Video Game Reviews(Campaigns)
All games containing a campaign, reviewed. I try to keep games close to their series, but sometimes there installments come later on or I just don’t have the money to buy them. Even though some of these games have an online factor, I look to only giving my thoughts on the story. Anyways, enjoy my input!

- StarsBenjamin Byron DavisRoger ClarkRob WiethoffAmidst the decline of the Wild West at the turn of the 20th century, outlaw Arthur Morgan and his gang struggle to cope with the loss of their way of life.Absolutely the best game I’ve ever played. Nothing has ever made me get this close to a character before. Yes, I still have other favorites with connective characters, but Arthur Morgan is a whole different situation. You’re putting the most dynamic character I’ve ever seen in a video game in a game set in Western times. How wouldn’t that be amazing. 11/10, outstanding work Rockstar

This game was that a lot of the time. But, if it didn’t have actual fun gunplay, interesting customization, and a kick-ass ending, I wouldn’t of rated it an 8

What she discovers will shock her and fascinate her.I don’t know if it’s just me (seeing how this has a 6.7/10 on here) but damn I love these types of games. They show so little and it lets your imagination run wild. I feel though that the reason people didn’t like it was because they had to pay money for it, while I got it for free for Games With Gold...

Make every bullet count or the world dies with you. Some games on this list will have been played somewhere earlier in my kiddy days of the early 2010’s. This game is a prime example of one. Now, does it still hold up? Well, kinda. The game is still pretty fun, especially the bullet cams. But Jesus it can get very annoying with the dumb af NPC’s and the “by the books” story. Still, it’s a solid 7/10 for mostly its gameplay...
- DirectorTim LongoStarsTemuera MorrisonAndrew ChaikinRaphael SbargeYou play a Republic clone commando who leads an elite strike team in the Clone Wars.Surprisingly enough, this game was actually better than expected. I ended up getting this for free as well as Gone Home so I had low expectations. After playing, this game is different from other Star Wars games since it focuses on the actually warfare rather than Jedi fighting, which makes it more like Rainbow Six: Vegas or some COD titles, which is also a good and bad thing with being repetitive and having the enemies annoying as hell...
- DirectorMo DavoudianStarsJohn DiMaggioCarlos FerroLester SpeightMankind's desperate struggle for survival against a the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the planet's core.To be fair, you can go into the Gears series in general and expect a realistic, war shooter. Yes, it’s pretty realistic for a game with ugly, underground creatures taking over the world, but it still has this “fake” flair that brings it all together. To sum up the 1st entry in the series, id say that it doesn’t really pick up until around the 2nd Act, but even before that, it’s a game that has no reason not to be all types of awesome
- StarsJohn DiMaggioCarlos FerroFred TatascioreMarcus Fenix and his COG Delta Squad fight against the Locust army to prevent them from sinking the cities of planet Sera.I think at a story standpoint, this game is better. With gunplay, the first can rein supreme. Personally, even if this game may not be as good as the 1st, it has a soft spot in my heart since I used to sneak onto my dad’s Xbox 360 and play this. So it’s gets a little extra “oomf”, but I’m not being too biased, cause that’s cheating!
- StarsJohn DiMaggioCarlos FerroFred TatascioreWith survivors scattered and civilization in ruins, time is running out for Sergeant Marcus Fenix and his Delta Squad. There are few games out there that capture the inner child of me. To get to this inner being within me, kicking a creature to the ground and ripping its guts out with a chainsaw bayonet is a good place to start. This game, man, it just hits all the right notes. Good action, good story, amazing acting. What more could you want. Now I’m wondering how Epic could come off this amazing game with Judgment, since I’ve yet to give it a fair go. Here’s to hoping it’s another good installment
