- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneApril StewartRandy sees an opportunity for Tegridy Farms in China; Stan starts a band to work out his frustration over having to move away from South Park and scores a hit, but China interferes.30) The South Park we all love still ripping it after 23 seasons. When it's their turn to defend freedom of speech it's when they're at their very best. And that special comeback of the best boyband ever is the happiest South Park made me in lots of years.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneNico AgnoneSociety is almost destroyed when a popular television show uses the word "shit" on the air.29) I'm quite a sucker for meta humor, and South Park really plays the game on this one. When it's about cursing on TV, no one will beat them. And it develops in such a classic South Park way that I'll understand if you find outrageous that I ranked this one on the 29th spot.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneMona MarshallFather Maxi travels to the Vatican to confront the growing problem of priests molesting children. Meanwhile, Cartman discovers that it is possible to crap out of your mouth.28) Season 6 of South Park is truly the South Park I love. The same day that adults decide that atheism is the best is the same day that we discover that you can crap out of your mouth. But make no mistake: this is not a pro-religion episode by any chance. 'member when South Park mocked the ridiculousness of both extremes of the problem to show us the gray truth in the end? I member.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneApril StewartJimmy begins using steroids to improve his chances in the special Olympics. Meanwhile, Cartman disguises himself as a handicapped boy so he can enter as well and win the cash prize.27) This one has many of my favorite Cartman moments, particularly when he's trying to convince his mother to let him participate in the special olympics. Plus Jimmy deserves an Oscar for his performance in this episode.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneAdrien BeardThe boys dedicate their lives to defeating a high level player killing other players in World of Warcraft.26) Let's get this classic out of the way. I've never played World of Warcraft, but honestly, you just need to know South Park to find this episode hilarious.
- DirectorAdrien BeardStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneIsaac HayesWhen everyone in South Park decides to forgo presents and celebrate a non-materialistic holiday season, the boys try to bring the spirit of commercialism back to Christmas by making an animated film.25) Another meta moment when we learn the struggles they had when they were starting. Plus the nuggets and "The Circle of Poo" are hysterical.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneJessica MakinsonDistraught over the media's nonstop coverage of her, Britney Spears attempts to commit suicide, but survives despite blowing the top half of her head off. Disgusted by this treatment of her, the boys attempt to help, only to learn the secret behind the media's cruel scrutiny of celebrities.24) Taking no restraints and going ridiculously far to prove a point are some of the attributes that made me love this show. And having to explain to people the idea that celebrities are just humans like us is so unbelievably absurd that it deserved an unbelievably absurd and over-the-top episode like this one.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneAdrien BeardStan learns about the Mormon religion after a new family moves to South Park from Utah. Caught up in the family-friendly doctrine of the church, Randy declares the Marshes to be Mormon as well.23)
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneMona MarshallProfessor Chaos struggles to find an evil scheme that hasn't already been done on "The Simpsons." Meanwhile, Cartman accidentally creates life in his aquarium.22) Though original, the Butters plot feels dated today, as The Simpsons reached their 30th season and they already did kind of everything. But the B-plot with the sea people is so perfect, that even if this was half an episode it still ranks among my all time favorites.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneNico AgnoneA gang of kids from the O.C. challenge Stan to a dance-off. But before the big event, Butters must confront a painful event from his past.21)
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneMona MarshallAn unspeakable tragedy occurs when one of the boys leaves the toilet seat up after he uses the bathroom.20) "Oh, that's what that hole is for?"
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneAdrien BeardCartman leads a vendetta against kids with red hair and freckles, until a prank makes him think he is one of them.19) Being born and raised in a football (soccer for you 'mericans) loving country, whenever some player makes the performance of his life and wins a match pretty much by himself, we say the team was "this guy+10". Well, this episode is Cartman+10. A laugh fest that shows us how the mind of a manipulative sociopath works. No doubt Hitler is his hero.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneMona MarshallSouth Park declares cats illegal after kids start getting high on cat urine. Cartman starts hiding neighborhood cats in his attic to protect them, and Kenny becomes an addict and starts having Heavy Metal (1981) hallucinations.18)
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneAdrien BeardWhen the boys decide to ignore Cartman, he assumes that he is dead, and enlists Butters to help him make up for his past sins.17) From the best duo of the show (and one of the best comic duos in the history of TV). Having quite some hilarious episodes to pick, this one is, without a doubt, my favorite Cartman/Butters moment. Unlike "AWESOM-O", Cartman is in control of the situation, but unlike "Casa Bonita" he quite doesn't get what's going on, and obviously uses Butters for help. And Butters? He's just Butters. But with the worse luck.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneMona MarshallRandy deliberately gets testicular cancer so that he can receive a medicinal marijuana prescription, while Cartman becomes a black market KFC dealer when all of the restaurants are shut down for being unhealthy.16) A Randy plot about weed and a Scarface parody with Cartman as Tony Montana? Is this real? Does it really gets better than this? Believe it or not: yes. But still a priceless episode, and a strong option for those who never watched the show.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneApril StewartThe citizens of South Park have had enough of Randy and Tegridy Farms and they just want to lock him up.15) I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm a sucker for meta humor. And this is the most meta episode of all times. Combine savage social commentary with meta references, elements of classic and modern South Park respectively, to get this gem. The Tegridy Farms plotline had lots of meta comments, but Matt and Trey knock it out of the park on this one. Using Randy as their spokesman to directly address the fans and speak their minds, it's kinda touching that, after all these years, they still feel passionate about the show and they are still the #1 fans of their own creation. Man I really wish this show would never end.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneAdrien BeardButters fakes his own death and disguises himself as a girl so he can infiltrate a sleepover and steal a fortune telling device from the girls. Meanwhile, Butters' father turns to the occult to bring back his son.14) Fun fact: Matt & Trey dislike this episode because they feel it has too many things going on and could have made more than one episode with it. I can't say I agree. "Marjorine" is in every little detail to the point where I can say I don't find a single scene unfunny. I would say this one is an excellent 10 out of 10 in my book, but honestly every episode on this list is.
