Most western action film heroes begin and end their career in the saddle. Not so for cowboy idol Allan Lane (nicknamed "Rocky"), who started as a leading man in major studio dramas only to segue into "B" serials and sagebrush sagas in later life. The Indiana native was born in 1909 (some sources claim 1904). His attentions, however, veered toward the theater and he left school to join a Cincinnati stock company. He toured with "Hit the Deck" to New York City and continued there in various other theater projects. A Fox talent scout discovered Lane in 1929, and he left New York for Hollywood. Making his debut with Not Quite Decent (1929), he had trouble rising in stature, however, and left Hollywood in 1932, giving it a second try a few years later. His second attempt saw him enjoying second lead roles in good quality "B" films throughout the late 1930s, including Stowaway (1936) with little Shirley Temple, Maid's Night Out (1938) with Joan Fontaine, and Twelve Crowded Hours (1939), co-starring Lucille Ball. Searching for better roles, he signed with Republic in 1940, and after struggling a bit in his initial films he hit pay dirt after teaming with Linda Stirling in the popular serial The Tiger Woman (1944). His own serials as steadfast Mountie Dave King proved popular, and around this time he started gaining added attention as a photogenic and very personable cowboy star. With his trusty steed "Blackjack," Lane managed to churn out a bucketful of oaters every year, beginning with Silver City Kid (1944), for nearly a decade, trading blows with the bad guys and seeing justice prevail. Following this chapter of his career, he left films and toured with circuses and rodeo shows until the TV series Red Ryder (1951) came his way. He may be better remembered these days not for his dashing good looks and saddle appeal on film but to older generations as the off-camera voice for the talking horse Mister Ed (1961) in the classic 1960s sitcom of the same name. Lane retired shortly thereafter and died on October 27, 1973, after a six-week bout with cancer.- Actor

Andre Eriksen's George Santos Resume
Andre Eriksen's monologue "why?" performed at Royal Albert Hall in 1985 is said to have brought Soviet Leader Mikhail Gorbachev to tears and inspired the initiation of the peace talks that ended the cold war. In the early 90s, Andre developed a unique way to communicate with animals through sound and motion performance. He traveled with the Uzbek theatre company "Ichki Olov" for four years in the Amazon jungle where they lived off the earth and performed the play "AhkAh HA babaklah" for a large group of black spider monkeys and a giant river otter. Video recordings of these plays now serve as the backbone of interspecies communication studies around the world. The theatre company dissolved in '94, and Andre isolated himself in the Himalayas for years. Here he practiced Buddhism and wrote the masterpiece "Reflections of a wounded teardrop" The mysterious short film was never publicly released, and its contents remains unseen. Eriksen stars and directs himself in the film that features none other than the Dalai Lama himself as the evil antagonist "Hon Eps Egel" who is trying to lure Eriksen's character to buy an overpriced 1991 Toyota Corolla and steals his sleeping bag during a 24-hour trip to Copenhagen.
As an activist Andre ran with the bulls in Pamplona. The bulls took him in as one of their own and during the event Andre rammed and injured several participants in the name of his herd.
"Accipit ingenium ad cognoscendum ingenium." The quote was forged by pope John Paul the second and translates: It takes a genius to know a genius. The expression came to life when the Vatican was looking for someone to restore Michelangelo's work in the Sistine Chapel, a task deemed impossible. Eriksen was commissioned and chose to use crayons for the task. "You must understand the chemical complexity of your tools", said Eriksen while applying his advanced technique of rubbing any substance between his thumb and long finger while squinting with a distant stare. The technique proved itself to be accurate and the result of the restoration is considered perfect and expected to last forever.
Early Days As a child Andre was raised deep in the jungle by wolves with the assistance of a clumsy bear and an empathetic panther. When a mean tiger gets it in for him, they all decide it's time for Andre to find his way back to the humans. In the 80s, Andre was a drifter and made his way to the outskirts of a small town called Hope, Washington. Here he was arrested by a sadistic Police officer, subjecting him to the same kind of torture he suffered as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. Andre escapes to the woods on a motorcycle. He loses control and his violent rage triggers a huge deadly manhunt. During this incident Andre had long hair and he would wear a red band around his forehead to keep hair out of his face. If you wish to work with Andre, please write any inquiries on a large piece of paper and set it on fire. If interested, Andre will find you.- Music Artist

