little more fun with its high stakes concepts, embracing the outlandishness to a kind of refreshing point. Maeve is totally badass, her chemistry with Caleb is fun to watch. A lot of great call-backs too as we are introduced to a new park. What is the hosts plan? Are they going to make the 'guests' the targets? Let's wait and see but for now, they got me intrigued... - DirectorHanelle M. CulpepperStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightBernard begins his journey. Maeve finds herself in familiar territory. Caleb sees someone he loves.8.9
An awesome episode that suggests Westworld may just be back to its best in terms of complex storytelling that actually works. Long may it continue. The attention to detail and little moments, in particular Maeve's body language in the scene with her replicated love. You'll enjoy the shows light-hearted self taunt and find yourself brainstorming theories for this seasons timelines and endgame... like just how long was Bernard out for? - DirectorPaul CameronStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightMaeve and Caleb attempt to escape Temperance with their lives. Bernard and the resistance search for a weapon in the desert.9.1
Welcome to the next phase of the maze. Westworld ups its game in season one fashion with a timeline colliding episode that steeps us in a world where the machines win. Their prerogative not to destroy us - but to control us. "I prefer the term...hosts" was a piece of truly poetic excellence. Maeve and Caleb's endings (for those versions of them anyway) were brilliant. Excited to theorise for what's next! - DirectorCraig William MacneillStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightChristina questions the nature of her reality. Charlotte tasks William with tracking a human outlier who has breached.9.0
An episode about becoming aware, and the disease of humanity being our need for meaning. 'Westworld' has fully immersed itself in its dystopian future, leaving both hosts and humans questioning their free will. Christina's arc this episode was just wonderful ("I'm the storyteller"). - DirectorAndrew SeklirStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightCaleb attempts to escape from Charlotte's brutal interrogation, and uncovers a disturbing reality. Bernard and C make their way to the resistance hideout, only to find a spy in their midst.8.8
Excellent again, utilising hope - a concept unexperienced by Hosts - to discover Caleb's intentions and drive. - DirectorMeera MenonStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightBernard and Maeve fight to save the world. Charlotte begins to see her plans realized. The Man in Black returns to the game.8.8
- DirectorRichard J. LewisStarsEvan Rachel WoodThandiwe NewtonJeffrey WrightChristina finds the center of the maze; Caleb and C try to escape; William changes the game's difficulty, to Hale's furious disapproval.8.7
It doesn't quite stick the landing the quality of this season suggested was coming - but there was enough good to intrigue for a possible final season.
