Phineas and Ferb: Infinity War/Venom/Endgame
A sequel to Mission Marvel, this is another 50-minute crossover mini-movie like the Star Wars one that puts Phineas and Ferb characters in the story of a film from another universe while editing out all of the non-TV-G-rated parts of it. It will have Phineas, Ferb, Candace and others team up with the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and other superheroes to save the universe from Thanos. When Phineas and Ferb are given the red, yellow and green Infinity Stones for safekeeping by The Collector, Vision and Doctor Strange, Thanos hires Poofenplotz to track them down. Phineas and Ferb and Infinity War both have 22 main heroes and 1 main villain.
*=died/flaked in Infinity War
A-plot heroes: Phineas (with green time stone from Doctor Strange), Ferb, Mom, Dad, Baljeet, Buford, Irving, Albert, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man
B-plot heroes: Candace (with red reality stone from The Collector), Perry, Pinky, Stacy, Vanessa, Thor, Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Groot, Rocket, and Nebula
C-plot heroes: Isabella (with yellow soul stone from Vision), Jenny, Dr. Hirano, Katie, Millie, Adyson, Holly, Gretchen, Ginger, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, War Machine, Falcon, Vision, Scarlet Witch, The Winter Soldier, Black Panther
New Endgame heroes: Dr. Doofenshmirtz, Venom, She-Venom, Dora Skirth, Minor Monogram, Lyla Lolliberry, Hawkeye, Ant-Man
In Phineas and Ferb's version of Endgame, Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Venom set Ant-Man free from his quantum tunnel, there is no killing of Thanos before a 5-year time skip, and the remaining heroes go back in time to only get the three Infinity Stones Phineas and Ferb didn't originally have. While all of this is happening, Thanos and Poofenplotz get L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N., the Regurgitator, M.O.D.O.K. and Whiplash together for the final fight, and Perry, Minor Monogram and Lyla Lolliberry have to stop them. After Phineas, Candace and Jenny travel back a week in 2018 to convince their past selves to give them the Infinity Stones to use in the future because Ferb wasn't able to come back with them, the rest of the Phineas and Ferb characters go back to one of three other years to get the other three stones. In the present, Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Dr. Dora Skirth make an Un-Dust-inator to bring back Ferb, Vanessa and Stacy by reversing the flaking effect of the Infinity Gauntlet with the flakes they turned into that were salvaged by Phineas, Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Ginger.
Traveled back to 2012: Phineas, Candace, Mom, Dad, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Ant-Man
Traveled back to 2014: Buford, Eddie Brock, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Jenny, Albert, War Machine, Nebula
Traveled back to 1970 from 2012: Phineas, Mom, Iron Man, Captain America
Because they already have the red Infinity Stone from 2013, Thor and Rocket will have to stay behind with Dr. Hirano, Katie, Holly and Ginger, who have to watch the time machine in case it gets damaged and the others can't get back. They get into a lot of funny situations with the Recurring Raccoon when he steals the 3 Infinity Stones they already have, and Thor and Rocket have to get them back. Rocket Raccoon having to face off against the raccoon from Milo Murphy's Law has a lot of comedic potential.
The only people other than Stan Lee who reprise their roles from the movies because they don't have other voice actors in the Spider-Man, Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy cartoons are:
Infinity War: Tiffany Espensen,
Venom: Reid Scott, Jenny Slate,
Endgame: Seth Green, Michael Douglas, Abby Ryder Forston, and
Spiderverse: Kimiko Glenn.
Now, the cast list could change in the finale draft of my future script if some of the minor characters don't get any lines or there isn't any time for them, but this is how it will be for now until I get there.

Vincent Michael Martella was born in Rochester, New York, to Donna and Michael Martella, who owns a pizza chain. He was raised in Florida, and is of Italian descent.
Martella, responsible for breathing life into the animated character Phineas in the hit Disney Channel television show Phineas and Ferb, is no stranger to the entertainment industry. Jumpstarting his passion for performing and entertaining others through dance at age three, Vincent delivered his first live performance in The Nutcracker. Soon after, Martella was performing in school plays, appearing in local and National commercial spots, and training in acting, piano, and vocals. By age seven, Martella was already a big commodity in the Central Florida commercial market, working both print and national commercials.
