AMERCIAN CIVIL WAR (1861-1865)
US CIVIL WAR MOVIES - BROTHERS FIGHTING BROTHERS
The American Civil War, widely known in the United States as simply the Civil War, was fought from 1861 to 1865 to determine the survival of the Union or independence for the Confederacy. Among the 34 states as of January 1861, seven Southern slave states individually declared their secession from the United States and formed the Confederate States of America in the South, known as the "Confederacy".
But in 1865 finally after 4 years of bitter conflict, the Northern Union armies defeated the Confederate South with General Robert E Lee's surrender and capture of Confederate President Davis. With this slavery ended in America. Tragically after inspiring the US crowds during the war the US President is assassinated by a confederate southern actor after the end of the war. An English poem Oh! Captain My Captain is dedicated to Abraham Lincoln. The war costed almost 1,030,000 casualties (3% of the population), including about 620,000 soldier deaths.

The Captain and Sarah are pulled apart by the war's undertow into choices they can not fully control or understand. Each character in this drama must decide whether loyalty will be paid in blood. This story has a relevance to current partisan conflicts. Armies are not filled with murdering psychopaths. Good people can be driven to do bad things. The story chronicles the pathology of war, how escalating events can trigger unasked-for tragedy. Based on a true story about a southern child who shot and killed a union soldier during the Civil War.
