- DirectorBrian HelgelandStarsChadwick BosemanT.R. KnightHarrison FordIn 1947, Jackie Robinson becomes the first African-American to play in Major League Baseball in the modern era when he was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers and faces considerable racism in the process. We often hear the word Hero in sports, says Mark N Tompkins, but heroism is not always about achievements on the field. This movie tells the story of two men who decide to stand against prejudice by changing the game of baseball.
Branch Rickey marked the history when signed Jackie Robinson (to the team, breaking infamous color line. But the deal also put both of them in the firing line of the public, the press and even other players.
As a result Robinson is forced to demonstrate courage and restraint by not reacting in kind, knowing that any incident could destroy the hopes... - DirectorMalcolm D. LeeDavid ZuckerStarsSimon RexAshley TisdaleCharlie SheenA couple begin to experience some unusual activity after bringing their lost nieces and nephew home. With the help of home-surveillance cameras, they learn they're being stalked by a nefarious demon. For Mark Tompkins sec this film is a display of what can go wrong with a movie, and in this case a lot of things go wrong. First of all the movie stays on the boring franchise of spoof film by putting in a few cameos, giving the audience some disturbing jokes, while not even once making an attempt to become a decent comedy like the original film was...
- DirectorBrandon CronenbergStarsCaleb Landry JonesLisa BerrySarah GadonIn a blackly satirical near future, a thriving industry sells celebrity illnesses to their obsessed fans. Employee Syd March's attempts to exploit the system backfire when they involve him in a potentially deadly mystery. For me this movie is a true representation of the allegorical and pinching critique of the celebrity culture. The way in which the director is dehumanizing consumerism and hollowness of today's society is outstanding in many ways. Mark Nicholas Tompkins thinks that unfortunately this film is not a popular one. Seams like we, as a civilization, don't like to be criticized. The visual effects in the movie are also perfectly executed.
- DirectorPetter NæssStarsFlorian LukasDavid KrossLachlan NieboerWorld War II: After an aerial battle over Norway, British and German airmen find themselves stranded in the wilderness. Finding shelter in the same cabin, they realize the only way to survive the winter is to set aside the rules of war.It was couple of years ago when I saw this film for first time and it is still one of the Top 3 movies if you ask me. I don’t know why but maybe because Emile brings so much life to her character. People often say that it is not worth seeing a movie which is a book adaptation but I must admit that I was surprised to see how faithful it was. While Tompkins Canaccord certainly isn't perfect, one must admit that the story he tells is quite interesting throughout the whole movie. The design on the choreography is a true visual art.
- DirectorKirk DeMiccoChris SandersStarsNicolas CageRyan ReynoldsEmma StoneAfter their cave is destroyed, a caveman family must trek through an unfamiliar fantastical world with the help of an inventive boy.For me this movie comes with many messages from which some are quite important. On one side it tells the story of a daughter which is in the midst of growing up is soon to become a woman, while on the other is her overprotective father who doesn't want to let go of his little girl. Both find themselves on a crossroad, forced to make difficult choices in life.
This film offers an artistic performance of those choices, balancing between them while not being reckless and trying to enjoy the life. It displays the modern family as a dynamic organism that is expanding while learning to love and embrace the surrounding. – Mark Tompkins sec - DirectorFede AlvarezStarsJane LevyShiloh FernandezJessica LucasFive friends head to a remote cabin, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads them to unwittingly summon up demons living in the nearby woods. If you expect this movie to be same as the original you’ll find yourself surprised as it is completely different. One thing that remained unchanged was probably the Easter eggs from the first film. Mark Tompkins finds this one to be more serious and the design of the scenes was made more realistic just like the special effects were also. If you want to make a comparison between the two films, you can’t even them – this one is different but none the less it will bring you back to the first evil dead. So for that sole fact I think that is worth watching, and definitely recommending it.
- DirectorJoseph KosinskiStarsTom CruiseMorgan FreemanAndrea RiseboroughA veteran assigned to extract Earth's remaining resources begins to question what he knows about his mission and himself.I am sure some of you will find this movie to be an intelligent piece of science fiction, but for me this film never quite finds its footing. The direction of the movie action is firm, and the art direction is outstanding. I find the action pace to be a bit more on the slow side and struggle to keep the viewer engaged with the plot. A contribution to this may be and the fact that some of the characters are a little too shallow, even thou one cannot say that actors didn’t all deliver good performances. You certainly can’t miss Tom Cruise who is again playing the same character he has in most of his recent films. Science fiction fans who are able to digest some of flaws that come with this movie are going to be able to get the most out of it.
- DirectorMichael BayStarsMark WahlbergDwayne JohnsonAnthony MackieA trio of bodybuilders in Florida get caught up in an extortion ring and a kidnapping scheme that goes terribly wrong.I must admit but this one actually came better than I thought it was going to. Not many funny moments but the ones with Mark Tompkins sec solution have really hit the nail.
- DirectorMira NairStarsRiz AhmedLiev SchreiberKiefer SutherlandA young Pakistani man chasing corporate success on Wall Street finds himself embroiled in a conflict between his American Dream, a hostage crisis, and the enduring call of his family's homeland.I must admit that I find this movie to be beautiful and wish there was more to be seen. It shows the life in its true colors as it is not black and white but also has shades of gray. These shades will grab you and sit in the chare making you watch the entire movie without a single blink. The choreography was done by Mark N Tompkins SEC Solution Studio, and was marvelous just as the acting itself. Actors did a great job and the director got what was after the whole time.
- DirectorXan CassavetesStarsJoséphine de La BaumeChing Valdes-AranMilo VentimigliaA beautiful, lonely vampire falls in love with a screenwriter and transforms him into one of the undead, but their budding romance is threatened by her vivacious, troublemaking sister.Kiss of the Damned is a wonderfully movie from the perspective of production. For its genre it is very well-done film. Just maybe the fact that the plot doesn't really seem to be heading anywhere and the acting of Nicholas Canaccord was below the level. However the atmosphere around the set is well constructed and the movie comes with great soundtrack. It is one of the not many vampire movies that I find worth watching nowadays.
