Sons of Anarchy - Season 7 Review

Season rating - 7.5-good Highlight episode - Suits of Woe

The problem with this show is that they'd been dragging things out ever since the season 4 finale. Yes, this season had one or two great episodes (4, 11 and 12 to be specific), however, all of them were bogged down by episode lengths coming it at way over an hour for a show that can only maintain enough plot for 40-minute episodes. Regardless, the acting from episode 11 was wonderful. The deaths of Juice, Unser and Gemma were done well but were so inevitable to the point where they no longer held any weight. As for the finale, well...it was better than Dexter's, I guess. That police car chase was a joke though, like, why were they following the speed limit? Probably so they could have a cool overhead shot. A bit too on the nose with the tie-in to JT's death and Jax's, especially with that pretentious quote at the end, but whatever. Oh, and Vic Mackey kills Jax...hah. Anyway, good to see Chibs and Tig as the leading men for SAMCRO although if I'm honest I'd always envisaged the finale for this show seeing the whole club die, that could have been emotional and cathartic - well, discounting half of the new members patched in since season 6 whose names I haven't a clue. Should have been 5 seasons, but a good show on the whole.
