Brando.
One of the greatest film actors of all time - for the most part. Marlon Brando came onto the acting scene at a time when there was a new approach to acting in America. Although there were others who played a significant role in re-inventing film acting, Brando was the forerunner. His raw and unpretentious approach was something no one had witnessed before. The 1950s was the decade which saw him produce his finest work in cinema. Unfortunately, his latter years were marred by poor film choices, an unwillingness to learn his dialogue, greed and an increasing contempt for Hollywood and acting in general. His former greatness only showed itself sporadically. However, he has continued to be an influence upon some fellow actors. Jack Nicholson, Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino, being amongst them. Fortunately, Marlon Brando has still left a legacy that can be enjoyed by new and old fans alike.