- DirectorChris BordersStarsFred TatascioreLester SpeightAli HillisSet years before the events of the previous "Gear of War" trilogy, the story centers on Kilo Squad, a troop of soldiers led by Damon Baird as they attempt to save the besieged city of Halvo Bay from a terrifying new enemy. It’s sad how this game wasn’t Gears 3 DLC, cause it feels like the developers just took the same game of the amazing Gears 3 and added like a couple new things. The gameplay, per usual, is very solid but the level designs and the characters kinda suck. Definitely the worst of the series so far, then again, I still have Gears 4 to play...
- DirectorRod FergussonStarsLiam McIntyreLaura BaileyEugene Byrd25 years after the events of Gears of War 3 (2011), a new breed of monsters called "The Swarm" threatens the remaining inhabitants of Sera. Marcus Fenix and a new generation of Gears are the last hope to ensure the survival of their species. For starters, it’s better than Judgment. But, it’s probably placed a little behind the 1st game. The gameplay has been changed up but it’s a good change that I can get into. The characters, well, they can’t rip the OG’s but they’re ok. My biggest gripe to why this has an 8 and not a 9 is because of the entire “main” mission to find Kait’s mother. Her character annoys the hell out of me and I don’t know why. That’s what really ruined the game for me. Also, The Swarm actually creep me out, so good job on “The Coalition” for making a good enemy like The Locust
- DirectorPatrick MetheStarsGreg BrykMark PellegrinoSeamus DeverA deputy is sent to the town of Hope County to arrest Joseph Seed, a corrupt evangelical religious leader who rules the town with the help of his disturbed followers. This was a game that I beat with a good friend of mine. Him and I decided to go back and try all endings (since we already loved this game a lot) and we found that the good one, was the one with a goddamn *bleep*! Oh yea, I shouldn’t spoil that, even though FC: New Dawn exists. All in all, good, solid co-op action with craziness too. Just the endings could of been better...
- DirectorTom KeeganStarsGideon EmeryGlenn MorshowerThor EdgellStep into the role of the elite U.S. Marines and experience heart-pounding single player missions and competitive multiplayer action ranging across diverse locations from around the globe. For the Battlefield series, I usually only play for the crazy ass multiplayer it offers. But for the campaign reviews, well, I can only look at the campaigns. So, BF3’s campaign is a very realistic depiction of war with bits of fiction put in there for dramatization. The campaign does has some fun moments, but I often felt bored of the too long missions and the same formula recycled for most missions. Follow squad, shoot bad guys, cutscene. Some games get away with this, but others like BF3 make it stick out like a sore thumb...
- DirectorLars GustavssonTom KeeganStarsAndrew ByronElena Nikitina BickDaniel CurshenIn Battlefield 4, players once again step into the role of the U.S. Marines. They will experience nail biting single player missions and competitive multiplayer action ranging from areas across the world. The BF series has been known to have weak campaigns, and even if that mostly stays true, BF4 really does push the edge of other good modern campaigns like the COD: MW series. Yes, this game is nowhere near being that good, but having destruction after destruction in many unique ways does put a smile on my face. The worst part by far could either be the dialogue and the missions. The main ideas of each mission is usually to take out baddies for 20+ Mins until the game ends it for you. Still, very entertaining campaign so kudos to DICE and EA
- DirectorIan MilhamStarsAlexandra DaddarioKelly HuLaura BaileyCriminals and police officers fighting for and against the law.As of right now, this is the lowest rated campaign I’ve reviewed. Hardline really didn’t grab like like it wanted to do. The characters weren’t all bad but some of their lines didn’t fit at all. The action went for more of a sneaky approach, while still offering the traditional BF gun play, which didn’t bother me too much. But the missions felt rushed, the story went nowhere besides, “yo, this guy is a dirty cop, let’s go after him”. And the ending, man, what a missed opportunity. They could of went in and added something like an epilogue to show the actions of what Nick chose. For sure the weakest campaign of the series

