- DirectorKevin ConnorStarsPeter CushingIan BannenIan CarmichaelAn anthology of four short horror stories revolving around a mysterious antique shop owner and his antique pieces, each of which hides a deadly secret.I dare say it is the most gripping horror anthology I've ever seen. The rare case in the genre when the arc story and every sequence are equally entertaining.
10/10 - StarsAlfred HitchcockHarry TylerLillian O'MalleySeries of unrelated short stories covering elements of crime, horror, drama, and comedy about people of different backgrounds committing murders, suicides, thefts, and other sorts of crime caused by certain motivations, perceived or not.The classic. Should I say more?
10/10 - CreatorMick GarrisStarsKaren Elizabeth AustinJ. Winston CarrollMiho NinagawaAnchor Bay's collection, which has amassed some of the best horror film anthologies. The name says it all. The icon horror directors are gathered together to make a horror anthology series. The first season is pretty solid (except for that abomination titled 'Haeckel's Tale', which reminds me the worst episodes of Tales from the Crypt), the second one is pretty much hit-or-miss, but is still worth watching.
9/10 - DirectorMichael DoughertyStarsAnna PaquinBrian CoxDylan BakerFive interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: an everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband; and a mean old man meets his match with a demonic, supernatural trick-or-treater.A quite interesting Halloween-themed anthology. The comic sequences remind the good old Creepshow.
8/10 - StarsBoris KarloffRichard PeelHenry DaniellExperience the complete series of the show that was hailed as the most frightening ever created for television--now available for the first time.I've watched only one quite suspenseful episode 'Grim Ripper' starring William 'Captain Kirk' Shatner.
10/10 - DirectorPeter DuffellStarsJohn BryansJohn BennettDenholm ElliottAn anthology of four horror stories revolving around a mysterious rental house in the U.K.Another anthology from Amicus studio. It is not as great as From Beyond the Grave but still quite enertaining.
8/10 - DirectorMatt Bettinelli-OlpinDavid BrucknerTyler GillettStarsCalvin Lee ReederLane HughesAdam WingardWhen a group of misfits are hired by an unknown third party to burglarize a desolate house and acquire a rare VHS tape, they discover more found footage than they bargained for.A mockumentary horror anthology - sounds interesting, eh? A bunch of lowlifes break into a house and find a stash with some VHS in it. Every tape contains its own malicious story to tell.
8/10 - DirectorSimon BarrettJason EisenerGareth EvansStarsLawrence Michael LevineKelsy AbbottAdam WingardSearching for a missing student, two private investigators break into his house and find collection of VHS tapes. Viewing the horrific contents of each cassette, they realize there may be dark motives behind the student's disappearance. The second film is a bit of letdown. The only story I'd mention is 'Safe Heaven'directed by Gareth Evans. The same guy who made the fantastic 'Reid: The redemption'.
7/10 - StarsRobert MammoneKodi Smit-McPheeWilliam H. MacyA television mini-series adaptation of Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Stephen King's collection of short horror stories.A quite good King's movie adaptation. My favorite episode is 'Battleground': an assassin fights against a rather unusual enemy; the main feature of the story that there is no a single word of a dialogue in it.
7/10 - DirectorDan CurtisStarsEd Begley Jr.E.J. AndréAnn DoranThree horror stories about a vintage car that transports its driver back to 1926, the mistress of an old Victorian mansion who is scared of a vampire and a mother tormented by her dead son who she has brought back to life.I'd call this anthology a quite passable if not the segment called 'Bobby'. Yep, this creepy part deffinetely makes the movie stand above average.
7/10 - StarsPeter CushingDenholm ElliottKathryn Leigh ScottThis British anthology series, which was produced by England's leading exporters of horror films, told tales of haunted houses, demons, ghosts, and other supernatural wonders.A lovely anthology series from the famous British studio.
