Buster Crabbe graduated from the University of Southern California. In 1931, while working on That's My Boy (1932) for Columbia Pictures, he was tested by MGM for Tarzan and rejected. Paramount Pictures put him in King of the Jungle (1933) as Kaspa, the Lion Man (after a book of that title but clearly a copy of the Tarzan stories). Publicity for this film emphasized his having won the 1932 Olympic 400-meter freestyle swimming championship and suggested a rivalry with Johnny Weissmuller. Producer Sol Lesser wanted Crabbe for an independent Tarzan the Fearless (1933), though he first had to get James Pierce to waive rights to the part already promised to him by his father-in-law, Edgar Rice Burroughs. The film was released as both a feature and a serial; most houses showed only the first serial episode, which critics panned as a badly organized feature. Just prior to the film's release, Crabbe married his college sweetheart and gave himself one year to either make it as an actor or start law school at USC. Paramount put him in a number of Zane Grey westerns, then Universal Pictures gave him the lead in very successful sci-fi serials (Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers) from 1936 to 1940. In 1940, he began a string of Billy the Kid westerns for low-budget (very low-budget) studio PRC. After World War II, he devoted much of his time to his swimming pool corporation and operation of a boys' camp in New York. In 1950, he made the serials Pirates of the High Seas (1950) and King of the Congo (1952). In addition, he was very active on television in the 1950s. In 1953, he hosted a local show in New York City that featured his serials. He played the title role in the adventure series Captain Gallant of the Foreign Legion (1955). During television's "Golden Age", he had several "meaty" lead roles on such weekly anthology series as "Kraft Theater" ("Million Dollar Rookie") and "Philco Television Playhouse" ("Cowboy for Chris") He later returned to western features to play Wyatt Earp in Badman's Country (1958) and gave a stellar performance. Charles Dickens' father was a clerk at the Naval Pay Office, and because of this the family had to move from place to place: Plymouth, London, Chatham. It was a large family and despite hard work, his father couldn't earn enough money. In 1823 he was arrested for debt and Charles had to start working in a factory, labeling bottles for six shillings a week. The economy eventually improved and Charles was able to go back to school. After leaving school, he started to work in a solicitor's office. He learned shorthand and started as a reporter working for the Morning Chronicle in courts of law and the House of Commons. In 1836 his first novel was published, "The Pickwick Papers". It was a success and was followed by more novels: "Oliver Twist" (1837), "Nicholas Nickleby" (1838-39) and "Barnaby Rudge" (1841). He traveled to America later that year and aroused the hostility of the American press by supporting the abolitionist (anti-slavery) movement. In 1858 he divorced his wife Catherine, who had borne him ten children. During the 1840s his social criticism became more radical and his comedy more savage: novels like "David Copperfield" (1849-50), "A Tale of Two Cities" (1959) and "Great Expectations" (1860-61) only increased his fame and respect. This owl-faced comic actor enjoyed his first featured film role in the RKO production Too Many Girls (1940), in which he reprised the role of "JoJo Jordan" that he had played in the Broadway stage version of that musical. (Into the pantheon of pop-music standards came one that Bracken had introduced in "Too Many Girls", the melancholy "I Didn't Know What Time It Was"). But the then 20-year-old Eddie Bracken was by no means new to show business in general or Hollywood in particular. He had played in vaudeville and performed in nightclubs by the time he was 9, and had just later appeared on screen in four of the Hal Roach "Our Gang" comedy two-reeler film shorts. It was on account of his appearances in musicals and comedies as a shy, giggling, clumsy, stammering, sentimental, self-effacing, would-be hero that Bracken achieved popularity, not to say star status, among movie audiences of the 1940s. The director Preston Sturges served up those attributes of Eddie Bracken particularly well in two of Sturges's more memorable comedies. As "Norval Jones" in The Miracle of Morgan's Creek (1943) (filmed in 1942; released 1944), Bracken portrays a man whose destiny others have foisted upon him. A certain "Trudy Kockenlocker" (played by Betty Hutton), having attended a party for military servicemen, later finds herself to be pregnant but has no recollection of who the father might be. So she persuades the always-befuddled Norval to take credit for the child and marry her. Somehow, Norval emerges a true hero in the end, but you'll have to see the film to discover why. As Norval Jones was physically unfit for military service, so also was "Woodrow Lafayette Pershing Truesmith", with Eddie Bracken in the role, in Preston Sturges's Hail the Conquering Hero (1944). Solely on the basis of his father's reputation as a World War I U.S. Marine hero, a group of saloon-hopping World War II-era U.S. Marines, led by a crusty senior-level sergeant (played to a tee by William Demarest), elevate the physical reject Truesmith into a modern, combat-decorated veteran, and then usher him into an election campaign for Truesmith's hometown mayoralty. The complications, including a love interest (in the person of actress Ella Raines, are by now well under way. As Eddie Bracken's age increased his popularity -- or perhaps that of the genre of film vehicles that was his forte -- decreased, and in 1953 he essentially retired from the screen, moving on to pursue theatrical ventures. But he would return to Hollywood eventually, and we have been fortunate to see him in character roles in theatrical and TV films through the 80's and 90's.- Actor

Best-known for her surreal and digressive stand-up, British comedian and actor Eddie Izzard was born on February 7, 1962, in Aden, Yemen, where her English parents -- Dorothy Ella, a nurse and midwife, and Harold John Izzard, an accountant -- worked for British Petroleum.