Experience large-scale battles as infantry or piloting vehicles on land, air and sea, from the tanks and bikes on the ground, to bi-planes and gigantic battleships. After Hardline, I started to feel like EA lost its touch with campaigns. Then I played it, and OMFG it was amazing. Every Story had great characters that were so developed for only having a good hour tops to get in your heart. My personal fav story was “The Runner”. Something about the story always had me attached to the main characters. I felt like I was starting to go back to my RD2 days were I was obsessed with being Arthur. All in all, amazing campaign. EA and DICE truly found a good way to structure their stories
- DirectorPelle HallertEric HolmesArmando TroisiStarsAnders HeinrichsenAndreas WarmbrunnCraig FairbrassEnter mankind's greatest conflict with Battlefield V as the series goes back to its roots with a never-before-seen portrayal of World War 2.Well shit. Remember when I said Hardline was the lowest rated campaign so far, well that didn’t last too long. This one really disappointed me. I expect such more from the team that brought us BF1. BF1!!!! None of the stories connected with me, compared to BF1 where basically all had their moment. The only fun one I enjoyed was the German one and the British one. Yea I already forgot the titles. EA and DICE ended the series off with a bad dud. Here’s to hoping BF6 is way better than this...
- DirectorSean AinsworthNick HermanDennis LenartStarsDave FennoyMelissa HutchisonNick HermanIn a world devastated by the undead, a convicted criminal is given a second chance at life when he comes across a little girl named Clementine.Telltale made it so every little piece of dialogue ends up meaning something in the end. In TWD Season 1, that whole “game is tailored by how you play” gimmick makes the game so much better than Telltale’s previous outings. Now the best episode is 5 for sure, but 2 is also up there. The worst is only ep 1 just because it’s purely exposition for Lee. And the ending takes the cake, and it’s up there with Arthur Morgan’s fate from RD2. Games that make me cry from how impactful the death is deserves to get huge props, so good on Telltale and Skybound
- DirectorSean AinsworthStarsAnthony LamCissy JonesJace SmykilCentered on a truck stop on a Georgia highway, "400 Days" tells five linked stories; each taking place at different points in time and from the point of view of a different survivor, from day 2 of the undead apocalypse to day 400.I’m going to keep 400 Days’ review short since it’s basically small DLC to hype up Season 2. Obviously none of the characters connected with me like Lee and Clem, but they weren’t all bad. Wyatt and Bonnie are my personal fav stories. Not bad, just not a good thing to follow the ending of Ep 5...
- DirectorSean AinsworthJason LatinoDennis LenartStarsMelissa HutchisonScott PorterMara JunotLeft to fend for herself, Clementine has been forced to learn how to survive in a world gone mad. Many months have passed and she is in search of safety.Telltale does it again with Season 2. Everything that didn’t work in the 1st is vastly approved upon and upgraded so it feels like a completely new world. Yes, not seeing Lee does suck, but Clem is still a great character with tons of choices that really do impact the player and Clem herself. Once again, I did cry from my picked ending, and I’m glad I did. That shows how invested I was in the characters. I understand that Season 3 is nowhere near as good as these 2, but hopefully there is still some good moments sprinkled in there...
- DirectorRebekah GaminJason LatinoChris RebbertStarsJeff SchineMelissa HutchisonCarlos AntonioA teenage Clementine and a new survivor named Javier are brought together when a new threat worse than the dead arises.Once again, Telltale games goes off what made the last 2 amazing, and updates it for a newer audience. Sadly, it’s not as good as the last two though. The characters are a lot more stale and the flashbacks after Ep1 tend to get boring. But, the choices is what I think elevate this to a 9. Every choice felt like it always had a sad outcome. My fav ep goes to Ep5, but I gotta give props to Ep1, since it’s the first time I never found myself bored in the first Ep. I’m excited to see where Season 4 goes. Hopefully with more improvements to the series (RIP Telltale)...

Charles WilkersonHolly UlothAfter losing his niece in an assassination attempt, Aiden Pierce, a street-smart vigilante, uses hacking apps on his phone to take over a new operating system in Chicago to hunt the criminals that killed his niece.I remember when Ubisoft showed off this game at E3. The graphics looked way too advanced for any console to handle. Then it came out in 2014. When then realized that Ubi used those graphics to appeal to the audience. Surprisingly though, I enjoyed Watch Dogs. It’s not the Rockstar-like game Ubisoft probably wanted, but it has enough fun ideas and a decent story to carry yourself through the game without getting too bored. The main protagonist Aiden Pearce is gritty and cliché, but to me that is what makes him fun. He’s not anything special, but his attitude fits with the gloomy downtown Chicago. It’s funny that this game is so dark and sad, but in WD2 you can go around taking selfies with random people...
- DirectorDanny BélangerJonathan MorinStarsRuffin PrentissShawn BaichooTasya TelesIn San Francisco, hacker Marcus Holloway joins DedSec, to take down a corrupt system by fighting and hacking his way through the entire San Francisco Bay.It’s definitely better than Watch Dogs 1, that’s for sure. Once they found out that WD1 was alittle too dark and serious, they went for more of a teen approach for the sequel, and it did help a lot. The main character is Marcus, and obviously he is nowhere as serious as Aiden Pearce. I liked it though. The personality of everyone in this game was sometimes serious, but they often joked around and had a good time, and that usually makes the player’s experience nice and welcome. But, the story was a lot more weaker this time around. I found the ending more tame than WD1, and I get what they went for, but the payoff seemed Anti-Climatic...
- DirectorKen LevineStarsJohn AhlinGreg BaldwinJane BellerIn 1960, a lone survivor of a plane crash named Jack discovers an abandoned underwater utopia, only to find out that the mystery behind its creation is much more sinister than he first believed. It’s something about the atmosphere of the first 2 Bioshock games (nothing against Bioshock: Infinite of course). It’s so dreary and grim, but yet there is a sense of happiness somewhere in there. This game has it all if your a fan of a somewhat soft survival FPS. I say “somewhat” cause I found myself shooting through all the enemies. But, the characters, the twist, the ending, the gameplay, they all feel like a lot of care went into them. And with hard work, comes a game that is worthy of a 10 from me
- DirectorJordan ThomasMichael CsuricsStarsFenella WoolgarDoug BoydAnne BobbyIn 1968, the first successfully-bonded Big Daddy is reawakened to save his Little Sister from the clutches of Rapture's new leader, Sofia Lamb.I played Bioshock 2 completely different from its predecessor. Instead of being the good guy, I went for a more “gotta do what you gotta do” approach. Yes, I may of harvested all little sisters and killed a few NPC’s, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to survive. The gameplay here has been improved from the first, but the characters aren’t the same. Yes, there are some good ones like Sinclair and Lamb, but the mysterious ones like Fontaine or Ryan aren’t present. And the beginning is a big drag. I found myself dying since I had no money and a rivet gun that ran out of bullets all the time. But the game is still great, and it may not be a 10, but it’s still another solid entry in the series