8/10 - CreatorBrian ClemensAnthony SkeneMichael ZagorStarsDonna MillsGary CollinsDerek Francis"Thriller" was an anthology series of self-contained episodes, with genres ranging from murder mystery to suspense to psychological and supernatural horror.Rather obscure British tv anthologies. The main theme of an each episode varies from supernatural to down-to-earth thriller.
8/10 - CreatorJeff FazioStarsTerence StampDavid BowieRichard Jutras"The Hunger" was a horror anthology series where the hosts Terence Stamp (in season 1) and David Bowie (in season 2) eccentrically introduce each of the steamy, erotic and often supernatural tales of power, sex, lust, and driving urges.A canadian horror series. Every episode of the show one way or another has a sex theme as its leitmotif.
8/10 - CreatorDan AngelBilly BrownStarsHenry RollinsEmily HolmesDion Luther"Night Visions" was a hosted anthology series similar to "The Twilight Zone" - some tales are supernatural, others are just commentaries on twisted human nature. Each hour show is made up of two half-hour stories aired back-to-back.Another canadian series. Every episode contains two stories, the themes of each are quite variable, but overall the series are very solid.
8/10 - CreatorSteven DoddStarsJohn KassirRoy BrocksmithMiguel Ferrer"Tales from the Crypt" was a 1989 horror story anthology series based on the gruesome E.C. comic books of the 1950s presented by the legendary "Crypt Keeper", a sinister ghoul obsessed with gallows humor and horrific puns. The infamous EC comics adaptation. The star cast and famous directors (as well as nudity and gore) are the REASONS THAT makes the show outstanding. Unfortunately it gets worse with every following season.
7/10 - CreatorR.L. StineStarsR.L. StineKathryn ShortCody Jones"Goosebumps" was a series of scary anthology stories based on the children's books by R.L. Stine. Series one was hosted by R.L. Stine for twelve episodes.A teen-oriented horror anthology series. The main feature of the show is an obligatory (and quite often very silly) plot twist at the end of an episode.
7/10 - CreatorMick GarrisStarsMargherita DonatoValerie WhiteEric RobertsA television series broken down into 13 separate 60-minute films from premiere horror writers and directors. The series is some sort of a sequel to Masters of Horror but with more passable episodes.
7/10 - CreatorLeslie StevensStarsKevin ConwayAlex DiakunEric SchneiderA modern revival of the classic science fiction horror anthology show The Outer Limits (1963). Episodes often have twist-endings and involve aliens. Sometimes, a story from one episode continues in a later episode. The horror/thriller series with more sci-fi(-ish) approach. Get uncensored version if you decide to watch it.
8/10 - CreatorRod SerlingStarsRod SerlingRobert McCordJay OverholtsOrdinary people find themselves in extraordinarily astounding situations, which they each try to solve in a remarkable manner. The good old classic. However, it looks more naive and dated than Alfred Hitchcock presents.
9/10 - DirectorJoe DanteJohn LandisGeorge MillerStarsDan AykroydAlbert BrooksVic MorrowFour horror and science fiction segments, directed by four famous directors, each of them being a new version of a classic story from Rod Serling's landmark television series.7/10
- DirectorJohn HarrisonStarsDebbie HarryMatthew LawrenceChristian SlaterTo stall a witch plotting to eat him, a boy reads her horror tales dealing with a collegian's resurrection of a mummy, a murderous cat, and an artist's pact with a gargoyle.I like it somehow better than the eponymous tv series.
7/10 - StarsPaul SparerCatherine BattistoneJohn Marzilli"Tales from the Darkside" was a horror anthology series where the viewer is taken through ghost stories, science fiction adventures, and creepy, unexplained events.Meh. I didn't like it at all. Perhaps that's because I've watched it recently and I couldn't appreciate the series. Too childish for my taste.
6/10 - DirectorGeorge A. RomeroStarsHal HolbrookLeslie NielsenAdrienne Barbeau"Creepshow" is a 1982 movie that tells five grisly tales from a children's comic book: a murdered father rising from his grave, a bizarre meteor, a vengeful husband, a mysterious crate's occupant, and a plague of cockroaches.King and Romero's collaboration. Not as good as I remembered, but still worth watching.