Lowe, rotund and professionally indefatigable, rightly gained acclaim as an accomplished comedy character actor; fondly remembered as the irascible "Captain Mainwaring" in the Home Guard comedy series Dad's Army (1968-1977), and as Coronation Street (1960)'s "Leonard Swindley". The only child of a Derbyshire railworker, Lowe gained valuable experience by organising shows for a British army field entertainment unit, in the Middle East, during World War Two, before commencing his professional acting career, at the age of 30, in 1945, upon joining the "Manchester Repertory Theatre Company".
In between endless tours for repertory and in major stage performances, Lowe utilised his character actor status - which writers identify as being aided by his bald head - in bit-parts for films including: the inspired "Ealing" black comedy Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949) and The Green Man (1956). Later, whilst gathering fame - with the reputedly observational realist soap opera Coronation Street (1960) - he cemented a professional relationship with maverick film director Lindsay Anderson; using left-wing sensibilities for some of his films: including If.... (1968) and several characters in the avant-garde O Lucky Man! (1973) (the latter earning Lowe an SFTA Award, for best supporting performance).
As his son, and biographer, Stephen Lowe, intimated, finances governed and perpetuated his career, in the final stages of his life, in the 1970s; appearing in over 100, and possibly very lucrative, television advertisements and, not surprisingly, a surfeit of comedies including the sit-com Potter (1979) (1979-1983), the ribald film No Sex Please - We're British (1973) and to rave reviews for his stage performance as "Stephano", in "The Tempest" (1974), at the "National Theatre". Although Lowe received excellent notices for straight roles and appearances in plays such as John Osborne's "Inadmissible Evidence" (1963) at the "Royal Court", Dad's Army (1968) assured Lowe enduring appeal, as his character acting skills seamlessly compliment the show's comfortable sit-com structure.- Actress

Asa was born as Virginia Maynor. She made her motion picture debut as the female lead in Man Beast (1956), a low-budget creature feature in which an expedition to the Himalayas is attacked and mostly wiped out by irate Yetis (they may have just wanted some privacy). Later, producers changed her stage moniker to Asa, because her birth name sounded too similar to that of established Hollywood star Virginia Mayo. 'Man Beast' was hardly the ideal launching platform for a budding starlet, thus Asa found herself quickly relegated to the supporting cast. By 1961, she began to concentrate on TV work and became ultimately best known as the stewardess who tries to calm an unhinged passenger (played by William Shatner) in the iconic The Twilight Zone (1959) episode 'Nightmare at 20,000 Feet'. She guested in several other early 60s shows, including Mike Hammer (1958) (as a floozy named 'Ginger Snap'), Perry Mason (1957), Hawaiian Eye (1959) and McHale's Navy (1962), before making her screen swansong in the small part of Mrs. Riley in Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972).
Asa Maynor married the actor Edd Byrnes in March 1962. At the time, Byrnes was especially popular with younger audiences for his role as the jive-talking parking lot attendant 'Kookie' in TV's 77 Sunset Strip (1958). They had a son, Logan Byrnes, who went on to graduate from USC and had a successful career in broadcast journalism. As for Asa, she filed for divorce from Edd in 1971, citing as reason 'his reliance on drugs and alcohol'.
After her retirement from acting, Asa reinvented herself as an interior designer. In the 1990's, she worked in the entertainment industry again as an executive with NBC.- Actress