- DirectorEric StoughStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneJohn 'Nancy' HansenButters' mother snaps and tries to kill her son after the revelation that her husband frequents gay bath houses.13)
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneJohn 'Nancy' HansenSeveral religious leaders recongize Stan as the second coming of L. Ron Hubbard, and a whole soap opera unfolds with the help from a famous R&B sensation.12) Despite how carcinogenic scientology is to mankind, if it wasn't for it we wouldn't had had this classic episode. The most classic South Park ever. Even the credits are hilarious.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneMilan AgnoneEric's mom turns to Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan as a last resort to turn him to a good little boy, but he may have also turned him into a repressed killer.11)
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneMona MarshallThere's a new girl in school and she's black, so Cartman instantly assumes Token wants her, but when Token doesn't seem interested, Eric sets up an elaborate scheme to put the two together.10) To this point you may have discovered I'm a Cartman fan. The best character on the show by far. And I'll always find how far he is willing to go to achieve his delusional plans absolutely hilarious.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneAdrien BeardCartman, Butters, and Token soar to the top of the Christian rock charts, but when the other boys kick Cartman out, he seeks a way to get them back.9) Yes, it's a superb Cartman episode and yes, I definitely agree with their message about artists. But the best of this one? No matter how dark the day can get, "The Body of Christ" will forever be a boost on my mood.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneAdrien BeardKyle, Mr. Garrison and Mr. Slave travel to New York City to bring an end to the latest "metrosexual" fad, and discover that it's actually part of a crab-people conspiracy to take over the planet.8) This one holds a special place in my heart because it is the first South Park episode I loved. The one that sold the series for me. The gay jokes make this one pure gold, but the Crab People plot twist raise its status to legendary.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneJohn 'Nancy' HansenCartman makes a Jennifer Lopez hand doll and turns her into a music star, which draws the furious anger of the real Jennifer Lopez as well as the sexual advances of Ben Affleck.7) The most ridiculous South Park episode ever. And that's saying something considering its South Park we're talking about.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneMona MarshallCartman makes fun of Wendy after she delivers a report on breast cancer. She challenges him to a fight, but he keeps finding ways to get out of it. But he also won't stop making fun of her.6)
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneMona MarshallJimmy comes up with the perfect joke, but Cartman wants to take half the credit for it. However, Kanye West doesn't get the joke, and vows revenge on the person who came up with it.5) A master class of writing a whole script around one joke and making it funnier every time.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneAdrien BeardStan becomes a social outcast after his father Randy says "the N-Word" on national television, but Michael Richards and Mark Furhman come to Randy's rescue.4) Cartman and Randy is such a winning formula. This episode is all over the place and it doesn't waste a single second. Hilarious and clever, this one finds South Park in its best shape and its one episode that they should really be remembered for when they are not longer among us.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneMona MarshallRandy Marsh sets the world record for the biggest bowel movement, until Bono comes along and challenges it.3) The best Randy episode bar none. His most unbelievably ridiculous adventure to date, which is the same as stating that this is the episode that best defines his character.
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneJennifer HowellStan tries to disprove psychic John Edward after a reading messes with Kyle's mind. Meanwhile, Cartman and Chef travel to Scotland to exorcise Kenny from Cartman's body.2) (shared position with "A Ladder to Heaven"). (I guess the only reason why this one gets to be on the list its because it features Chef's parents).
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneLance HoWhen Stan loses his job as the paperboy, he decides to become the coach of the local Pee Wee Hockey team, just to make some money. Unfortunately, he gets way more than he bargained for.1) The ultimate South Park experience. A perfect parody taken to such extremes and going to places darker than making a bully eat its own parents. Not the first episode I'd recommend to anybody who never watched the show, but once you get into the it, this is the final test. If you laugh your ass off to this one, well... welcome to South Park!