So, I had to check it out. And honestly, it’s just the normal Bioshock formula in a new setting with some more interesting characters. It’s not bad or anything, just not anything different. The ending was a nice, different touch compared to the last two just having the protagonists get to the surface. Yes, that is what happens as well in the ending, but there’s more to the story. All in all, nothing special, but good none the less
- DirectorKen LevineStarsTroy BakerCourtnee DraperKiff VandenHeuvelA man is sent to the flying city of Columbia to find a missing girl. However, upon arrival he discovers that the city, its people, and his objective are all not what they seem.Hands down my favorite Single Player FPS of all time. Now you may be wondering, what about Red Dead 2? That game is also my favorite game of all time, but it’s not a FPS (not technically). Infinite takes the solid BioShock formula and improves on it, updating it from the Underwater city. As much as I love the first, nothing can top the gameplay, voice acting, story, and ending, even if it’s balls to the wall confusing. And Booker is such a badass character, taking your traditional good guy and adding a bit of mysterious elements to him. Ken Levine is a master at this stuff. So, where’s Bioshock 4?
- DirectorKen LevineStarsTroy BakerMichael NavarraCourtnee Draper1958. After the events of BioShock Infinite (2013) and on the eve of the civil war that will destroy the underwater city, Elizabeth goes to Rapture to find Booker DeWitt and offers him her help to investigate the disappearance of an orphan girl.PART 1: Burial at Sea’s main idea was to entice players back into the world of Rapture, and Part 1 does that quite well. The story hear is just as strong as the main campaign. But, I found myself struggling to find any ammo to even shoot anyone, and that was annoying. Also, that ending was amazing. Good way to keep me interested in P2
PART 2: Both endings from this DLC were amazing, but P2 is by far the best. It was a great way to wrap up a series. But with the gameplay, it goes for stealth over guns blazing, which was nice since I’ve been mowing people down as Booker. This part made it a 10. It was a great and entertaining piece of add-on - DirectorJens MatthiesStarsBrian BloomAlicja BachledaGideon EmeryAfter regaining consciousness following an injury sustained in World War II, legendary American commando, B.J. Blazkowicz, awakens from a coma in a dystopian Nazi dominated world of 1960s. He tries to locate the remnants of the resistance.Combining over-the-top gore and violence with an actual coherent story, The New Order brings the Wolfenstein series back from the dead. Instead of making protagonist B.J. Blazkowich a total meathead, MachineGames uses clever flashbacks and inner monologue to tell his own unique story. Plus, the ending boss battles are very awesome and different from your average shooter. I loved how you could just randomly duel-wield guns for no reason. They don’t really help you kill baddies, but damn they do look cool...
- StarsBrian BloomGabrielle ScharnitzkyLilli FichtnerSet in 1946, follows a man as he tries to discover the locations of a Nazi compound and sabotage Helga Von Schabbs's plans. From how the game plays, you can tell the developers didn’t try as hard as they did with the other entries. Not that The Old Blood is bad, it’s just that it’s not as good as the others. The story doesn’t make sense (yes, I get that it’s not suppose to, but it should at least be able to be somewhat understandable). The gun play is traditional and basically TNO but set before then. It’s a quick, confusing ride with less memorable characters, which is why I liked it less. And how in gods name do Nazi Zombies shoot guns? That made no sense at all, but it’s kinda fun...
