Singer/songwriter Patricia "Bonnie" Pointer was born on July 11, 1950 in Oakland, California. She's the second youngest member of the hugely popular and successful soul/R&B group The Pointer Sisters. Bonnie began singing in the choir of her father Reverend Elton Pointer's church. In 1969 Bonnie formed a duo with her younger sister June called Pointers, A Pair. The group became a trio after Anita Pointer joined in 1969 and eventually evolved into a quartet when Ruth Pointer joined in 1972. Bonnie recorded five albums with The Pointer Sisters and co-wrote such songs as "How Long" and the 1974 Grammy Award-winning breakthrough hit "Fairytale." She left the group to pursue a solo career in 1977. In 1976 Bonnie sang vocals on Bill Wyman's 1976 album "Stone Alone." Moreover, Bonnie co-wrote the song "Bring Your Sweet Stuff Home to Me" for Stevie Wonder's album "Having a Party." In 1978 Bonnie married Motown Records producer Jeffrey Bowen and released her self-titled debut solo album; the disco song "Heaven Must Have Sent You" peaked at #11 on the Billboard pop charts (this song was featured on the soundtrack to the 1998 film "54"). In 1979 Bonnie released her second album. Her third album "If The Price is Right" came out in 1984. Bonnie sings the songs "Heaven" and "The Beast in Me" on the soundtrack to the movie "Heavenly Bodies." She has twice reunited with The Pointer Sisters: she attended the ceremony for the unveiling of the star for group on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1994 and joined her siblings on stage for a concert performance of "Jump (For My Love)" in Las Vegas, Nevada on New Years Eve in 1996. Angélica Aragón was born on 11th July, in the "Central Médica" clinic, in Mexico City. Raised in a family of intellectuals and educated at some of the most celebrated schools in Mexico, like "The Modern American College", "The Sierra Nevada School", "The French - Mexican High School", Angélica chose to seek an academic degree at "The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts" (LAMDA). There, for almost seven years, Angélica studied acting, pantomime, interpretative art, as well as canto and dance. In order to complete her histrionic education, she followed courses offered by "The London School of Contemporary Dance", "The National Dance Academy of India" and by the Indian "Kerala Kelandam Dance School". Back to Mexico in the early 80s, she started working in the telenovelas industry, for a local television company "Televisa". After giving life to a wide range of characters, either week or strong, subdued or independent, sociable or secluded, kind or evil, she decided to change her production company and signed for a young, but far from intimidating production house "Argos Televisión", which also brought her international acclaim for the extraordinary interpretation in "Mirada de Mujer" ("A Woman's Glance"). The sad, but true story of María Inés gained the sympathy of many other "women's glances" from all over the world. Apart from that, she had starred in no less than 24 movies, both Mexican and North American, among which the best known are "The Evil That Men Do" or "A Walk in the Clouds". As a theater actress, Angélica, who performed plays like "Maquillaje" or "Aquila Real" to name just a few, proved once more her inegalable talent. In 1999, she first directed a play, focusing on social themes "Tengamos el Sexo en Paz". Now, at the beginning of 2000, Angélica is back on the world's stage, with another telenovela inspired by Mexico's social, political and educational realities, called "Todo Por Amor", produced by "Argos Televisión" and broadcast by "TvAzteca".- Composer

Portly, pudding-faced, wavy dark-haired actor/announcer Harry Von Zell, whose well-modulated voice was a standard radio fixture during the 1930s and '40s, also extended his talents toward film and TV where he appeared in numerous comedy outings, often as a straight man foil. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on July 11, 1906, he attended UCLA and first started on the air waves in 1927 with KMIC as both announcer and singer, eventually moving into national radio, announcing for Bing Crosby among others. Known for his quick and clever ad-libbing, he nevertheless got quite a bit of ribbing and won an honorary award in the Immortal National Hall of Bloopers Fame for referring to President Herbert Hoover once as "Hoobert Heever."