During Martella's first trip to Los Angeles, he landed a guest spot on Fox's Cracking Up and Stacked, as well as a recurring role on Nickelodeon's Ned's Declassified, where he developed his own character for the role of "Scoop." The following summer, Vincent was cast in his first film role, acting opposite Rob Schneider in Deuce Bigelow: European Gigolo. In 2005, Martella landed one of his most notable roles as "Greg Wuliger" in the People's Choice and Golden Globe nominated comedy sitcom, Everybody Hates Chris, based loosely on comedian Chris Rock's childhood. During his four-year time with the show, Martella also had a role in the hit Universal Pictures film, Role Models, opposite Seann William Scott and Paul Rudd. Despite being a lead on Everybody Hates Chris, Martella was able to land another huge opportunity, being cast as "Phineas" in the hit animated Disney series, Phineas and Ferb. During his seven years voicing the main character, Martella also lent his vocals to all related Phineas and Ferb projects, Final Fantasy XIII, Batman video games and appeared in the television shows, R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour and The Mentalist.
Martella can most recently be found in the recurring role of "Patrick" in AMC's critically acclaimed series, The Walking Dead. He also can be found in the films McFarland, opposite Kevin Costner and Maria Bello and Clinger, in post-production. With impressive roles and extremely popular credits on his resume, it is clear that Martella's past, present, and future in the entertainment business is bright. Martella splits his time between residing in both Los Angeles and Florida.as Phineas- Actress

Born in Cheltenham, England, Richard Smith's family moved to Tauranga, New Zealand, in 1951 when his father, an accountant, decided to become a sheep farmer. Watching horror and science-fiction double features in nearby Hamilton, Smith added an interest in acting to his love of rock and roll. He moved back to England in 1964, tried singing, then became a movie stuntman and fringe theater actor. He changed his name to O'Brien (his beloved maternal grandmother's name) one day while on the phone to British Actors Equity, to avoid confusion with another Richard Smith. He met director Jim Sharman in 1972, when Sharman cast him in the dual roles of Apostle and Leper for the London stage production (transferred from Sharman's native Australia) of "Jesus Christ Superstar". Working again with Sharman on a production of Sam Shepard's "The Unseen Hand", O'Brien mentioned a new rock musical he'd been writing called "Rock Horror." The play went into rehearsals as "They Came from Denton High," and at Sharman's suggestion, was retitled "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" before opening in June 1973.as Dad- Art Department

After his time with those comedy troupes, McBrayer frequently appeared in sketches on Late Night with Conan O'Brien (1993) playing a series of stereotypical Southern characters. Diedrich Bader was born in Alexandria, Virginia, but moved to Paris, France, with his family at age two. While in the "City of Light" he developed an appreciation for movie legends like Fred Astaire and Charles Chaplin. So, when a fragile "Chaplin" movie reel burned in the theater's projector, four-year-old Bader hopped on stage and entertained the crowd with an imitation of the "Little Tramp." The standing ovation he received set the course for the rest of his life--he knew he wanted to perform.
He returned to the United States for high school and attended North Carolina School of the Arts. During spring break he was discovered by a casting director in Santa Fe, New Mexico. That meeting led to an audition for a small role in a TV pilot. Bader landed a starring role instead. Although the pilot wasn't picked up, Bader moved to Los Angeles and began auditioning for other roles. He landed guest spots on several series, including Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990), Cheers (1982) and Quantum Leap (1989). Filmmaker Penelope Spheeris liked his tongue-in-cheek delivery when he read for her action-adventure spoof series, Danger Theatre (1993). She hired him in that role and for the feature film The Beverly Hillbillies (1993), which she directed. Bader played the dual roles of twins Jethro and Jethrine Beaudine. He also filmed the political thriller The Assassination File (1996) for the Encore Entertainment Group. Bader was excited to work on the project, as it allowed him to be shot in the head -- a first for the actor. Bader's father, William, was Chief of Staff for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and is president of the Eurasia Foundation on Capitol Hill. His mother, Gretta, is a sculptor whose portrait of the late Sen. J. William Fulbright sits in the National Gallery in Washington, DC. Adrian Pasdar was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, to Rosemarie Pasdar (née Sbresny), who owns a travel agency, and Homayoon Pasdar, a prominent heart surgeon. His father is Iranian and his mother, who was born in Germany, is of German, and some Polish, descent. At the age of 2, his father