Chesney Hawkes born September 22, 1971 in Windsor, Berkshire, England Is the son of Len (Chip) Hawkes, the singer of The Tremeloes (known for their hit "Silence Is Golden") and Carol Hawkes, who was a TV hostess and actress in the UK.
It was in early 1991 when Chesney, then 19, won the lead role in the film Buddy's Song (1991) (also starring Roger Daltrey of The Who), and signed to sing the sound track but suddenly found himself one of the first teenagers in pop history ever to bag the Number One spot with a debut release. "The One And Only" stayed at the top for five weeks, going on to become one of the undisputed global teen anthems of 1991 as it crashed Top 10s world-wide, including the notoriously difficult markets of Japan and America. The song was also featured over the titles of the Michael J. Fox movie Doc Hollywood (1991).
Chesney and his band (featuring his brother Jodie on drums) rounded off 1991 with a sell-out tour, playing everything from small clubs to 10,000 seaters the length and breadth of Europe. Both fans and critics alike voted Chesney's live show a spectacular success, with special honours going to the much remembered last night show at London's Hammersmith Odeon. This triumphant concert was to signify the symbolic end of that particular stage of Chesney's career. Chesney had out-grown the confines of teen idol-dom and was eagerly looking forward to the challenge of establishing himself as a song writer in his own right.
So after gaining more valuable live experience supporting Huey Lewis and Bryan Adams in Europe, Chesney removed himself from the glare of the public eye and spent time in his studio writing and rehearsing for his next album. The hard work paid off and the album "Get The Picture" was as spirited, diverse and uncompromising as anything delivered by self-styled street credible types in recent years.
For the next few years and no longer signed to his original record label, Chesney decided that, rather than respond to numerous offerings of pantomime, store openings and West End roles which, although lucrative, would have taken him away from the music, it was time for him to pay his musical dues, albeit in reverse given that he had a No. 1 record behind him. He formed a new band, "ebb", and spent 1997 living and working in New York from which base he played a series of East and West coast gigs to great critical acclaim, always continuing to write and demo new material.
Since this time Chesney has worked with numerous talented writers and producers, amongst them Mark Goldenberg who co-wrote The Eel's "Novocain For The Soul", Adam Schlesinger of Fountains Of Wayne, Jesse Vellenswealla of The Gin Blossoms, and Counting Crows producer Marvin Etzioni. Other collaborators include Howard Jones, the Police's Stuart Copland, Nik Kershaw & Bijou Phillips.
English band "Hepburn", covered "Next Life", which Chesney co-wrote with Phil Thornally. (Phil co-wrote "Torn", a hit for Natalie Imbruglia). Caprice charted in March 2001 with "Once Around The Sun" which Chesney co-wrote with Eric Pressley and he has also collaborated with Tricky on his "Mission Accomplished" EP. Another of Chesney's songs, "Almost You", was in the film Jawbreaker (1999) starring Rose McGowen and Marilyn Mansun and "Missing You Already" was in the film The Night We Never Met (1993), starring Matthew Broderick.
During the latter half of 2000, and the beginning of 2001, Chesney has been recording a batch of new songs in London and in Los Angeles with producer Charlton Pettus. A number of tracks have been mixed by Neil Dorfsman who has worked with Sting, Dire Straits and Paul McCartney. A single, "Stay Away Baby Jane", from these sessions was scheduled for release in summer 2001. The video has been filmed in LA with director Rory Rooney.
During April, Chesney has been performing at student venues (Nottingham, Leeds, Lincoln, Hull, Middlesbrough). Such has been the overwhelming response that the, initially mini, tour has now been extended to take in dates throughout May and early June. The teen audience that discovered him in 1991 has now grown up and are, now in their early twenties, thrilled to see Chesney back and performing at the height of his ability.
Chesney has combined touring with appearing on 'Top Ten Teen Idols' (Channel 4), Banzai (Channel 4) and 'Question of Pop' (BBC1). Interviews in The Sunday Express and The Telegraph have centred on his writing and the tour, and his current media profile (the above plus Heat, Loaded, ILR interviews and sharing a Sunday Express {not the above} centre spread with The Beatles and The Spice Girls) is being watched by the media itself with Ally Ross recently (July) congratulating Chesney on his ubiquity in his News of The World column.
At present, Chesney is working on his new album. He now lives in West London with wife Kristina and his son, Casey George Hawkes who was born on August 29, 2001.- Actor

Born and raised in Malibu, California, Emilie Autumn began learning the violin at the age of four and left regular school five years later with the goal of becoming a world-class violinist. Progressing to writing her own music, she studied under various teachers and went to Indiana University, which she left over issues regarding the relationship between classical music and the appearance of the performer. Erich von Stroheim was born Erich Oswald Stroheim in 1885, in Vienna, Austria, to Johanna (Bondy), from Prague, and Benno Stroheim, a hatter from Gleiwitz, Germany (now Gliwice, Poland). His family was Jewish.
After spending some time working in his father's hat factory, he emigrated to America around 1909. Working in various jobs he arrived in Hollywood in 1914 and got work in D.W. Griffiths' company as a bit player. America's entry into WW1 enabled him to play sadistic monocled German officers but these roles dried up when the war ended. He turned to writing and directing but his passion for unnecessary detail such as Austrian guards wearing correct and expensively acquired regulation underwear which was never seen in 'Foolish Wives' caused the budget to reach a reported $1 million. Although the film became a hit the final edit was given to others resulting in a third of his footage being cut. Irving Thalberg fired him from 'Merry Go Round' which was completed by Rupert Julien. He then started on 'Greed', which when completed was unreleasable being 42 reels with a running time of 7 hours. It was eventually cut down to 10 reels which still had a striking effect on audiences. 'The Wedding March' was so long that even in it's unfinished state it was released as two separate films in Europe. Gloria Swanson fired him from her production of 'Queen Kelly' when with no sign of the film nearing completion the costs had risen to twice the budget partly due to him re-shooting scenes that had already been passed by the Hays office. She then had to spend a further $200,000 putting the footage into releasable state. It was the end for him as a director, but he made a reasonable success as an actor in the talkies.- Actress