Von Zell decorated a number of films, owning a few prime buttoned-down support parts in both comedy--including The Strange Affair of Uncle Harry (1945), For Heaven's Sake (1950) and Son of Paleface (1952)--and dramas, such as The Guilt of Janet Ames (1947) and The Saxon Charm (1948). He was also front-and-center in a number of comedy shorts, usually playing himself. The name Harry Von Zell became a household word, while riding on the talented coattails of the husband/wife team of George Burns and Gracie Allen in their classic TV sitcom The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show (1950). He played the hesitant, somewhat bewildered friend of the family, also serving as the program's announcer. In addition, he was with CBS in New York for six years and a TV network announcer for the likes of Eddie Cantor, Fred Allen, Phil Baker, Dinah Shore and Joan Davis over his long career. Following his retirement in the 1970s after some TV work including Bachelor Father (1957) and Perry Mason (1957) (he also once wrote and appeared on a Wagon Train (1957) episode), Von Zell was seen frequently at nostalgic functions. He died of cancer in 1981 at the age of 75 in Los Angeles. He was a posthumous inductee of the National Broadcasters Hall of Fame.- Soundtrack

Attractive, blond, dimple-cheeked artist's daughter Irene Hervey was first tutored in acting by the noted English stage thespian Emma Dunn. She appeared in junior theatrical productions during her time at Venice High School in Los Angeles. Irene completed her training at the M-G-M School of Acting before being signed as a contract player in 1933. Often on loan to other studios, she was assigned bit parts until meatier co-starring roles came along in The Girl Said No (1937) and Say It in French (1938). While at M-G-M, Irene was briefly engaged to Robert Taylor, an affair which was stymied by Louis B. Mayer who saw it as detrimental to Taylor's career.
After briefly free-lancing, Irene signed with Universal (joining her then-husband, actor/singer Allan Jones) in 1938 and remained with that studio until 1943. Her best-known film was the classic James Stewart-Marlene Dietrich western Destry Rides Again (1939) in 1939. In the 1940s, Irene became a leading lady of B-movies. In the crime melodramas San Francisco Docks (1940) and Frisco Lil (1942) she was, respectively, a barmaid and a law student, trying to clear her nearest and dearest of murders they had not committed. In the adventure yarn Bombay Clipper (1941) she was William Gargan's obligatory girlfriend - more decorative than active; and in the potboiler, Night Monster (1942), a Dr. Phibes-like tale of revenge and murder, she played second-fiddle to those great characters, Lionel Atwill and Bela Lugosi.
A charming, smart and likeable actress who some reviewers compared to Myrna Loy, Irene put her family above her career and that was perhaps the reason she never made the breakthrough to A-grade pictures. In 1943, she was injured in a car accident and sidelined for five years. When she returned to the screen, it was as a character actress in the fantasy Mr. Peabody and the Mermaid (1948), as the titular character's sophisticated wife. From the 1950s, Irene concentrated on television work with a recurring role as Aunt Meg in the series Honey West (1965) (with Anne Francis). There were also numerous guest-starring spots in top-rating shows like Peter Gunn (1958), Perry Mason (1957), Ironside (1967) and The Twilight Zone (1959). She was nominated for an Emmy Award for a performance on My Three Sons (1960) in 1969. Her final motion picture role was as radio station owner Madge Brenner in Play Misty for Me (1971).
