- DirectorOrson WellesStarsOrson WellesJeanne MoreauMargaret RutherfordWhen King Henry IV ascends to the throne, his heir, the Prince of Wales, is befriended by Sir John Falstaff, an old, overweight, fun-loving habitual liar. Through Falstaff's eyes we see the reign of King Henry IV and the rise of Henry V.Brilliant adaptation of several Shakespeare plays. It contains of the most realistic battle scenes ever put on celluloid. Welles is charming as the roguish Falstaff. Shot in crisp black and white in the wintry Spanish countryside.
- DirectorOrson WellesStarsOrson WellesJoseph CottenDorothy ComingoreFollowing the death of publishing tycoon Charles Foster Kane, reporters scramble to uncover the meaning of his final utterance: 'Rosebud.'The greatest film ever made. Bar none. Brilliant tour de force by Welles.
- DirectorOrson WellesFred FleckRobert WiseStarsTim HoltJoseph CottenDolores CostelloThe spoiled young heir to the decaying Amberson fortune comes between his widowed mother and the man she has always loved.Well made Welles film. Unfortunately, the studio changed the ending on Welles which kind of spoils things but overall, a very good effort.
- DirectorOrson WellesStarsOrson WellesEdward G. RobinsonLoretta YoungAn investigator from the War Crimes Commission travels to Connecticut to find an infamous Nazi.Taut, atmospheric film noir with a terrific performance by Edward G. Robinson. Welles is also very good. The ending is perfect.
- DirectorOrson WellesStarsRita HayworthOrson WellesEverett SloaneFascinated by gorgeous Mrs. Bannister, seaman Michael O'Hara joins a bizarre yachting cruise, and ends up mired in a complex murder plot. This film is good but it should have been that much better. Maybe Welles should have stayed behind the camera and cast someone else in the male lead.
- DirectorOrson WellesStarsOrson WellesMicheál MacLiammóirRobert CooteThe Moorish General Othello is manipulated into thinking that his new wife Desdemona has been carrying on an affair with his Lieutenant Michael Cassio when in reality, it is all part of the scheme of a bitter Ensign named Iago.Welles had such a hard time making this film. He could never get enough financing and had to shoot it over several years, a bit at a time. The photography is beautiful and the Moroccan and Italian locations are spot on. Micheál MacLiammóir as Iago is great. Only Suzanne Cloutier as Desdemona is a tad weak.
- DirectorOrson WellesStarsCharlton HestonOrson WellesJanet LeighA stark, perverse story of murder, kidnapping and police corruption in a Mexican border town.If you can get past Charlton Heston as a Mexican, this film will wow you. Film noir at its best and it includes one of Welles' best performance.
- DirectorOrson WellesStarsAnthony PerkinsArnoldo FoàJess HahnAn unassuming office worker is arrested and stands trial, but he is never made aware of his charges.Brilliant adaptation of the Kafka novel with surreal sets and a feeling of doom you just can't shake throughout. Once again Welles had a great deal of trouble getting the proper financing and had to improvise (Including dubbing many of the voices by himself).
- DirectorOrson WellesGary GraverOja KodarStarsOrson WellesOja KodarFrançois ReichenbachA documentary about fraud and fakery.I really did not care for this film. Orson Welles is goofing around throughput trying to connect things that are not connectable. It seems to be Welles making a home movie with his friends on a big budget.
