Orange Is the New Black - Season 3 Review
Season rating - 8-great
Highlight episode - Don't Make Me Come Back There
The worst season for sure but there was still some good character-work here. Early on in episode 4 the season had its most powerful moment between Taystee and Crazy Eyes as they finally acknowledged Vee's death. That was some good stuff there. Elsewhere, Norma's whole cult-religious thing was pretty stupid save for Poussey's part in it, who was great as usual. Felt sorry for Soso the whole season so was glad she finally made friends with the black group. Caputo was great once again and his backstory really fleshed him out, same to be said for Flaca and Big Boo. Piper was just infuriating though with her whole panties business and anything with Alex or Stella was pretty tedious, and her screwing over Stella in the finale only further solidified her as unlikable. Oh, and Sophia's arc was pretty heartbreaking in the end there and the Diaz' baby story ended great, too. All in all, whilst nowhere near the greatness of the first two seasons, mostly due to being a bunch of subplots with no main arc tying them altogether, scenes like the lake one in the finale can't help but endear you.