- DirectorFredrik LjungdahlJens MatthiesTom KeeganStarsBrian BloomAlicja BachledaGideon EmeryIn 1961, BJ Blazkowicz and his ragtag team of allies arrive in Nazi-controlled America on a mission to recruit the boldest resistance leaders left and restart the American Revolution. The New Colossus basically takes The New Order’s formula and improves it with better graphics, gameplay, and characters. And can we mention how amazingly gory this game is? I mean, half the time I went around with my handy-dandy axe and decimated all Nazi’s in my path. But, just like the first, this game does has some flaws. The big one from me is the boss battle. Comparing it to the last, it’s seemed like Bethesda just wanted to get to killing Engel instead of making a unique fight. But, the gameplay really does make up for it. I loved the copious amounts of over-the-top action. Especially with cutting off your dads hand, seeing Anya topless with blood raining all over here, and having Hitler living up on Venus. That is in fact, how to make a game memorable
- DirectorMike BoothStarsEarl AlexanderJim FrenchJen TaylorA multi player co-op in post-apocalyptic Pennsylvania, where four immune survivors, Francis, Bill, Zoey, and Louis fight through hordes of zombies and Special Infected as they make their way to extraction zones.I have fond memories of playing both Left 4 Dead’s. Valve made the best zombie co-op experience of all time, but I started to realize that it doesn’t age as well as many think. Yes, the game is still fun, but it gets boring once you get into the 2-3 chapter. Especially in Single Player. I found myself wandering way ahead just to be the game. Also, after playing its sequel, Left 4 Dead without melee weapons drags from time to time. Still, one of the best co-op video games out there
- DirectorErik JohnsonStarsChad L. ColemanHugh DillonEric LadinFour new survivors must make their way across the American South while surviving a zombie apocalypse.Just like the first, L4D2 is a fun and enthusiastic experience, especially with friends. The reason that I prefer this over the 2008 classic is because of the dynamic characters, melee weapons, unique maps, and diverse weapons. But, Single Player is definitely the low point here. These games are not meant for just you. But I still had my fun with it
- DirectorJason JonesStarsPeter DinklageBill NighyLauren CohanYears in the future, a group of space-born humans fight to remove the Earth of alien invaders. One of the classics that has grown to be one of the best looter shooters out there. Obviously it has its downs. Like how RNG getting Exotic items are. Or how shitty the original campaign is. Since TTK and ROI are their own campaigns, I’ll only judge the “OG” one, as well as the smaller first 2 DLC...
Original: It’s...ok. If you’re into just grinding a so/so story for like +4 hours. A little trivia, Peter Dinklage was the first voice of the Ghost back at launch, then they changed it to Nolan North. Very interesting indeed. 6/10
Dark Below (1st DLC): Literally they just added a few new missions and a raid. Besides weapons this had nothing. But surprisingly, it’s fun to look back on and see some of the dark shit they added. Plus, the raid is easy and fun. 5/10
House of Wolves (2nd DLC): This is a great improvement from the last one. More missions, new social hub, more weapons (of course), and Prison of Elders. Very cool stuff, but nothing as memorable as 3 and 4. 7/10
VERDICT: A solid 7/10. Base game is a classic to me, but in this case, it’s still not without noticeable flaws... - DirectorLuke SmithStarsNolan NorthNathan FillionLance ReddickAfter the Guardians of Earth murdered his son, Oryx, The Taken King, comes to the system to exact revenge against those who killed his son, and to destroy all Light in the process.I was looking forward to finally playing The Taken King. My few good Destiny friends said it was really worth getting the game back since it gained so much hate in Year 1. After playing it, it was for sure a huge step up. Tons of content was added and it really changes the game. A new sub-class, completely new story, and a shit-ton of new gear is what Bungie needed to put in. And the final fight with Oryx was epic in all the right ways. My biggest complaint is that it shouldn’t cost $30. I understand it’s basically like 2 DLC’s in one, but I can buy a new game with that. Thankfully as of 2019, Bungie left Activision, so I hope there won’t be anymore of this...

