US Box Office / IMDB Movies of the Year 1960-2012
The top 5 movies for each year from 1960 to 2012 based on adding the number of weeks at number 1 in the US box office chart (according to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_box_office_number-one_films) added to the IMDB rating as at March 2013.
In the result of a tie, the higher IMDB rating decides whose higher - if this is still a tie, the movie that grossed the most whilst at number 1 ranks higher.
The "year" of the film is the year in which the movie first reached number one.
Total weeks at number one in the movie's original run only count, but if weeks at number one occur over two calendar years (e.g Avatar in 2009 and 2010) then it's the total weeks at number one that is used.
Only films that reached number 1 in the US box office charts qualify.