Izzard worked as a street performer and in smaller comedy venues throughout the mid-to-late 1980s; her big break came when she appeared in Hysteria III, a 1991 AIDS fundraiser held at the London Palladium, and did her now-famous "Raised by wolves" sketch. After that, she drew bigger and bigger audiences, and in 1993 hired the Ambassadors Theatre in London's West End for the first of many successful solo shows. With Eddie Izzard: Live at the Ambassadors (1993), she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award (outstanding achievement) and won her first British Comedy Award for top stand-up comedian. She returned to the West End the next year with her second solo show, Eddie Izzard: Unrepeatable (1994), and soon thereafter made her West End debut in a drama, as the lead in the world premiere of David Mamet's "The Cryptogram" with Lindsay Duncan; her success led to her second starring role, in "900 Oneonta".
Izzard appeared in 1995 as the title character in Christopher Marlowe's groundbreaking "Edward II". In 1996, she made her big-screen debut alongside Bob Hoskins and Robin Williams in The Secret Agent (1996); she also staged another solo show, Eddie Izzard: Definite Article (1996), for which she received her second British Comedy Award. She then took "Definite Article" to major cities outside the UK, including New York, and returned to the West End with a new show, Eddie Izzard: Glorious (1997), which included a month in New York City at PS122.
In 1998, Izzard appeared in another film, Velvet Goldmine (1998), with Ewan McGregor, and also staged her breakthrough solo U.S. show, Eddie Izzard: Dress to Kill (1998) which aired on HBO and earned Izzard two Emmy Awards. Izzard next took on the challenge of appearing as Lenny Bruce in Peter Hall's West End production of "Lenny."
Izzard started 2000 touring the world with Eddie Izzard: Circle (2002) and continued to act in films, among them The Criminal (1999); Shadow of the Vampire (2000) with John Malkovich and Willem Dafoe; and Peter Bogdanovich's The Cat's Meow (2001), in which she played Charles Chaplin. She returned to the stage, in London and later in New York (her Broadway debut), with A Day in the Death of Joe Egg (2002), a version of which was televised.
In 2003, Izzard was seen on the big screen in Alex Cox's Revengers Tragedy (2002) and on the small screen in a BBC mini-series _40 (2002)(TV)_. Her other films include The Avengers (1998), Ocean's Twelve (2004), My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006), Ocean's Thirteen (2007) and Valkyrie (2008), and she has voiced roles in a handful of movies, including The Wild (2006), The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008) and Cars 2 (2011).
Izzard also has appeared in several television series, including a starring role in The Riches (2007), which lasted for two seasons on FX (from 2007-2008), and recurring roles in Hannibal (2013) and United States of Tara (2009).- Actor

Troyal Garth Brooks is an American country music singer and songwriter. His integration of pop and rock elements into the country genre has earned him popularity, particularly in the United States with success on the country music single and album charts, multi-platinum recordings and record-breaking live performances, while also crossing over into the mainstream pop arena.- Gary James Bond was an English actor and singer, born in Liss, Hampshire. Although his family were in industrial and military occupations, from an early age he wanted to be an actor. His father's death in December 1955 freed him to make his own decisions and, following schooling at Churcher's College, Petersfield, he won a scholarship to the Central School of Speech and Drama.
He made his professional stage debut in 1962, in 'Not By The Book' at the Connaught Theatre, Worthing, and his television debut the following year in ITV Play of the Week" War and Peace (1963) . This was quickly followed by his film debut as Private Cole in Zulu (1964). During the 1960s he pursued a dual career on the stage and on television, and he made his musical debut in Brian Epstein's revue 'On The Level' in 1966. This gave him a taste for singing but not enough to accept the offer of a recording contract. He would return to the musical stage on several later occasions, notably in 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' in 1972, in which he played Joseph, and in 'Evita' in 1978, where he played Che.
He was also a popular performer for the radio and recorded several titles including 'Lady Windermere's Fan'. 'Trelawny of the Wells', 'A Patriot for Me', and 'Bhowani Junction'. In 1982 he was commissioned to sing Harold Baum's biochemistry lectures to accompany a book on the subject, 'The Biochemist's Songbook', and the following year he became the first guest reader in Josephine Hart's Gallery Poets series, on stage in London.
Gary Bond's greatest film achievement is probably the Australian classic Wake in Fright (1971), in which he played the lead role, that of an arrogant teacher stranded in the wilds of Australia. This film was restored and re-released to great acclaim in 2009. On television he is perhaps best remembered for his role as Lt Clive Russell in Frontier (1968) and for the recording made of his musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1972).