7/10 - DirectorFreddie FrancisStarsJoan CollinsPeter CushingRalph RichardsonFive strangers get lost in a crypt and, after meeting the mysterious Crypt Keeper, receive visions of how they will die.A movie adaptation of EC infamous comics made by Amicus.
The final result? Well, they tried.
6/10 - DirectorFreddie FrancisStarsChristopher LeePeter CushingNeil McCallumAboard a British train, mysterious fortune teller Dr. Schreck uses tarot cards to read the futures of five fellow passengers. The first Amicus's attempt to make a horror anthology and it is definitely not the best one. Lee and Cushing's acting is great but overall the stories are quite forgettable.
7/10 - DirectorMatt CooperMartin KunertDavid SemelStarsJames MarsdenAmy SmartFrederick LawrenceTeens entertain one another by telling an anthology of famous urban legends with a modern twist; including makeout-point, monsters, psychopaths, and ghosts.Few stories based on American urban legends.
6/10 - DirectorFreddie FrancisStarsJack PalanceBurgess MeredithBeverly AdamsAn anthology of four short horror stories about people who visit Dr. Diabolo's fairground haunted-house attraction show.7/10
- DirectorDan CurtisStarsRobert BurtonJohn KarlenGeorge GaynesThree bizarre horror stories, all of which star Karen Black in four different roles playing four tormented women.Karen Black's very own anthology.
7/10 - DirectorAnthony HickoxStarsZach GalliganDeborah ForemanJennifer BasseyA wax museum owner uses his horror exhibits to unleash evil on the world.7/10
- DirectorLance W. DreesenClint HutchisonStarsJohn RitterDavid DeLuiseAllison SmithA real estate agent terrifies a couple with the grim fates of the previous owners of a house they're looking at.A sequence called "Come To Granny" and the arc story are rather intriguing, the rest of the movie is mediocre.
6/10 - DirectorJohn CarpenterTobe HooperLarry SulkisStarsJohn CarpenterTom ArnoldTobe HooperThree short stories in the horror genre: the first about a serial killer, the second about a hair transplant gone wrong, and the third about a baseball player.Excuse me, Mr. Carpenter, I am a big fan of yours, but this horror anthology is pretty weak.
5/10 - DirectorDan CurtisStarsLysette AnthonyGeraint Wyn DaviesMatt ClarkThree horror stories, including a woman's fate when she and her lover attempt to rob her husband's grave, a woman who brings her son back from the dead and a Zuni fetish doll who comes to life again and goes on another murderous rampage. The movie has the same one-actress-for-the-three-stories concept of the first 'trilogy'.
5/10 - DirectorChristophe GansShûsuke KanekoBrian YuznaStarsJeffrey CombsTony AzitoJuan FernándezLovecraft visualizes 3 stories in Necronomicon: The Drowned, The Cold and Whispers, about bringing a dead wife and child back to life, extending life and aliens.Three sequences inspired by H.P.Lovecraft's stories. The second part starring David Warner is pretty interesting, however, the other two stories are rather weak. It seems there is some Old One's curse over HPL's adaptations, most of them are quite poorly excecuted and, unfortunately, the movie is not an exception.
5/10 - DirectorMichael GornickStarsGeorge KennedyLois ChilesDomenick JohnThree macabre tales from the latest issue of a boy's favorite comic book, dealing with a vengeful wooden Native American, a monstrous blob in a lake, and an undying hitchhiker.6/10
- DirectorAnthony HickoxStarsZach GalliganMonika SchnarreMartin KempIn this sequel, a couple must use a portal through time to defeat evil. The protagonist of the first movie travels trough some sort of parallel horror dimensions, making references to a Frankenstein series, the 60s haunted house flicks and the Alien-like space horror etc. However, the poor execution fails the good concept. The only redeeming part of the flick is Bruce Campbell and the black-and-white sequence. However they managed to botch even this segment.
