Captivating, gifted, and sensational, Angela Bassett's presence has been felt in theaters and on stages and television screens throughout the world. Angela Evelyn Bassett was born on August 16, 1958 in New York City, to Betty Jane (Gilbert), a social worker, and Daniel Benjamin Bassett, a preacher's son. Bassett and her sister D'nette grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida with their mother. As a single mother, Betty stressed the importance of education for her children. With the assistance of an academic scholarship, Bassett matriculated into Yale University. In 1980, she received her B.A. in African-American studies from Yale University. In 1983, she earned a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the Yale School of Drama. It was at Yale that Bassett met her husband, Courtney B. Vance, a 1986 graduate of the Drama School.
Bassett first appeared in small roles on The Cosby Show (1984) and Spenser: For Hire (1985), but it was not until 1990 that a spate of television roles brought her notice. Her breakthrough role, though, was playing Tina Turner, whom she had never seen perform before taking the role, in What's Love Got to Do with It (1993). Bassett's performance earned her an Academy Award nomination and a Golded Globe Award for Best Actress.- Actor

As Danny Elfman was growing up in the Los Angeles area, he was largely unaware of his talent for composing. It wasn't until the early 1970s that Danny and his older brother Richard Elfman started a musical troupe while in Paris; the group "Mystic Knights of Oingo-Boingo" was created for Richard's directorial debut, Forbidden Zone (1980) (now considered a cult classic by Elfman fans). The group's name went through many incarnations over the years, beginning with "The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo" and eventually just Oingo Boingo. While continuing to compose eclectic, intelligent rock music for his L.A.-based band (some of which had been used in various film soundtracks, e.g. Weird Science (1985)), Danny formed a friendship with young director Tim Burton, who was then a fan of Oingo Boingo. Danny went on to score the soundtrack of Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985), Danny's first orchestral film score. The Elfman-Burton partnership continued (most notably through the hugely-successful "Batman" flicks) and opened doors of opportunity for Danny, who has been referred to as "Hollywood's hottest film composer".- Producer

Angus T. Jones is a former child actor from Austin, Texas. He is mainly remembered for playing co-protagonist Jake Harper in the first 10 seasons of the hit sitcom "Two and a Half Men". He played the role regularly for a decade, from 2003 to 2013. He won two Young Artist Awards for his role, and he was nominated for a third one.
He made his film debut in the crime film "Simpatico" (1999), which depicted a former con-man attempting to retaliate against two partners who had abandoned him. Jones played the dog-loving boy James McGuire in the comedy "See Spot Run" (2001), in what was his first significant film role. His character was able to teach a trained FBI dog to relax and play, like normal dogs.
In the sports drama "The Rookie" (2002), Jones portrayed Hunter Morris. His character was the son of professional baseball player Jim Morris (1964-), and looked up to his father. The character was based on Jim Morris' real-life son. Jones also had the small role of the protagonist's son in the romantic comedy "Bringing Down the House" (2003). His character had reading difficulties. He overcame them with the help of his nanny, Charlene Morton (played by Queen Latifah), who managed to gain the boy's trust.
In the comedy film "George of the Jungle 2" (2003), Jones portrayed George Jr., the Prince of the Jungle. His character was depicted as the son of "king" George of the Jungle (played by Christopher Showerman) and "queen" Ursula Stanhope (played by Julie Benz). The film was loosely based on the short-lived animated series "George of the Jungle" (1967) by Jay Ward and Bill Scott. The film was released direct-to-video, unlike the first live-action adaptation of the series.
Jones gained his first major television role in 2003, when cast as Jake Harper in "Two and a Half Men". His character was the young son of divorced parents. Jake was jointly raised by his financially-struggling father Alan Harper (played by Jon Cryer), and his hedonistic uncle Charlie Harper (played by Charlie Sheen). Jake was initially portrayed as a relatively bright boy, but rather naive and absent-minded. As the character grew older, Jake was increasingly depicted as dimwitted, lazy, and gluttonous. The sitcom enjoyed high ratings, and Jones became a household name.
By 2010, "Two and a Half Men". had become the most popular sitcom in the United States. That year, Jones signed a new contract. He was guaranteed payment of 7.8 million dollars over the next two seasons, amounting to 300,000 dollars for each of the 26 episodes. At the time, he was the highest paid child star in television.
During the sitcom's 9th season (2011-2012), Jake's character was revised. The adolescent was depicted as a habitual user of marijuana. He was also depicted as promiscuous, and involved in sexual relationships with older women. In March 2012, Jones stated in a public appearance that he was uncomfortable with these changes in the portrayal of his character.
By the autumn of 2012, Jones had converted to Christianity. He also joined a Seventh-day Adventist church, though it was not affiliated with the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists (the official representative of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists). Jones publicly criticized the sitcom as "filth" which contradicted his moral values, and expressed his frustration with having to continue appearing in it. At the time, filming for most of his appearances in the 10th season had been completed.
Jones left the sitcom at the end of the 2012-2013 season. Initially there were plans for him to make guest appearances in the 11th season of the sitcom, but he did not participate in any of its episodes. In March 2014, Jones officially confirmed the end of his involvement in the series. In 2015, Jones agreed to participate in a few scenes for the series finale. In the episode, Jake informs his father that he has married a Japanese dancer, and that he has two stepchildren of his own.
Following his departure from "Two and a Half Men", Jones started attending classes at the University of Colorado Boulder. It is a public research university, active since 1876. It has offered mixed-sex education since the 1870s. In 2016, Jones accepted a management position in the production company Tonite. The company had recently been established. It had been co-founded by Justin Combs, a son of the record producer Sean Combs. Jones and the younger Combs had been friends for several years, before agreeing to work together.
By 2022, Jones was 29-years-old. He has mostly retired from acting, and he has pursued a business career. Jones has stayed away from the spotlight for several years. His fame persists due to the enduring popularity of his long-running sitcom. He has kept his private life out of the public eye.- Actress

