Eduardo Gabor Dusek, or the stage names of Eduardo Dussek, Eduardo Dusek and Duardo Dusek (Rio de Janeiro, January 1, 1958), is a Brazilian actor, singer, songwriter and pianist.
He began his artistic career as a theater pianist at the age of fifteen, when he was studying at the National School of Music. Later, he started to compose his own songs and formed a band, which ended up being sponsored by Gilberto Gil.
As of 1978, he already had some compositions recorded by important MPB names, such as As Frenéticas (the samba "Vesúvio"), Ney Matogrosso (the fox "Seu Tipo") and Maria Alcina (the frevo "Folia no Matagal", two years later re-recorded by Ney Matogrosso) - all in partnership with Luiz Carlos Góes.
His compositions sought to combine satire and good humor. In 1980, he participated in Rede Globo's MPB Shell festival, singing the mocking song "Nostradamus" only in his underwear, which did not qualify but became known by the public. At that time, he recorded his first LP, Olhar Brasileiro. But success came in 1982, when he flirted with the still incipient pop rock, on the LP Cantando no Banheiro, with "Barrados no Baile" (with Luiz Carlos Góes), "Cabelos Negros" (With Luiz Antonio de Cássio) and "Rock da Dog" (Leo Jaime).
Two years later, he became famous with the LP Brega Chique, whose title track, better known as "Doméstica", was a social satire, right in the mood of the bullshit theater of the time. With the great success, it was one of the attractions of the first Rock in Rio, in 1985. In 1986, he released Dusek Na Sua, with "Aventura" and "Eu Velejava em Você", one of the most touching songs of MPB, later re-recorded by Zizi Poss. In 1989, he returned to the scene with the musical Loja de Horrores, in which he played the role of dentist. In the 1990s, removed from the role of singer, he played the character Captain-Mor Gonçalo in the soap opera Xica da Silva, from the extinct Rede Manchete. He worked as a show director and, at the end of the decade, he returned to present some works as a comedian and singer, one of them about Carmen Miranda. Revealed in the magazine Who suffers from Parkinson's disease.
In 2000, for reasons of numerology and also with the aim of provoking the correct pronunciation of his name, he began to act under the artistic name of Eduardo Dussek, adding another "s" to his surname.- Music Department