moved the family to Powelton, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. In high school, he excelled at football, eventually leading to a football scholarship at the University of Florida in 1983. Football may have been a promising future, had it not been for a terrible accident during his freshman year that left his face scarred and his legs badly injured. A very driven Adrian finished his freshman year in a wheelchair, doing intensive physical therapy and turning his attention to campus stage productions and rediscovered a childhood interest in writing and acting. No longer able to play football, he dropped out of school and returned home, taking a job with a theater group "People's Light and Theatre Company". Here, he worked on sound, lighting and set construction. While constructing a set, he cut off the end of his left thumb. Adrian, having the ability to turn tragedy into triumph, used his medical compensation to pay for attendance at the famous Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. At the age of 19, he auditioned for a role in Top Gun (1986). Director Tony Scott was so impressed that he wrote the part of "Chipper" just for him. This led to bigger roles in Solarbabies (1986), Streets of Gold (1986), and Kathryn Bigelow's 1987 cult vampire movie Near Dark (1987), with Adrian in the lead role of "Caleb Colton". He also appeared in Vital Signs (1990). Adrian has always been an actor ahead of his time, opting for roles in independent and cable movies long before they were considered fashionable for feature actors to do. In 1992, feeling completely out-of-touch with reality, Adrian left Hollywood to return to New York. He worked as a cashier for room and board, while taking the occasional small part, such as "Frankie" in Brian De Palma's Carlito's Way (1993). Another major break came in 1995, when Adrian was cast as the title character on the short-lived Fox series Profit (1996). He continues to act in supporting roles and has now added directing to his already impressive body of work. He wrote and directed the short film Beyond Belief (1999) and also directed a feature film entitled Cement (2000).as Iron Man- Actor

Joe in 1989. Working as an on-air talent for radio station C.K.L.G. (L.G.73) quickly became less interesting as both on-camera and behind-the-microphone roles started taking up more time. Over the next decade and a half David's on camera roles burgeoned along with his vocal career. On camera opportunities came in the form of guest roles on numerous TV series and movies such as The X-Files, Battlestar Galactica and Happy Gilmore.
During this time David was being cast in some of the first of hundreds of animated shows and video games. So many, in fact, this now became the main focus of his career and he's never looked back.
David's biggest moment was when he was cast as Megatron in 1994 in the popular series 'Transformers'. As a new animation art form was taking off (bolstered by Mainframe Entertainment's C.G.I. advances), 'Beast Wars' was born ('Beasties' in Canada) and would run for three seasons of "...the most fun you could ever have!". Thus began an almost twenty-year relationship with the 'Transformers' franchise. In 2007, David became the only actor in the history of the franchise to play the lead villain AND the lead hero when he was cast as Optimus Prime for Cartoon Network's 'Transformers: Animated'.
Once again, David finds himself returning to a franchise he first engaged in years before. This time going back to the beginning with G.I. Joe. Not only can he be heard as Scarlett's father, but also introducing every episode as the narrator during the opening titles.
For fans of Anime, David was the voice behind Sesshomaru in the English dub of the original 'InuYasha' series, Treize Khushrenada in 'Mobile Suit Gundam Wing', Recoome in the original English dub of 'Dragon Ball Z', and as the high strung father, Soun Tendo in 'Ranma 1/2'. His anime work still brings fans to conventions to meet him.
After commuting between Vancouver and Los Angeles for almost a decade, a full-time move to L.A. was inevitable. Shortly after the move, David landed a role in Disney/Pixar's Oscar winning movie, 'Up'.
As the work keeps coming in, David's voice can be heard in Insomniac's 'Ratchet & Clank' video game series as the lovable robot Clank. He's also been featured as Mysterio in 'Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions', 'Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes' and 'Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order', Nick Fury and Captain America in 'Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2', Nathan Hale in 'Resistance', Logan Carter in 'Dead Island', Missing Link in 'Monsters vs. Aliens', and many more.
He has continued to work in cartoons, voicing Khyber in 'Ben 10: Omniverse' and Baby Reginald on 'Regular Show', as well as J.A.R.V.I.S., Vision and Baron Zemo on 'Avengers Assemble', Vandal Savage on 'Young Justice', Duckworth on 'DuckTales', and Grandpa Max in the reboot of 'Ben 10'. David also voices segments for the HBO news-satire program 'Last Week Tonight with John Oliver'.