Micky Dolenz was born in Los Angeles on March 8, 1945. His dad, George, had starred in a number of films, and played the title character in the mid-1950s television series The Count of Monte Cristo.
Micky first established himself as a performer at age ten when, under the stage name of 'Mickey Braddock,' he starred in his first TV series, Circus Boy, which aired from 1956 to 1958. In his teens, Micky guest-starred on a number of television shows. He also learned to play guitar and performed with a number of rock 'n roll bands, including one called The Missing Links.
In autumn 1965, Micky was one of 400 applicants who responded to a trade ad announcing auditions for a new TV show about a rock band. Micky auditioned for The Monkees TV show playing Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode," and was chosen along with three other actors - Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork.
The Monkees' debut single, "Last Train to Clarksville," featuring Micky on lead vocals, hit the charts September 10, 1966 and rocketed to number one. Two days later,
The television show debuted on NBC to great success. The TV ratings remained high for two seasons and Micky and the band starred in their own feature film, Head, a 1968 psychedelic romp co-written by a young Jack Nicholson. The movie is now considered a cult classic.
Ultimately, The Monkees achieved their greatest success as recording artists selling in excess of 65 million units and achieving worldwide success.
Their first four albums-The Monkees (1966); More of the Monkees (1967);
Headquarters (1967); and Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd. (1967) reached number one on the charts and launched three number-one singles: "Last Train to Clarksville," "I'm a Believer" (with lead vocals by Micky), and "Daydream Believer." The group's first five albums also went gold.
In 1977, Micky flew to London to star in Harry Nilsson's West End Musical, The Point! He planned to stay three months but remained for twelve years. During that time, Micky honed his behind-the-camera skills (which he first practiced by directing several TV episodes of The Monkees) as producer-director for the BBC and London Weekend Television. He also directed a short feature film, The Box, written by Michael Palin and Terry Jones of Monty Python, and helmed numerous music videos.
In 1986, MTV broadcast episodes of The Monkees show and exposed a whole new generation to 'Monkeemania.' Micky and Peter Tork recorded new tracks for Arista Records and the single, "That Was Then, This Is Now," became their first Top 20 record since 1968. Micky, Peter and Davy Jones subsequently reunited for a 1986 summer tour that was so successful it sparked the reissue of all The Monkees' classic LPs as well as Pool It! on Rhino Records. At one point in 1987, there were seven Monkees' albums on Billboard's Top 200 LP's Chart. In 1996, The Monkees again joined together, this time for a "30 Year Reunion" summer tour around America. The response was so great that they also toured the following year, this time finishing up in England.
When Micky returned to the United States, he went out on the road with the National Touring Company of Grease. Micky enjoyed musical theater so much that he accepted the lead role in a Canadian production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum in 1993, and in 2004 he starred in Elton John's Broadway musical Aida, as Zoser.
In 1993, Micky's autobiography I'm A Believer; My Life Of Monkees, Music, And Madness (Hyperion/Disney) was released. In addition to writing, Micky has divided his time between acting (The Drew Carey Show, Days Of Our Lives, and General Hospital); directing (Boy Meets World for ABC/Disney and Pacific Blue for USA Networks); and touring with his own band featuring his sister, Coco Dolenz.
In 2005 Dolenz was also on WCBS FM as an on-air personality, and released his first children's book Gakky Two-Feet (Penguin), as well as Micky Dolenz' Rock & Riollin' Trivia (Square One Publishers). He also appeared in the revival of Pippin'.
In March 2007, it was announced that Micky would appear in Rob Zombie's Halloween remake as 'Derek Allen' - a gun-shop owner.
Also, Micky was featured in VH1's recent Rock Doc Monterey Pop At 40, and in CMT's Gone Country, alongside George Clinton; Taylor Dane; and, Sheila E.
Micky began 2010 with a run in the West End production of the play Hairspray; playing the character of 'Wilbur Turnblad.'
Micky's album, King For A Day; is a tribute to the songs of Carole King (Gigatone Records) was released August 31 2010.
The three Monkees (Micky, Davy and Peter) re-group for a worldwide tour beginning in June of 2011. Spanning both England and the U.S., the group garnered some of their best reviews ever - even from Rolling Stone magazine. The reviews on Dolenz were particularly impressive- the review in the Huffington Post compared his voice to a brilliant-cross between Roy Orbison and Freddie Mercury. The close of the tour, held at L.A.'s Greek Theatre was especially joyous; as fans and friends turned out for the event. They also appeared in August on the nationally broadcast talkfest The View, with Dolenz's old compatriot Whoopi Goldberg as one of the hosts.
In 2012, word leaked out that Micky was beginning (or, finishing) a yet, untitled solo album. The only concept revealed was that each of the songs was to represent a particular moment in Dolenz's life. The album Remember (Robo Records-Universal) will be released on September 25, 2012. Then, while in New York, preparing for a possible new role in a musical called Garage Band, Davy Jones unexpectedly passed away. With a series of tributes scheduled, one done in early April at B.B. King's in New York, Micky spent the summer of 2012 on a series of solo shows with his band and as part of the 2012 Happy Together Tour. Micky will also record a live album on October 19, 2012, at B.B. King's in NYC; and, will re-group in November with mates Micahel Nesmith and Peter Tork for a series of Monkee-reunion shows.- Actress
