- StarsIlona SvobodováAdrian JastrabanJaroslava Obermaierová"Ulice" is a long-standing Czech television series. The plot of the series revolves around a fictional street on the outskirts of Prague and the families that live there.Realy long soap opera, it is set in Prague in little neighborhood, I suppose if you want to learn real Czech this is the best. Other than that there is "Ordinace v Růžové zahradě" main characters are doctors and nurses, so they use terminology that you don't need to know. "Rodinná pouta" is another one, about a family and its business. All of them are soap operas, long, characters change and so does the plot.
- StarsTomás TöpferFrantisek SvihlíkZdenek JunákThis television series takes place during the first Czechoslovak Republic (1918 1939)."Četnické humoresky" is something between comedy and mystery (Czechs are good in mixing those two). Set up in 1930's, it would be better if you understood the political and historical background to enjoy this. Main charaters are cops.
- DirectorZdenek TroskaStarsPavel KikincukBronek CernyVeronika KánskáThe life of a small Czech village is suddenly in turmoil when a college student, Simon, arrives, who is introducing revolutionary innovations in dairy farming.First of series of movies. "Slunce, seno a pár facek" and "Slunce, seno, erotika" follows the life of Czech family in little village in nowhere. It perfectly illustrates the life of working family. Warning: lots of Czech specific humor, there are Czech people who don't like it, so its OK, not to like it.
- DirectorZdenek TroskaStarsMichaela KuklováMiroslav SimunekDaniel HulkaOnce upon a time there was a farmer. His daughter Dora was mean, lazy and quarrelsome, but his stepdaughter Magareta was sweet, pretty and hardworking. So it happened that the servant Hannes fell in love with Magareta. When Hannes asks the farmer for Magareta's hand, the jealous Dora is disappointed. In revenge, she hands Hannes over to the king's soldier recruiters and drives Magareta out of the house. Hannes saves himself to two devilish journeymen, who equip him with some magical things for his further way. The and new strong friends help Hannes to save his Magareta and at the same time free the people from a tyrannical king."Z pekla štěstí" is a Czech fairytale. To warn you Czech are fond of fairytales as much as tey are of their specific kind of ironic humor. I will enlist here others, they are good even for adults "Císařův pěkař" "Byl jednou jeden král..." "Šíleně smutná princezna" "Princezna se zlatou hvězdou" "Ať žijí duchové" "S čerty nejsou žerty" "Dívka na koštěti" "Hrátky s čertem" "Princezna ze mlejna"