After her retirement from acting, Irene worked as a travel agent in Sherman Oaks, California. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard.- Actor

Jafar Panahi (Born 11 July 1960) is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, and film editor, commonly identified with the Iranian New Wave film movement. After several years of making short films and working as an assistant director for fellow Iranian film-maker Abbas Kiarostami, Panahi achieved international recognition with his feature film debut, The White Balloon (1995). The film won the Caméra d'Or at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival, the first major award won by an Iranian film at Cannes. Panahi was quickly recognized as one of the most influential film-makers in Iran. Although his films were often banned in his own country, he continued to receive international acclaim from film theorists and critics and won numerous awards, including the Golden Leopard at the Locarno International Film Festival for The Mirror (1997), the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival for The Circle (2000), and the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival for Offside (2006). His films are known for their humanistic perspective on life in Iran, often focusing on the hardships of children, the impoverished, and women. Hamid Dabashi has written, "Panahi does not do as he is told - in fact he has made a successful career in not doing as he is told." After several years of conflict with the Iranian government over the content of his films (including several short-term arrests), Panahi was arrested in March 2010 along with his wife, daughter, and 15 friends and later charged with propaganda against the Iranian government. Despite support from filmmakers, film organizations, and human rights organizations from around the world, in December 2010 Panahi was sentenced to a six-year jail sentence and a 20-year ban on directing any movies, writing screenplays, giving any form of interview with Iranian or foreign media, or from leaving the country except for medical treatment or making the Hajj pilgrimage. Kimberly Denise Jones, was born on July 11, 1974, to parents Linwood Jones and Ruby Mae. She is of Native American and African American descent. Standing just 4 feet 11 inches tall Kimberly Jones seems much less than being just your average girl in the hood, but when "Lil' Kim" was introduced to the world she became known for her provocative over-the-top outfits, glamorous blonde hair-dos, pornographic attitude, sexy man-crazed looks, and a groundbreaking triumph that eventually secured her place as one of the few female rappers in a male-dominated industry. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Kimberly was born into a broken home, by age 9 her parents had filed for divorce, leaving her and older brother Christopher under the custody of their father. A rebellious child living under the strict rules of her dad, Kimberly and her father had constant fights, and eventually she ran away from home. As a teenager she lived with friends, drug-dealing boyfriends, and, occasionally, on the streets. After meeting her mentor and life saver Christopher Wallace, (Notorious B.I.G/Biggie Smalls), she began to clean up her life and it was Christopher who helped her develop a career in music. By then Kimberly had taken in the slogan "Lil' Kim" after her height and curbing her name to just Kim. With the help of Christopher she became the only female member of the short lived rap group Junior M.A.F.I.A. Their 1995 debut album Conspiracy debuted at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and garnered the hit singles "Player's Anthem" (#13) and "Get Money" (#17). Following the release, Lil' Kim appeared on records by Mona Lisa, the Isley Brothers, Total, and Skin Deep. And it was obvious that it was time for her to come out with her own solo album, and that's just what she did in 1996, with the release of "Hard Core". Lil' Kim's marketing campaign for the album was quite challenging - she was dressed in a skimpy bikini and furs in advertisements, as well as the album covers - but instead of resulting in criticism, the album became a hit, debuting at # 11 on the pop charts. The first single from the album, "No Time" a duet with Sean "Puffy" Combs, became a #1 rap single and #20 on the pop charts. A top ten single followed with "Not Tonight" (#6). But while Lil Kim's career was blossoming, her life was shattered along with the music world when her father like figure Notorious B.I.G. was murdered on March 9, 1997. Following that incident, Lil' Kim took a hiatus from recording her own music, but she still kept busy with a string of other projects. She was one of the featured performers of Puff Daddy's highly successful 1998 "Bad Boy Tour", and built her own business with the launch of Queen Bee Records, with Lil' Kim herself as CEO. Her long-awaited "Notorious K.I.M." was released in the summer of 2000 under the Queen Bee record label and debuted at #1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Charts. By then, she had lost weight but still kept the sexual techniques and provocative antics coming for fans that were hungry for more. She had also taken a shift into films debuting in the 1999 teen flick "She's All That" and playing Tina Parker in the 2002 comedy "Juwanna Man". In 2001 Lil Kim gained her first #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in a remake of Patti Labelle's hit "Lady Marmalade" that collaborated her with singers Mya, Pink, and Christina Aguilera, the success awarded them a Grammy in 2002 for Best Pop Collaboration. Her third full-length album "La Bella Mafia" was released in 2003 debuting at #5 on the pop charts and earned her two more hits with "The Jump Off" (#17) and "Magic Stick/feat.50Cent" that shot to #2. Her album The Naked Truth released in September 2005 debuted at No. 6 on Billboard's Top 200 Album's chart and sold 109,000 copies during the first week of its release.- Actor