I heard nothing big about this unlike TTK. So I was excited to check this out. Upon finishing it, I gotta say I somehow liked it better than TTK. That DLC is awesome too, but the characters here with the new area and music mix so well. The story, while being short, was addicting and interesting. Unlike TTK, it was more grounded into reality, which in a way made it feel like it could of actually happened. It’s an unpopular opinion, but I like it a slight more than TTK

"The Ghosts" are sent in to get rid of them. They’re tons of things I love about Wildlands. The realism, the gameplay, the physics, and the customization. But then there’s the things I hate. The bugs, the acting, the story, and...did I mention the bugs? The game itself is pretty enjoyable. With friends, you can have some fun moments pop up now and then given your comedic range. Even by yourself it offers up a different and enjoyable experience. But fuck the bugs make no sense. They’re minor, but they show especially during missions. Also, the ending itself was pretty anticlimactic. I expect the main baddie to go down better than just being escorted out or shot in the back (depending on what ending you get). But, I liked it, even if it wasn’t as polished as other Ubisoft titles

In the case of Doom, I can somehow never get bored of it. The gameplay is so smooth and fast-paced and I love it. It’s brutal, bloody, and spectacular. The story is it’s weakest element, but I think it’s pretty good. The cliffhanger always leaves me with goosebumps, and the boss battles are satisfying to glory kill. Speaking of glory kill, what a feature. Doing finishers on enemies is a genius idea that I’m glad ID Softworks brought into their reboot. I hope Eternal keeps the same old Doom (2016) style, cause it’s amazing

The Collation decided to scrap a normal linear story and put in an option to do side missions in an open world type of way. The characters were very likable and it sucked when the story did certain things to them. Also, the ending boss fight was way better than Gears 4 by a landslide. Also, they could of did a lot more with Queen Myrrah since she’s legit on the front cover. But instead they led her to cameos only in the first couple acts. I mean she did die from Marcus so it does make sense

So, in honor of the newest “Joker” coming out Oct 4, I decided to revisit a game series I used to play the hell out of. First was Asylum, and upon playing it I started to point out some things that didn’t hold up. Mainly the graphics. They look fine but a better remaster wouldn’t hurt. Also, this game is way more cheesy and cartoony than City and Knight. I still liked it but it felt like it was a bit more childish. Then came the villains. My god, how isn’t this rated M for disturbing images alone? But I can’t forget the voice acting. Mark Hamil: Amazing. Kevin Conroy: Awesome. Plus many others I can’t name all here. Asylum is definitely a great start to the series an
- DirectorSefton HillStarsKevin ConroyMark HamillDavid KayeWhen part of Gotham is turned into a private reserve for criminals known as Arkham City, all hell is sure to break loose, and the Dark Knight is the only one who can stop it.So, take the normal Arkham fighting style we know, put it in a somewhat opening world setting, and add more villains plus the old ones while maintaining a great narrative. All those things applied for Arkham City, a sequel that I can definitely say is better than the first. There’s just more things to do in City, plus the combat feels improved and the story is more gripping that Asylum. And finally seeing Clayface with that reveal was awesome. Plus, don’t forget about the ending, where SPOILER the Clown Prince himself finally met his demise...
- StarsTroy BakerKimberly BrooksCorey BurtonWhile Batman battles crime in Arkham City, you can also play as Catwoman in 4 chapters including villains like Poison Ivy and Two-Face and finding out a way to steal items from TYGER Command leaded by Hugo Strange. While cool on paper, the Catwoman DLC for Arkham City just kinda weighed the story down whenever you had to play as her. Rocksteady decided to tie in her “stories” after crucial points of the main story. So whenever something dramatic happened, you go right to the boring Catwoman and her “not as fun” adventures. It’s a cool idea, but it didn’t have to impact the Batman story as a whole
- DirectorSefton HillStarsCarlos AlazraquiLaura BaileyTroy BakerWith his back against the wall, Batman turns to his closest allies to help him save Gotham City from the clutches of Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight's army. A familiar face also returns to give The Dark Knight a message he cannot ignore.Just an unbelievably polished open world video game that never, ever had me bored. Yes, some mini-missions do get repetitive, but it’s all about if you’re into the grind or not. I personally love entertaining games that have a fair grinding factor, and if you want an 100% ending then prepare yourself. But back to the story. The M rating really helps make the atmosphere feel genuinely frightening. I feel like some parts involving Barbra could of been more disturbing since they did get the M, but it no big deal. The Joker and Batman are amazing as always, and the Arkham Knight is surprisingly sorta fleshed out (thanks to Troy Baker and his voice acting). Definitely the most polished Batman game thus far
- DirectorJason WestStarsBilly MurrayCraig FairbrassDavid SobolovThe Call of Duty series returns this time into a modern day setting. The player takes control of a character nicknamed "Soap," for the majority of the campaign and will need to progress through many modern warfare scenarios.Just truly a classic in FPS history. It’s sad COD can’t get back up to how this game was now. In prep for their newest installment, Modern Warfare 2019, I decided to go back and play all the games Infinity Ward has made leading up to this (AW does not count since Sledgehammer made that). But c’mon man, this game was amazing. Personally I like the others a tad bit more, but that doesn’t make this less inferior. The nuke, All Gillied Up, Game Over, Zakahev’s arm, it’s all there. Plus, it’s remastered, meaning all those things I just mentioned are back in HD. And let’s be honest, it makes you not want to go back to the old days