With continuing commitments for movie trailers, network promotions for ABC, Fox, the CW, and a host of radio and television affiliates and a lot of commercial work, the days get a little tight from time to time, but he doesn't mind.as Vision* - Actress

Stan Lee was an American comic-book writer, editor, and publisher, who was executive vice president and publisher of Marvel Comics.
Stan was born in New York City, to Celia (Solomon) and Jack Lieber, a dress cutter. His parents were Romanian Jewish immigrants. Lee co-created Spider-Man, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Daredevil, Thor, the X-Men, and many other fictional characters, introducing a thoroughly shared universe into superhero comic books. In addition, he challenged the comics' industry's censorship organization, the Comics Code Authority, indirectly leading to it updating its policies. Lee subsequently led the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation.
He had cameo appearances in many Marvel film and television projects, with many yet to come, posthumously. A few of these appearances are self-aware and sometimes reference Lee's involvement in the creation of certain characters.
On 16 July 2017, Lee was named a Disney Legend, a hall of fame program that recognizes individuals who have made an extraordinary and integral contribution to The Walt Disney Company.

Ashleigh Ball is a Canadian voice actress and musician from Vancouver. As a musician, she is primarily known as a singer and flutist for the alternative rock band "Hey Ocean!" (2004-). As a voice actress she is primarily known for voicing two of the main characters of the long-running fantasy series "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" (2010-2019). She voiced the stubborn apple farmer Applejack and the overconfident speedster Rainbow Dash, both of them being tomboy characters. Ball voiced alternate reality versions of the two characters in four "Equestria Girls" films (2013-2016) and several television specials. These versions were depicted as adolescent musicians, with emerging magical powers.
Ball's first significant voice role was that of adolescent inventor Mary Test in the science fantasy series "Johhny Test". She voiced the character from 2006 to 2014, while the character was previously voiced by Brittney Wilson. For the same series, Ball voiced the character of Sissy Blakley, who served as both a rival and a love interest to the protagonist.
Ball voiced the accident-prone Oopsy Bear in the short-lived series "Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-lot" (2007-2008). It was the third television series based on the "Care Bares" franchise. Oopsy had been introduced in the computer-animated film "Care Bears: Oopsy Does It!" (2007), with Ball as his voice actress.
In 2008, Ball voiced recurring antagonist Kirstee in the second and last season of the series "Bratz" (2005-2008). Ball replaced Kaley Cuoco, who had voiced the character in the first season. Kirstee worked as an intern for fashion magazine "Your Thing", while the protagonists worked for a rival magazine. They antagonized each other for both personal and professional reasons.
Ball had the recurring role of Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff in the second season of the superhero series "Iron Man: Armored Adventures" (2009-2012). This version of the character was initially depicted as a professional thief. After being captured by the covert organization SHIELD, she was recruited into their ranks. She had been given the option of either working for them, or serving a long prison sentence.
Ball voiced regular character Plum Pudding in "Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bitty Adventures" (2010-2015). Her character was depicted as a professional dancer and the owner of her own dance studio. Plum had a competitive streak, and a quick temper. Ball also voiced Princess Allura in "Voltron Force" (2011-2012). This version of the character struggled between her duties as a pilot and as a head of state for the planet Arus. She eventually chose her niece Larmina as a replacement pilot.
Ball voiced co-protagonist Princess Talia in the English version of the magical girl series "LoliRock" (2014-2017). Talia was depicted as the most serious, disciplined, intelligent, and goal-oriented member of a team of magical girls. She blamed herself because her older sister Izira was defeated and captured by a foe, while Talia was attending a festival. She figured that she had to train hard in order to avenge her sister.
