- DirectorOlivier NakacheÉric ToledanoStarsFrançois CluzetOmar SyAnne Le NyAfter he becomes a quadriplegic from a paragliding accident, an aristocrat hires a young man from the projects to be his caregiver.
- DirectorBarry JenkinsStarsMahershala AliNaomie HarrisTrevante RhodesA young African-American man grapples with his identity and sexuality while experiencing the everyday struggles of childhood, adolescence, and burgeoning adulthood. This film has been labelled by some commentators as pretentious and an embodiment of political correctness, for which, in parts, I have to agree. There is very little dialogue and many of the characters fall foul of making any impression at all; some we may think to be poignant never reappear. Nevertheless, many scenes were thoughtful, well-crafted and packed with emotion. Naomie Harris' performance was powerful and raw. This is a brilliant coming of age film for those who do not mind a slow burn. 7/10
