- DirectorPeter SohnStarsJeffrey WrightFrances McDormandMaleah Nipay-PadillaIn a world where dinosaurs and humans live side-by-side, an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. This I think is the Best Movie of The Year in General. An emotionally powerful ride about friendship, forgiveness, violence, and tragedy. The Good Dinosaur is one of the most explicit animated films for kids I have seen, but it works on so many levels. It's just one of the greatest things Pixar has ever done.
- DirectorSteve MartinoStarsNoah SchnappBill MelendezHadley Belle MillerSnoopy embarks upon his greatest mission as he and his team take to the skies to pursue their archnemesis, while his best pal Charlie Brown begins his own epic quest back home to win the love of his life.Best Animated Movie of the Year Period. The Peanuts Movie is absolutely perfect and everything about it rocks. They got every single detail right and I'm very glad that they did this film. Schultz would be proud and if he were alive today he would give this movie an applaud.
- DirectorGeorge MillerStarsTom HardyCharlize TheronNicholas HoultIn a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a woman rebels against a tyrannical ruler in search for her homeland with the aid of a group of female prisoners, a psychotic worshiper and a drifter named Max.Best Live Action Film of The Year. It's possibly one of the greatest movies ever made and its going to be a big contender for a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars. Everything is amazing and I was astounded by it from it's opening shot to it's closing quote. A must see.
- DirectorJohn Francis DaleyJonathan GoldsteinStarsEd HelmsChristina ApplegateSkyler GisondoRusty Griswold takes his own family on a road trip to "Walley World" in order to spice things up with his wife and reconnect with his sons.Best Comedy of the Year. I liked the first Vacation movie but I didn't really find it memorable except for the hilarious end. Vacation is an R Rated family movie that all parents and their teens should watch. Riotously funny throughout.
- DirectorBrad PeytonStarsDwayne JohnsonCarla GuginoAlexandra DaddarioIn the aftermath of a massive earthquake in California, a rescue-chopper pilot makes a dangerous journey with his ex-wife across the state in order to rescue his daughter. The best Disaster film in a very long time. The visuals blew me away and that's very rare of a movie to do for me nowadays. The movie is just heart racing and exciting and funny and really shows what a true disaster movie is.
- DirectorKenneth BranaghStarsLily JamesCate BlanchettRichard MaddenWhen her father unexpectedly dies, young Ella finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother and her scheming stepsisters. Never one to give up hope, Ella's fortunes begin to change after meeting a dashing stranger.A classic animated movie turned into a great period romance drama that works. I was astounded by the costumes, the designs, Cate Blanchett, Lily James, the scope and size of the picture and the visuals. Surely to be nominated for a costume design award at the Oscars.
- DirectorRobert SchwentkeStarsShailene WoodleyAnsel ElgortTheo JamesBeatrice Prior must confront her inner demons and continue her fight against a powerful alliance which threatens to tear her society apart with the help from others on her side. The Divergent Series is proving to be one of the best young adult adaptations ever. Insurgent is a fine chapter in the series and is very thrilling to watch. Shalliene Woodley's performance as Tris is better than any Hunger Games Movie combined and should be more recognized as the definitive young adult movie.
- DirectorJohn Erick DowdleStarsLake BellPierce BrosnanOwen WilsonIn their new overseas home, an American family soon finds themselves caught in the middle of a coup, and they frantically look for a safe escape from an environment where foreigners are being immediately executed.A Daring thriller that's huge in style. Owen Wilson does a good job in this role, but the Dowdle brothers are the ones that steal the show with their amazing direction and heart racing action scenes. I cannot wait to see what film they do next. I am now a fan of them.
- DirectorColin TrevorrowStarsChris PrattBryce Dallas HowardTy SimpkinsA new theme park, built on the original site of Jurassic Park, creates a genetically modified hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus Rex, which escapes containment and goes on a killing spree.Another powerful film is Jurassic World, breaking many records upon release, the movie is visual eye candy but is too violent for younger kids. Chris Pratt amazes me of how good a job he does in movies like this and is becoming then next Harrison Ford. I was holding back tears at the end.
- DirectorPete DocterRonnie Del CarmenStarsAmy PoehlerBill HaderLewis BlackAfter young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school. Why is this so low? Well, I do like the animation a lot and the acting is quite good. But I didn't think is was that emotional as Good Dinosaur. But this film is very good in many respects. The characters are memorable and simple, the journey is exciting and the movie had me on the edge of my seat for most of the running time. A really good comeback movie for Pixar.
- DirectorF. Gary GrayStarsO'Shea Jackson Jr.Corey HawkinsJason MitchellThe rap group NWA emerges from the mean streets of Compton in Los Angeles, California, in the mid-1980s and revolutionizes Hip Hop culture with their music and tales about life in the hood.*HONORABLE MENTION* Best Drama of the Year. Jason Mitchell as Easy E delivers an amazing performance and should be nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars. Overall, the cast is excellent, the music is great, the legend of N.W.A will live on thanks to F. Gary Gray's fantastic direction.
- DirectorNima NourizadehStarsJesse EisenbergKristen StewartConnie BrittonA stoner - who is in fact a government agent - is marked as a liability and targeted for extermination. But he's too well-trained and too high for them to handle.AND NOW FOR THE WORST MOVIE OF THE YEAR. Why is this doing on the best of list? Well, I didn't feel like Writing the worst of list just yet so I decided to tell you why this excrement on film is so awful. It's hate filled vomit, whoever thought they could release such a hateful piece of S#$% (I'm talking to you Max Landis) should be hanged for their exploits. The acting is wooden, the cinematography is dry and grey, the action scenes are terrible, nothing is funny, nothing gets spoofed at all, all to top it off with a hate filled tone that will surely leave viewers discouraged by the end of it. Worst movie of the year and possibly one of the worst movies ever made.