By 2022, Ball was 39-years-old. She has gained a cult following for her relatively high-profile voice roles. Fans of her voice acting have at times become interested in her music releases, and she has performed music at fan conventions. She has never stopped working regularly, and she seems to have no plans to retire yet.as Sally Avril- Actress

Danny Trejo was born Dan Trejo in Echo Park, Los Angeles, to Alice (Rivera) and Dan Trejo, a construction worker. A child drug addict and criminal, Trejo was in and out of jail for 11 years. While serving time in San Quentin, he won the lightweight and welterweight boxing titles. Imprisoned for armed robbery and drug offenses, he successfully completed a 12-step rehabilitation program that changed his life. While speaking at a Cocaine Anonymous meeting in 1985, Trejo met a young man who later called him for support. Trejo went to meet him at what turned out to be the set of Runaway Train (1985). Trejo was immediately offered a role as a convict extra, probably because of his tough tattooed appearance. Also on the set was a screenwriter who did time with Trejo in San Quentin. Remembering Trejo's boxing skills, the screenwriter offered him $320 per day to train the actors for a boxing match. Director Andrey Konchalovskiy saw Trejo training Eric Roberts and immediately offered him a featured role as Roberts' opponent in the film. A legendary actor with 50 celebrated years of film, television and producing experience, Michael Douglas is known for his era-defining roles and enduring cultural impact.
In addition to his career accomplishments, Douglas has remained a steadfast public servant, activist and philanthropist dedicated to peace and human welfare, democracy, gun control advocacy, support of the arts and support of nuclear disarmament. In 1998, former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan appointed Douglas as a Messenger of Peace for his commitment on disarmament issues, including nuclear non-proliferation and halting the illicit trade in small arms and light weapons.
Since his earliest acting work on Hail, Hero! (1969) and The Streets of San Francisco (1972) Douglas has played some of the most memorable and enigmatic American anti-heroes of the last half century. He is most known for his iconic screen roles, like his Academy Award-winning turn as Gordon Gekko Wall Street (1987) as well as the critically and commercially acclaimed films Fatal Attraction (1987), The American President (1995), Basic Instinct (1992), Traffic (2000) and Romancing the Stone (1984). He is also a prolific producer with credits on politically relevant and socially influential motion pictures like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975), The China Syndrome (1979), Traffic (2000) the television series: The Kominsky Method (2018) and an upcoming limited series where Douglas portrays Benjamin Franklin (2024) during his nine years in France lobbying for French aid for the American Revolution.
With a passion for complex protagonists and darkly humorous undercurrents, Douglas has received numerous accolades for his work, including two Academy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, AFI Life Achievement Award, two French César Awards for Career Achievement and, most recently, the Palme d'or d'honneur for lifetime achievement at the 76th Annual Festival de Cannes as well as the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Cinema at the Goa Film Festival in India.
Michael Douglas was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, to actors Diana Douglas (Diana Love Dill) and Kirk Douglas (born Issur Danielovitch). His paternal grandparents were Belarusian Jewish immigrants, while his mother was born in Bermuda, the daughter of a local Attorney General, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Melville Dill; Diana's family had long been established in both Bermuda and the United States. Douglas's parents divorced when he was six, and he went to live with his mother and her new husband. Only seeing Kirk on holidays, Michael attended Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, Massachusetts, where he was about a year younger than all of his classmates.
Douglas attended the elite preparatory Choate School and spent his summers with his father on movie sets. Although accepted at Yale, Douglas attended the University of California, Santa Barbara. Deciding he wanted to be an actor in his teenage years, Michael often asked his father about getting a "foot in the door" Kirk was strongly opposed to Michael pursuing an acting career, saying that it was an industry with many downs and few ups, and that he wanted all four of his sons to stay out of it. Michael, however, was persistent, and made his film debut in his father's film Cast a Giant Shadow (1966).
After receiving his B.A. degree in 1968, Douglas moved to New York City to continue his dramatic training, studying at the American Place Theatre with Wynn Handman, and at the Neighborhood Playhouse, where he appeared in workshop productions of Pirandello's Six Characters in Search of an Author (1976) and Thornton Wilder's Happy Journey (1963). A few months after he arrived in New York, Douglas got his first big break, when he was cast in the pivotal role of the free-spirited scientist who compromises his liberal views to accept a lucrative job with a high-tech chemical corporation in the CBS Playhouse production of Ellen M. Violett's drama, The Experiment, which was televised nationwide on February 25, 1969.
Douglas' convincing portrayal won him the leading role in the adaptation of John Weston's controversial novel, Hail, Hero! (1969), which was the initial project of CBS's newly organized theatrical film production company, Cinema Center Films. Douglas starred as a well-meaning, almost saintly young pacifist determined not only to justify his beliefs to his conservative parents but also to test them under fire in the jungles of Indochina. His second feature, Adam at Six A.M. (1970) concerned a young man's search for his roots. Douglas next appeared in the film version of Ron Cowen's play Summertree (1971), produced by 'Kirk Douglas'' Bryna Company, and then Napoleon and Samantha (1972), a sentimental children's melodrama from the Walt Disney studio.
