A fan-boy is an entity known for following, often obsessively, a certain director, actor, or film studio etc.

Said fan-boys often find their judgment blinded due to their fixation with their chosen director, actor, or film studio etc. and are usually fiercely defensive. Since the rise of the age of the internet, “geek culture” and fandom has become so significant that a fan base often collectively will have the power to affect the creative decisions made with, say, a movie.

Once a creature rarely spotted and often mocked, fan-boys now thrive in the modern age where the barrier that limits the interaction between celebrities and 'normal' people is fading.
