- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsGuy PearceCarrie-Anne MossJoe PantolianoA man with short-term memory loss attempts to track down his wife's murderer.Hands down, the best movie ever! If somebody asks me what my favorite movie of all time is, my answer would be "Memento". Throughout the film, I was impressed, amazed, astonished or whatever. This movie also has some comedic moments which I think is brilliant for a mystery-thriller. The script was the best especially the non-chronological sequences of the plot and the backward storytelling. Guy Pierce was awesome and the supporting casts were also good. I wish this movie won the Best Picture at the Oscars that year but I guess Oscars were not always right, right?
- DirectorJames WanStarsKevin BaconJohn GoodmanKelly PrestonNick Hume is a mild-mannered executive with a perfect life, until one gruesome night he witnesses something that changes him forever. Transformed by grief, Hume eventually comes to the disturbing conclusion that no length is too great when protecting his family.I remembered I nearly cried at the end of the movie. The ending was a beautiful way to end a beautiful yet violent film. Though the plot seems recycled, the way it was directed was marvelous.
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsSamuel L. JacksonKurt RussellJennifer Jason LeighIn the dead of a Wyoming winter, a bounty hunter and his prisoner find shelter in a cabin currently inhabited by a collection of nefarious characters.I'm not really a fan of QT, but this has got to be my favorite film of his. The ensemble casts were superb and the script was well-written. Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins and Kurt Russel were my favorites. The cinematography was a spot-on and the musical score was beautifully haunting.
- DirectorPete DocterRonnie Del CarmenStarsAmy PoehlerBill HaderLewis BlackAfter young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school. It's a Pixar movie, how bad can it be? And yes, Pixar again got it right. The idea was unique and how it shown in the screen was radiant. The voice actors and the colours were perfect. The moral lesson was precisely given to the audience and what's a Pixar movie without an emotional scene? That "Riley moving away" scene always tears me up.
- DirectorDavid FincherStarsBen AffleckRosamund PikeNeil Patrick HarrisWith his wife's disappearance having become the focus of an intense media circus, a man sees the spotlight turned on him when it's suspected that he may not be innocent. My second favorite movie! Rosamund Pike was outstanding! Though I also liked Reese Witherspoon to play Amy, but Pike was perfect! Fincher's direction was flawless and the script was brilliant (though I noticed a small plot hole but I don't think it's an issue)