In between film assignments, he worked in summer stock and off-Broadway productions, among them "City Scenes," Frank Gagliano's surrealistic vignettes of contemporary life in New York, John Patrick Shanley's short-lived romance "Love is a Time of Day" and George Tabori's "Pinkville," in which he played a young innocent brutalized by his military training. He also appeared in the made-for-television thriller, "When Michael Calls," broadcast by ABC-TV on February 5, 1972 and in episodes of the popular series "Medical Center" and "The F.B.I."
Impressed by Douglas' performance in a segment of The F.B.I. (1965), producer 'Quinn Martin' signed the actor for the part of Karl Malden's sidekick in the police series "The Streets of San Francisco", which premiered in September 1972 and became one of ABC's highest-rated prime-time programs in the mid-1970s. Douglas earned three successive Emmy Award nominations for his performance and he directed two episodes of the series.
During the annual breaks in the shooting schedule for The Streets of San Francisco (1972), Douglas devoted most of his time to his film production company, Big Stick Productions, Ltd., which produced several short subjects in the early 1970s. Long interested in producing a film version of Ken Kesey's grimly humorous novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975), Douglas purchased the movie rights from his father and began looking for financial backing. After a number of major motion picture studios turned him down, Douglas formed a partnership with Saul Zaentz, a record industry executive, and the two set about recruiting the cast and crew. Douglas still had a year to go on his contract for "The Streets of San Francisco," but the producers agreed to write his character out of the story so that he could concentrate on filming "Cuckoo's Nest."
A critical and commercial success, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor and Best Actress, and went on to gross more than $180 million at the box office. Douglas suddenly found himself in demand as an independent producer. One of the many scripts submitted to him for consideration was Mike Gray's chilling account of the attempted cover-up of an accident at a nuclear power plant. Attracted by the combination of social relevance and suspense, Douglas immediately bought the property. Deemed not commercial by most investors, Douglas teamed up with Jane Fonda and her own motion picture production company, IPC Films.
A Michael Douglas-IPC Films co-production, The China Syndrome (1979) starred Jack Lemmon, Jane Fonda, and Michael Douglas and received Academy Award nominations for Lemmon and Fonda, as well as for Best Screenplay. The National Board of Review named the film one of the best films of the year.
Despite his success as a producer, Douglas resumed his acting career in the late 1970s, starring in Michael Crichton's medical thriller Coma (1978) with Genevieve Bujold, Claudia Weill's feminist comedy It's My Turn (1980) starring Jill Clayburgh, and Peter Hyams' gripping tale of modern-day vigilante justice, "The Star Chamber" (1983). Douglas also starred in Running (1979), as a compulsive quitter who sacrifices everything to take one last shot at the Olympics, and as Zach the dictatorial director/choreographer in Richard Attenborough's screen version of the Broadway's longest running musical A Chorus Line (1985).
Douglas' career as an actor/producer came together again in 1984 with the release of the tongue-in-cheek romantic fantasy "Romancing the Stone." Douglas had begun developing the project several years earlier, and with Kathleen Turner as Joan Wilder, the dowdy writer of gothic romances, Danny DeVito as the feisty comic foil Ralphie and Douglas as Jack Colton, the reluctant soldier of fortune. "Romancing the Stone" was a resounding hit and grossed more than $100 million at the box office. Douglas was named Producer of the Year in 1984 by the National Association of Theater Owners. Douglas, Turner and DeVito teamed up in 1985 for the successful sequel The Jewel of the Nile (1985).
It took Douglas nearly two years to convince Columbia Pictures executives to approve the production of Starman (1984), an unlikely tale of romance between an extraterrestrial, played by Jeff Bridges, and a young widow, played by Karen Allen. Starman (1984) was the sleeper hit of the 1984 Christmas season and earned an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for Jeff Bridges. In 1986 Douglas created a television series based on the film for ABC which starred Robert Hays.
After a lengthy break from acting, Douglas returned to the screen in 1987 appearing in two of the year's biggest hits.
