- DirectorPedro Soffer SerranoStarsGero CamiloAisha JamboGustavo MachadoThe film is based on lyrics from the very famous Brazilian samba composer Adoniran Barbosa, following the aesthetics of his time. Notable facts and characters of his songs takes us through the story, a portrait of São Paulo city in the 50's, a place full of music, love stories and gentrification (poor people getting evicted from their places in order to build great buildings), subjects often explored in Adoniran's work, always with a good touch of humor. This way he became the 'poor people poet'. Besides putting together in a surprising way stories that are known all over Brazil, the film is a great tribute to one of the most important musicians of the country. The cast is also very special, with names like Paulo Miklos (actor and guitar player of Titãs, legendary brazilian rock band) and Gero Camilo ( who's curriculum includes City of God, Carandiru, Man on Fire), and the soundtrack brings to the audience one of the strongest and most interpretative voices in Brazilian music: Ney Matogrosso."Dá licença de contar". - DirectorHelke MisselwitzStarsErika BanhardtHermann BusseMargarete BusseBefore GDR collapsed, Misselwitz interviewed diverse East German women who candidly reveal personal and professional stories, frustrations, hopes, aspirations to record a changing society against a backdrop of architecture and landscapes. The idea of this documentary (interviewing a wide range of different women in GDR) is quite nice and it does show generational transformation of society in Eastern Germany, but most of interviews are excessively long, boring, uninteresting and unimportant, leading nowhere. The second half of the film is much better, but not enough to save the movie. It gets better when it comes to youngest women (interviews are not good either, but are at least useful to show how old habits were being abandoned, with teenagers not wanting to marry or the increase of divorces). Though, the best moment, by far, is the one showing the celebration of the oldest generation (a very funny testimonial by the matriarch - no spoilers here! - and a hsitorically important testimonial by the patriarch on economical crisis and bad conditions in the late 20's).

Nina Kopko resumes the Brechtian tradition of modern Brazilian cinema, in her penchant for frontality and by bringing political discourse to the proscenium, while placing itself in a rare constellation, alongside films such as "Trabalhadoras metalúrgicas" e "Mariana, Paraná e Greve", which localize the female experience within the factory world.
