- DirectorCory FinleyStarsHugh JackmanRay RomanoWelker WhiteThe beloved superintendent of New York's Roslyn school district and his staff, friends and relatives become the prime suspects in the unfolding of the single largest public school embezzlement scandal in American history.Starring Academy Award winner Allison Janney, audience favorite Hugh Jackman, and the mammoth-voicing comedian Ray Romano, Bad Education seems to be a movie that will balance comedy with drama in expert fashion, utilizing an all-star cast. How can it go wrong when it stars the greatest showman? Directed by Mike Makowsky.
- DirectorWilliam CoakleyStarsBrianna HildebrandCameron BoyceJason PatricA group of high school seniors are pulled into a downward cycle of violence.Runt stars Deadpool's Brianna Gildebrand and former Disney star Cameron Boyce. It is a film about underserved and neglected students that seems to hit at the heart of some of the biggest topics and debates of today. While it almost seems poised to be a drama, it is listed as a thriller. It could be Boyce's true "breakout" role. Directed by William Coakley.
- DirectorEdward James OlmosStarsKate BosworthChivonne MichelleKatie Lynn McDowellA psychotic oil matriarch leaves the whole industry exposed when she attempts to outfight a bullish farmer whose water has been poisoned. This drama stars Pablo Schrieber, Kate Bosworth, Martin Sheen, and Haley Joel Osment, and follows the drama of a battle of wills between and oil tycoon and a farmer. A strong cast and heated debate topic should make this a film to follow. Directed by Edward James Olmos.
- DirectorCedric GegelStarsCorbin BernsenJames PhelpsJohn WellsDevastated by the loss of their mother, three teenagers discover a mystical realm ruled by unseen forces. They must attempt to work together and overcome evil to return home.Starring two-time Emmy nominee Corbin Bernsen and Harry Potter's James Phelps, Cadia: The World Within is a fantasy that follows three teenagers to a mystical realm. Not much is known about the characters, but it will be interested to see Phelps, an underrated actor, in a non-Weasley role. Bernsen is always a pleasure (nods toward Psych fans). Directed by Cedric Gegel.
- DirectorRobert EggersStarsRobert PattinsonWillem DafoeValeriia KaramanTwo lighthouse keepers try to maintain their sanity while living on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s.Very little is known about this movie, other than that it stars Twilight and Harry Potter's Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe. Dafoe is, of course, a cult favorite; Pattinson continues to break out of his early career, much to the enjoyment of critics. Feels like an Oscar nomination. Directed by Robert Eggers.
- DirectorMarc ZammitStarsMarc ZammitLew TempleHector Bateman-HardenFrankie, a young boy who stands up to his fear and runs from home ending up homeless with no choice but trying to survive life on the streets.A film with a serious focus - issues surrounding homelessness - Homeless Ashes lacks a true "star" name (Hidden Figures's Maria Howell and director Marc Zammit may be the biggest names), yet the film seems to have secured a large following on social media and really touches the heart of an important issue. Worth keeping an eye on. Directed by Marc Zammit.
- DirectorMichael B. ChaitStarsJames MaslowTrevor DonovanJohn TurkIn 1944 German-occupied France, Jewish-American fighter pilot Captain David Holden is ambushed behind enemy lines. He must rescue a captured B-17 crew, evade a ruthless enemy, and stop a plot to alter WWII's outcome.A war drama starring 90210's Trevor Donovan, Big Time Rush's James Maslow, and John Wells (mentioned here due to coincedentally also appearing in the aforementioned Cadia: The World Within), Wolf Hound seems like a period piece that could be quite moving. It is based on a true story and feels like an odd mix of McGyver, James Bond, and Dunkirk. Directed by Michael B. Chalt.