Meanwhile, a Task Force is sent to find the perpetrators and bring the bloodshed to an end.How do one up the already amazing COD4: MW? Well, you make a sequel that’s better. MW2 & 3 are outstanding COD’s in my opinion. With MW2, you got the “For the Record” campaign, bringing back your favorite characters, as well as some more classics like Ghost and Roach. You got the missions like Loose End’s, Endgame, Cliffhanger, Whiskey Hotel, The Gulag, goddamn No Russian. All classics. You got Spec Ops, a worthy special mode right next to Zombies. You got the multiplayer. It’s everything you want out of a Call of Duty title, and more. And get this, it was nominated for GOTY, right next to Arkham Asylum, another amazing game

SchofieldStarsBilly MurrayBruce GreenwoodIdris ElbaThe Russian Federation continues its invasion of the U.S., as well as Europe, including England, France and Germany.Truly my favorite Infinity Ward COD entry. You thought MW2’s campaign was good? MW3 feels like an upgrade to the already amazing MW2. You have the missions like Turbulence, Mind the Gap, Return to Sender, Iron Lady, Blood Brothers, Down the Rabbit Hole. And then there’s Dust to Dust, THE best final mission of COD History. Survival mode even competes with Zombies, with Spec Ops being improved from MW2. This is an amazing FPS, that I don’t understand why people come to hate. Maybe because it’s like a $60 DLC for MW2, but for only having basically 9 months to make this, give them some slack. It’s still perfect through and through...

The fight takes you from London to the Middle East and beyond, as this joint task force battles to stop a global war.A much needed return to roots, Modern Warfare (2019) is a rock solid game with the best campaign since BO2. It’s got your shock n’ awe, it’s got your normal cod action, and it’s got the man himself, Captain Price. Missions like Piccadilly, Clean House, The Embassy, Hometown, The Wolf’s Den, Captive, and Old Comrades were my standouts. I really wish it was longer, but it suffices as a quick and easy story to play before diving into the multiplayer, which is something else...
- DirectorJake RowellSylvain DoreauStarsBrandon RouthBrian BloomJeffrey PierceTen years after a terrible attack that wipes out part of the population, two brothers must rebel against a federation controlled by a psychotic soldier who once was part of the rebellion called "The Ghosts".Being a very odd COD entry in the series(since this story is never, and probably will never be continued), Ghosts brings a “Michael Bay” type of flair to the campaign. I gotta say, it’s a lot of fun to play through like a cheesy action movie. There’s your traditional COD moments like a main character dying, a “decent” villain, and balls to the wall moments to go crazy over. My biggest grip with Ghosts is the ending. Jesus man talk about unneeded. The ending before the cliffhanger was beauty. You and your brother chilling on the beach after “killing” Rorke. 1 minute later, and he’s back to yank you away to god only knows where. But, the mood here overpowers the bad. Sitting here in the main menu listening to the music just feels like America has no hope (in the story of course). Missions like Legends Never Die, Federation Day, The Hunted, Atlas Falls, Into the Deep, Sin City, Loki, and The Ghost Killer really do stand out. Not to mention, Eminem’s “Survival” end credits song is always a bop
- DirectorSteve FukudaStarsMatthew MercerGlenn SteinbaumFred TatascioreAt the edge of the Frontier, a Titan and a common footsoldier are unexpectedly thrown together in a desperate attempt to prevent a catastrophic event.Titanfall 2’s campaign was definitely a short little delight before the oh-so amazing multiplayer. Getting this out of the way, I wish it was longer. With only 9 missions, it’s hard not to complain on how criminally short it is. But, within the shortness is an amazing, layered experience only Respawn could make. Along with the already mentioned multiplayer, which is just too good, the campaign shows us a relationship between a pilot and titan, and how dynamic it can actually get. My personal favorite touch is the “boss” battles you encounter throughout missions. Kane, Ash, Sloane, and Viper make for a fairly tough, but enjoyable fight. Viper especially was my favorite. The way he flew around and pulled BT’s arm out was awesome. Speaking of BT, he steals the show here, showing once again how writers can make an A.I. a fan favorite character...

