- DirectorJ.J. AbramsStarsDaisy RidleyJohn BoyegaOscar IsaacAs a new threat to the galaxy rises, Rey, a desert scavenger, and Finn, an ex-stormtrooper, must join Han Solo and Chewbacca to search for the one hope of restoring peace.J.J. Abrams brings the Star Wars franchise back to life in an amazing way! Even though it does feel a bit too similar to the first Star Wars movie, it is visually dazzling, action-packed, and it's awesome to see the characters from the original trilogy. It just blew me away, I can't wait to see Episode VIII, and that makes it my favorite movie of 2015.
- DirectorPete DocterRonnie Del CarmenStarsAmy PoehlerBill HaderLewis BlackAfter young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.Another great from Pixar. The most powerful movie of the year, it made me laugh and cry. A very smart and original movie.
- DirectorAlejandro G. IñárrituStarsLeonardo DiCaprioTom HardyWill PoulterA frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. One of the most beautifully shot movies I've ever seen. Leonardo DiCaprio gives one of the best performances of his career and should definitely win for Best Actor. I think the movie should also win Best Cinematography, Best Directing and Best Picture.
- DirectorGeorge MillerStarsTom HardyCharlize TheronNicholas HoultIn a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a woman rebels against a tyrannical ruler in search for her homeland with the aid of a group of female prisoners, a psychotic worshiper and a drifter named Max.If you're an action buff, this is the movie for you. It is nearly non-stop action. Didn't expect it to get nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars but I'm glad it did.
- DirectorMatthew VaughnStarsColin FirthTaron EgertonSamuel L. JacksonA spy organisation recruits a promising street kid into the agency's training program, while a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.Probably the most kick-ass movie of the year. The action scenes (Especially the Church scene) are just awesome and Colin Firth delivers a pretty good performance.
- DirectorDenis VilleneuveStarsEmily BluntJosh BrolinBenicio Del ToroAn idealistic FBI agent is enlisted by a government task force to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border area between the U.S. and Mexico.Probably the best thriller of the year. Benicio Del Toro's performance just creeped me out in this one. Denis Villeneuve gives another intense movie to his filmography.
- DirectorJoss WhedonStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansMark RuffaloWhen Tony Stark and Bruce Banner try to jump-start a dormant peacekeeping program called Ultron, things go horribly wrong and it's up to Earth's mightiest heroes to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plan.A lot darker than the first one and I'm probably one of the few people to say that I liked this a little more than the first Avengers movie (Not that I didn't like the first one, I thought it was pretty cool).
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsSamuel L. JacksonKurt RussellJennifer Jason LeighIn the dead of a Wyoming winter, a bounty hunter and his prisoner find shelter in a cabin currently inhabited by a collection of nefarious characters.Though the first hour is kind of boring, the last hour and thirty minutes: Holy Crap! It's gory, funny, and exciting. Tarantino shows he's still got it after two decades.
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsMatt DamonJessica ChastainKristen WiigAn astronaut becomes stranded on Mars after his team assume him dead, and must rely on his ingenuity to find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive and can survive until a potential rescue.Good performances, great directing, great visuals, intense, funny, what's not to like in this Sci-Fi flick?
- DirectorLenny AbrahamsonStarsBrie LarsonJacob TremblaySean BridgersA little boy is held captive in a room with his mother since his birth, so he has never known the world outside.A very interesting movie with some great performances by Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay. Larson should definitely win for Best Actress at this year's Oscars.
