The Saddest Episodes of "How I Met Your Mother"

Marshall, after discovering that he is fertil, receives the news abou his father's death.

At his father's funeral, Marshall hears the message that he sent him the day he died, only to find out it was a pocket dail, but then hears his true last words to him, "I love you".

Robin discovers she can not have children, but Ted conforts her even not knowing what was upsetting her.

After Barney cheats on his girlfriend, Nora, with Robin, they both decide to tell their boyfriend/girlfriend what happened, and so Barney and Nora break up. Later, Robin shows up with Kevin, her boyfriend, and Barney leaves. Later, Ted finds him in her room, taking out some things he had prepared for their night together.

After hooking up with Robin, Ted goes home to tell his best friends the good news, only to find Marshall sitting alone, in the rain, with Lily's engagement ring in his hand.

Stella leaves Ted for her ex-husband Tony in the day they were supposed to get married.

Barney finnaly meets his real father, but when he finds out that he was a simple suburbs dad, gets mad at him because he couldn't be that for him.

To convince Ted to tell her he doesn't want Barney and Robin to get married, because he still has feelings for her, Lily confesses to sometimes wanting to leave for San Francisco to persue her dreams again, and leaving Marshall and Marvin alone.

After leaving Marshall and spending three months in San Francisco, Lily returns, only to find her friends in the bar, happy and laughing, and leaving.