Not to throw shade at Ubisoft and the AC series, but SOM really kept me entertained throughout its 20ish hours of story. The combat here is basically identical to the Arkham games, but with a few differences here and there. With the added gore from “Uruks” (the game’s enemies), it makes pulling off Takedowns energizing and impressive. Grinding to get the main upgrade for my sword, making me have unlimited takedowns for 20 seconds, proved to be really worth while, especially against the captains and warchiefs. The nemesis aspect of SOM is what it’s selling point really is. Dying can put an Uruk on the board, and make them a new target to kill. Some have different strengths and weaknesses, and it really makes the game even more fun. Now, the worst thing about this game is the story. Most of the time, the bad dialogue wanted me to just skip the cutscene. The ending is ok, but could’ve been more climatic. And even if the nemesis chart is awesome, having 3 swarm you mid battle isn’t. Hopefully in SOW, the sequel, they’ve improved on this
- DirectorStig AsmussenStarsCameron MonaghanDaniel RoebuckDebra WilsonSet shortly after Revenge of the Sith, the player takes on the role of a Jedi padawan being hunted by the Empire after Order 66.Respawn Entertainment does it again with Jedi Fallen Order, a surprisingly amazing game that is taken place between episodes 3 & 4. The main character, Cal, is pleasantly charming and badass at the same time, but with the writing, you can tell he’s new to all this “killing” stuff. The combat here is Dark Souls, but with lightsabers, and it’s very fluent and fun. Parrying is important, and keeps the player on their toes when encountering harder enemies. Not to mention, the story here is super strong and never had me bored (except for a few moments here in the game). Now, the reasons i didn’t make this a 10 are: Glitches, Frame Errors, Sorta anti-climatic ending, and the beginning of the game. But, don’t let those misguide you. Fallen Order has gotta be the best SW game we’ve gotten in a long time

BanksSteve BlumTwo years after the death of Shao Khan, the heroes of Earthrealm must face their fallen comrades and prevent Shinnok from corrupting the Jinsei, the source of Earthrealm's life-force.Honestly, i’m a pretty good fan of Mortal Kombat. Surprisingly, it’s been in my life without me even paying attention. And now with the 10th entry, i gotta say that the gameplay just gets better over time, and the fatalities get even more bloodier. But, in these reviews i focus on story, and geez, this story is really, really just “eh”. The acting isn’t the worst, but most of the written lines feel like it came straight from a 90’s movie. The difficulty on Story Mode is really annoying. You go from fighting your average joe of combos, to a fuck load of unblockable moves being thrown at you. Hopefully in 11 they fixed that issue cause it made my experience a living hell

Roam a city devastated by a mysterious virus epidemic. Scavenge for supplies, craft weapons, and face hordes of the infected.Dying Light isn’t what i expected after “trying” Dead Island. See, this time, it’s a huge open world with zombies jammed all around the map. The story is a bit cliche, but viable to keep a causal player like me entertained through its 10ish hours of story. Surprisingly, the melee style isn’t as repetitive as i would of thought. I mean, sadly your weapons do break over time, but it makes sense so it’s not overpowered as you parkour around the big map. But, the amount of zombies gets very overwhelming, and i feel as if the difficulty can be really bipolar, especially around actual human enemies. Now, i’m pretty excited for Dying Light 2 after dipping my toes into this expansive universe

After about 2 hours in, i just wanted to beat the game. The story never got boring, but i started to want to get through the game ASAP. I will say though, the game feels a lot more polished than Tomb Raider 2013

I say that since this just feels like a return to the crazy and ridiculous format that Blood Dragon nailed right home. The Twins aren’t anything too special, but with their messed up characters and great Mo-Cap acting, they make some pretty fun villains to fight against. The new RPG elements aren’t as annoying as i thought too, making this games biggest difference from FC5 easy to stomach. Definitely worth the cheaper cost this game is asking for.
