- DirectorJohn FrankenheimerStarsRobert De NiroJean RenoNatascha McElhoneA freelancing former U.S. Intelligence Agent tries to track down a mysterious package that is wanted by the Irish and the Russians.Rating: 60%
A pretty standard 90's action/thriller. Not much special. De Niro and Reno make a good duo - DirectorRobert De NiroStarsMatt DamonAngelina JolieRobert De NiroThe tumultuous early history of the Central Intelligence Agency is viewed through the prism of one man's life.Rating: 76.5%
A surprisingly underrated and well-made spy-drama from De Niro that makes me want to see him do more directorial work - DirectorMartin McDonaghStarsFrances McDormandWoody HarrelsonSam RockwellA mother personally challenges the local authorities to solve her daughter's murder when they fail to catch the culprit.Rating: 98%
An excellent, captivating and dynamic study on the power of lies that serves as a time-capsule of rural America in the late 2010's. - DirectorGore VerbinskiStarsJohnny DeppGeoffrey RushOrlando BloomBlacksmith Will Turner teams up with eccentric pirate "Captain" Jack Sparrow to save Elizabeth Swann, the governor's daughter and his love, from Jack's former pirate allies, who are now undead.Rating: 79.5%

As a life-long Spider-Man fan, this felt like a love letter to the character and the nuances of the character lost in many adaptations - DirectorTodd PhillipsStarsZach GalifianakisBradley CooperJustin BarthaThree buddies wake up from a bachelor party in Las Vegas, with no memory of the previous night and the bachelor missing. They make their way around the city in order to find their friend before his wedding.Rating: 72.5%
Still a fun movie that you can put up on the screen at any time - DirectorPeter JacksonStarsThomas AdlamWilliam ArgentJohn AshbyA documentary about World War I with never-before-seen footage to commemorate the centennial of the end of the war.Rating: 82%
A stunning look into the lives of British soldiers that I'd consider required viewing for any interested in WWI history or history in general - DirectorBong Joon HoStarsChris EvansJamie BellTilda SwintonIn a future where a failed climate change experiment has killed all life except for the survivors who boarded the Snowpiercer (a train that travels around the globe), a new class system emerges.Rating: 56.5%
The first half is pretty abysmal. The second half really picks up the pace from there. Some interesting world-building, but the flat characters and awkward writing is too obvious to be covered up. - DirectorBob FosseStarsLiza MinnelliMichael YorkHelmut GriemA female girlie club entertainer in Weimar Republic era Berlin romances two men while the Nazi Party rises to power around them.Rating: 73%
While it took a while for me to get invested in the characters, once I was into it I was hooked. An interesting little movie about music and fascism. - DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansMark RuffaloAfter the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to reverse Thanos' actions and restore balance to the universe.Rating: 92%
While the first half has some odd choices in terms of storytelling, I can't help but be amazed at how they were able to tell a satisfying conclusion to such a massive and expansive movie franchise. Just for that, it's a feat in storytelling and film-making. - DirectorRidley ScottStarsHarrison FordRutger HauerSean YoungA blade runner must pursue and terminate four replicants who stole a ship in space and have returned to Earth to find their creator.Rating: 100%
I don't know what changed, but something just clicked with me this second viewing. This film is a masterpiece. - DirectorMartin McDonaghStarsColin FarrellBrendan GleesonCiarán HindsAfter a job gone wrong, hitman Ray and his partner await orders from their ruthless boss in Bruges, Belgium, the last place in the world Ray wants to be.Rating: 82.5%
A solid movie with an unbelievably funny 1st half and a great suspenseful 2nd half - DirectorDavid F. SandbergStarsZachary LeviMark StrongAsher AngelA newly fostered young boy in search of his mother instead finds unexpected super powers and soon gains a powerful enemy.Rating: 82%
A great kid's movie I would've adored had it come out in my youth. A great concept that is solidly delivered. - DirectorDenis VilleneuveStarsHarrison FordRyan GoslingAna de ArmasYoung Blade Runner K's discovery of a long-buried secret leads him to track down former Blade Runner Rick Deckard, who's been missing for thirty years.Rating: 100%
I'm speechless. The film truly lives up to its predecessor. This is a movie I see myself revisiting thousands of more times. - DirectorDavid LeanStarsPeter O'TooleAlec GuinnessAnthony QuinnThe story of T.E. Lawrence, the English officer who successfully united and led the diverse, often warring, Arab tribes during World War I in order to fight the Turks.Rating: 91%
While this is a classic, this movie kept on surprising me. Despite the issues of casting white-washed casting, this movie took a nuanced look at a man's life and didn't romanticize either side of his British nor Arab allegiance. Also, one of the most well-shot films I've ever seen - DirectorVictor FlemingGeorge CukorSam WoodStarsClark GableVivien LeighThomas MitchellA sheltered and manipulative Southern belle and a roguish profiteer face off in a turbulent romance as the society around them crumbles with the end of slavery and is rebuilt during the Civil War and Reconstruction periods.Rating: 89%