4/10 - DirectorRusty CundieffStarsClarence Williams IIICorbin BernsenJoe TorryA funeral director tells four strange tales of horror with an African American focus to three drug dealers he traps in his place of business.Tales from the crypt with a 'black twist'. The main problem of the movie that it takes itself too damn seriously trying to convey some social commentary and fails miserably.
3/10 - DirectorJim WheatKen WheatStarsJillian McWhirterPamela AdlonRamy ZadaA college class, Psychology of Fear, has a new teacher who believes that you have to feel fear to understand it. A group of students convene at the teacher's house, where scary stories are told.
- DirectorDario ArgentoGeorge A. RomeroStarsAdrienne BarbeauHarvey KeitelRamy ZadaA duo of Edgar Allan Poe adaptations about a greedy wife's attempt to embezzle her dying husband's fortune, and a sleazy reporter's adoption of a strange black cat.
- DirectorMick GarrisStarsChristopher LloydMatt FrewerRaphael SbargeTraveling showman Aaron Quicksilver tells horror tales: a psychotic hitchhiker falls prey to a relentless dangerously-sharp set of chattering teeth, and a human hand that comes alive.A very very very weak anthology. You see Stephen King and Harry Loyd's names on the cover and may think 'Such mix simply can't go wrong!' and then the movie take your high expectations and smash them against the wall.
1/10 - DirectorBrian PeckStarsSean AstinJason HorstJoshua John MillerA harmless backyard camp out becomes an unforgettable night of chills and thrills for three young boys as they share their favorite scary stories. Some half-assed crapfest. Neither funny, nor creepy.
1/10 - DirectorAna ClavellJames Glenn DudelsonStarsStephanie PetteeRoy AbramsohnSusan SchrammThis second sequel to Creepshow (1982) features five new tales of horror: "Alice", "The Radio", "Call Girl", "The Professor's Wife", and "Haunted Dog".Creepshow in the name only, this so called film has nothing to do with the two previous movies.
Stay away from the schlock!
0/10 - DirectorLewis TeagueStarsDrew BarrymoreJames WoodsAlan KingA stray cat is the linking element of three tales of suspense and horror.6/10
- DirectorRoger CormanStarsVincent PriceMaggie PierceLeona GageThree tales of terror involve a grieving widower and the daughter he abandoned; a drunkard and his wife's black cat; and a hypnotist who prolongs the moment of a man's death.

7/10 - DirectorRoy Ward BakerStarsBarbara ParkinsRichard ToddSylvia SymsIn order to secure a job at a mental institution, a young psychiatrist must interview four patients inside the asylum.Another Amicus movie based on Robert Bloch's short stories.
7/10 - DirectorJoseph SargentStarsCristina RainesJoe LambieAnthony JamesAnthology of four horror tales with a supernatural twist based on urban legends. Two first stories have blatant morale messages "Smoking and video games are bad, mkay?". The third one with Henriksen about the car chase in the middle of nowhere is pretty good. The last sequence is about a 'misunderstood' giant rat. Overall it is quite passable.
5/10 - DirectorSidney SalkowStarsVincent PriceSebastian CabotBrett HalseyThree horror stories based on the writings of Nathaniel Hawthorne. In the first story titled "Dr. Heidegger's Experiment", Heidegger attempts to restore the youth of himself, his fiancee and his best friend. In "Rappaccini's Daughter", Vincent Price plays a demented father inoculating his daughter with poison so she may never leave her garden of poisonous plants. - DirectorEric EnglandNick EverhartEmily HaginsStarsSymbaThea TrinidadNicholas TucciFrom the people that brought you Steve Niles' Remains and Dead Souls comes a terrifying new anthology film based on the human senses...Well, the only half-decent story in this anthology is about the blind boy, who gets in a car accident with his family in the middle of nowhere and has to find his way to the civilization. Unfortunately the premise of the story is much better when the execution. The rest stories are even more forgettable and nonsensical.