His last television appearance was in 1990 in the Bergerac episode 'All The Sad Songs', and made his last stage appearance in 1994 in 'Aspects of Love', in which he played the aging roué George Dillingham. In October 1995 he died in Ealing Hospital, much mourned by his many friends and admirers. - Actor

Greydon Clark was born on February 7, 1943, in Niles, Michigan. He attended Valparaiso University near Chicago and studied acting with coach John Morley. He supported himself as a door-to-door salesman prior to breaking into the movie business.
Clark began his cinematic career as an actor in several enjoyably lowbrow exploitation features for legendary Grade-Z director Al Adamson, giving a memorably offbeat performance as wacky drugged-out biker Acid in the splendidly sleazy Satan's Sadists (1969) (he also wrote the script under the pseudonym Dennis Wayne). Clark also appeared in Hell's Bloody Devils (1970) and the laughably lousy Dracula vs. Frankenstein (1971) for Adamson. Clark has directed an entertainingly diverse array of pleasingly lowbrow low-budget drive-in pictures and straight-to-video offerings from the early 1970s to the late 1990s; they include the trashy blaxploitation double whammies Tom (1973) and Black Shampoo (1976), the silly Satan's Cheerleaders (1977), the nifty sci-fi/horror item Without Warning (1980), the amusing slasher spoof Wacko (1982), the hilariously raunchy Joysticks (1983), the uproariously awful killer mutant cat camp hoot Uninvited (1993), and the especially atrocious Skinheads (1989).
In addition to directing, Clark often writes and produces his own movies and sometimes essays small roles in his films. He both wrote the script and pops up in a minor part in the fun supernatural revenge opus Psychic Killer (1975). His late actress wife Jacqulin Cole appears in several of his films.- Actress

In his final year of high school he would start to think about attending theatre school in the USA. It would be during his preparation for these auditions that he would meet and commence a tutorship, mentorship, and friendship with David William, the previous Artistic Director of the Stratford Festival of Canada. With Mr. William, Jonny started a rigorous training program centered on classical theatre, specifically Shakespeare. This relationship continues on to this day and Jonny credits much of the artist he has become to David's tutelage.
After the long road of prepping, auditioning, and finally getting into college, he would be given the ironic blow of getting the biggest break in his career to that point - The Doodlebops, a show that would utilize his diverse skill-set in its entirety. In the spring of 2004 he cancelled his placement in the Goodman School of Acting at DePaul University and instead began dance and music rehearsals for his first television series.
Over the course of the next 4 months, he would film the first season with the help of many talented people, including the legendary children's television producer Michael Hirsch, the Emmy award-winning choreographer David Connolly, the Gemini award-winning music producer Carl Lenox, the visionary/director Jamie Waese and his two extremely talented co-stars, Chad McNamara and Lisa Lennox.
Season 1 would lead into Season 2 the following summer, but not before a quick return home to London to star in It's A Wonderful Life at the Grand Theatre over Christmas. This project gave him the special opportunity to work closely under the direction of a Canadian treasure, Bernard Hopkins as well as perform alongside a former teacher, Kelly Handerek.
Following a long summer of filming, the Doodlebops hit the road on a national Canadian tour that winter. Season 3 would come quickly after that, starting within a month of returning from the tour in the spring of '06. Then it was off to America to bring the Doodlebops to the US. It would start in Disney World at MGM Studios where they participated in Playhouse Disney's Magical Beginnings. Performing sixteen soldout shows for more then 30 000 people.
This proved however to be a mere warm-up for the kick off of a full national US tour. Highlighted by an appearance on the Today Show in their Concert Series and three sold-out days at Madison Square Gardens, the Dbops traveled to 87 cities over the course of 8 months completing 176 shows in practically every state. While in the midst of the tour, they even found time to perform in Disney's Christmas Day Parade on ABC shown Christmas morning to millions of homes across North America.
Finally after finishing the tour in the spring of '07 it looked like perhaps Jonny would finally receive some long deserved time off but it wasn't to be. Instead he decided to take on a new challenge and adventure - Los Angeles. Over the course of the summer he moved his life to his new home of North Hollywood, with a focus on artistic growth and development. He started a rigorous training schedule studying acting with Michael Woolson, singing and piano with Joel Ewing, and dance/gymnastics with some of the top breakers/gymnasts in the world as well as the odd class at the EDGE. Flying back and forth between LA and the tour every weekend, he finished up another 200 shows or so the following fall and decided it was finally time for a much deserved vacation. He took off to Europe for 2+ months by himself returning just before New Years eagerly awaiting 2009 and what it would bring - a greencard, the Canadian Premiere of Disney's High School Musical in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the start of recording for the new Doodlebops cartoon the Doodlebops Rockin' Road Show, and a new US manager and US agent to add to his amazing team of Canadian agents.- Lee Joon is a South Korean actor, singer dancer and model.