Despite some romanticism and forgiveness of the Confederacy's pursuit for independence, the film is a compelling character study and human drama. For a picture from 1939, it really holds up well. - DirectorClint EastwoodStarsHilary SwankClint EastwoodMorgan FreemanFrankie, an ill-tempered old coach, reluctantly agrees to train aspiring boxer Maggie. Impressed with her determination and talent, he helps her become the best and the two soon form a close bond.Rating: 95.5%
A surprisingly thoughtful and emotional movie from Clint Eastwood. I'm really impressed by the acting, writing and direction on this one. While the movie flirts with the cliches of the boxer and sports-film genres, it's a fresh take on them - DirectorWoody AllenStarsWoody AllenDiane KeatonMariel HemingwayThe life of a divorced television writer dating a teenage girl is further complicated when he falls in love with his best friend's mistress.Rating: 92%
I was pleasantly surprised by this one as well. While the "romance" between a man of 42 and a girl of 17 is down-right wrong, the themes explored explored throughout the film that would drive an adult to seek such a relationship with a minor are compelling, albeit wrong. It's also amazing to look at. Allen really makes you feel like a fly on the wall, watching people's lives play out in a natural and human way that not many movies achieve - DirectorKenneth BranaghStarsKenneth BranaghPenélope CruzWillem DafoeWhen a murder occurs on the train on which he's travelling, celebrated detective Hercule Poirot is recruited to solve the case.Rating: 70%
It was ok. Branagh is a decent albeit unique person to portray the lovable detective Poirot, but he carries the large and superstar ensemble quite well. While some performances leave a lot to be desired, as does some of the cinematography, it is a fun mystery whodunit that brings the atmosphere of Christie's novels to a modern audience in an appropriate manner - DirectorBob FosseStarsRoy ScheiderJessica LangeAnn ReinkingDirector/choreographer Bob Fosse tells his own life story as he details the sordid career of Joe Gideon, a womanizing, drug-using dancer.Rating: 100%
I'm floored. Fosse delivers a spectacular combination of musical genius, editing masterwork and phenomenal acting to creating a movie that oozes with personality and meticulous care put into every frame. The movie feels like a bunch of chaotic imagery jumbled together by an insane person that comes together to form this beautiful journey of a man on the brink due to his lifestyle. I hope I can find a project that brings out the passion in me the same way this film brought out the passion within Fosse. - DirectorJon WattsStarsTom HollandSamuel L. JacksonJake GyllenhaalPeter Parker, the beloved superhero Spider-Man, faces four destructive elemental monsters while on holiday in Europe. Soon, he receives help from Mysterio, a fellow hero with mysterious origins.Rating: 75%
It's good. While Tom Holland has won me over as the best Spider-Man to grace the silver screens, these still don't feel like "Spider-Man" movies, which is a bit of a disservice. Also, Mysterio's motivation is a bit meh. The movie is a fun ride, and the cast continues to have fantastic chemistry. I do find myself starting to get tired of the Marvel formula, however. - DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsLeonardo DiCaprioBrad PittMargot RobbieAs Hollywood's Golden Age is winding down during the summer of 1969, television actor Rick Dalton and his stunt double Cliff Booth endeavor to achieve lasting success in Hollywood while meeting several colorful characters along the way.Rating: 92.5%
While the first act drags and some of the plot threads fail to keep me invested, Tarantino crafts a compelling narrative on what it takes to make it in Hollywood; pure luck. - DirectorAlfred HitchcockStarsJames StewartKim NovakBarbara Bel GeddesA former San Francisco police detective juggles wrestling with his personal demons and becoming obsessed with the hauntingly beautiful woman he has been hired to trail, who may be deeply disturbed.Rating: 81%
A relatively quiet Hitchcock movie compared his other filmography I've watched, Vertigo still impresses with its melodrama and climactic sequences - DirectorIngmar BergmanStarsBibi AnderssonLiv UllmannMargaretha KrookA nurse is put in charge of a mute actress and finds that their personae are melding together.Rating: 85%
A compelling film about what it means to have a personality and persona. Apart from that, much of this film is lost on me. Not a bad thing, honestly. It just means I need more time to sit and let this movie stew inside my mind, to understand the dynamic relationship between Alma and Elisabet better. Right now, I will say that Bergman constructs an interesting narrative with some of the most beautiful cinematography I have ever seen - DirectorVince GilliganStarsAaron PaulJonathan BanksMatt JonesFugitive Jesse Pinkman runs from his captors, the law, and his past.Rating: 84.5%
For what it does, El Camino is a great and satisfying epilogue for Breaking Bad