Adept at both comedy and drama, character player Eugene Roche (sometimes billed as Gene Roche) had an extensive four-decade career. Born in Depression-era Boston on September 22, 1928, he was the son of a Navy man.
Roche started on radio at age 15, displaying a knack for character voices, both men and women. He enlisted in the U.S. Army following high school, then studied at Emerson College. Searching for work in summer stock and variety shows, he appeared in productions of "Pal Joey" with Bob Fosse and "Point of No Return" with Henry Fonda. Newly married at this time, he found classical stage parts to play in early 1950s San Francisco, then headed for New York and began appearing in dramatic TV shows and commercials. He made his Broadway debut with "Blood, Sweat and Stanley Poole" starring Darren McGavin and went on to do "The White House" with Helen Hayes and "Mother Courage" with Anne Bancroft.
Comedy became his forte on TV with recurring or featured roles on Soap (1977), Night Court (1984), Perfect Strangers (1986) and Webster (1983), while choice support parts came his way on film, including The Late Show (1977) and Foul Play (1978). Not overly tall but built like the base of a Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, he could and did play scary guys very well. His "Luther Gillis" on Magnum, P.I. (1980), in a recurring role as an acquaintance in the same line of business whose violent streak Magnum keeps underestimating, went from bulldog PI to violent near-sociopath in less than a minute whenever faced with a (male) obstacle standing in his way. Roche also appeared in many 1970s/1980s TV series -- usually, but not always, as heavies -- such as "The Rookies", "Ironside", "McCloud", "Hawaii Five-0", "Kojak", "Phyllis", "Medical Center", "The Streets of San Francisco", "Barnaby Jones", "Maude", "Police Woman", "Starsky & Hutch", "Lou Grant", "All in the Family", "Hart to Hart", "Taxi", "Gimme a Break", "Airwolf", "Highway to Heaven", and "Murder, She Wrote". His last role was in an episode of "7th Heaven" in 2004 (the year of his death).
The father of nine children, three of his sons also opted for careers in entertainment: Eamonn Roche and Brogan Roche are actors, and Sean Roche is an Emmy award-winning writer and producer. Eugene died at the age of 75 on July 28, 2004 after suffering a heart attack.- Actor

Frazer Hines has a particular distinction in the world of Doctor Who (1963) as the most prolific companion in the original 26-year run of the series; only the first four Doctors, William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker, appeared in more episodes. He was born and raised in England and is of Scottish descent on his mother's side, who came from Port Glasgow. He came to prominence as a child actor, appearing in several films before he was fifteen, including X the Unknown (1956) and Charlie Chaplin's A King in New York (1957). In 1957 he played Napoleon in the six part BBC serial Huntingtower and followed this with the role of Jan in the seven part BBC serial The Silver Sword (1957-8). Other credits as a child actor include Run to Earth (1958) and William Tell (1958). Other television roles in the sixties include the characters of Tim Birch in Emergency Ward 10 (1963-4), and Roger Wain in Coronation Street (1965).
His big break came when he was cast to play the part of Jamie McCrimmon in the BBC series Doctor Who, a companion of the second Doctor, played by Patrick Troughton. Frazer appeared in the series regularly from 1966 to 1969, earning himself a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest running companion of the Doctor. He returned to the show twice, as a cameo in the 30th anniversary show 'The Five Doctors' (1983), and alongside Patrick Troughton (second Doctor) and Colin Baker (sixth Doctor) in 'The Two Doctors' (1985).
In 1972, Frazer was cast in the soap opera Emmerdale Farm as Joe Sugden, a role he played regularly until 1994. Since leaving the show he has concentrated on a career in the theatre, appearing in many plays, and he currently believes he holds the record for the second most consecutive pantomime appearances - the record holder being Christopher Biggins with 38 appearances. His most recent theatre tour was in John A Penzotti's Five Blue Haired Ladies Sitting On A Green Park Bench (2011).
Frazer has continued his association with Doctor Who and has appeared in and narrated several of the audio adventures published by Big Finish. He has also provided audio commentaries for several of his stories when released on DVD, and has narrated some of the soundtrack releases put out by BBC Audio and AudioGO.
In 1996 Frazer released his autobiography, Films, Farms and Fillies, but at the time of publication, the publishers were in the process of being sold, and so his book only received a rather lack-lustre paperback release. In 2010 therefore, he released a reissued hardback edition of the book, retitled Hines Sight, which corrected many of the typographical and production errors of the first release. This edition was then released in paperback in 2011, and as an audio edition in 2012. In 2013 he released a photographic book of images from his life called Fifty Shades of Frazer. Both are available from his website.- Actor

George DeNormand's life is an example of somebody whose life is almost too eventful to be true. Once he got out of the military, he became a professional boxer. Like most boxers, his career only lasted a handful of professional bouts however it opened up the door to a move to appearing as a stuntman in films.
While most boxers who appeared in movies had faces which showcased the many years of abuse they took during their career, DeNormand was able to escape with face and cognitive ability intact. In the 1930s, he started a long career as a stuntman. Like most stuntman, he had a specialty, and his was appearing in fight scenes and doubling for actors who the studio did not want to risk hurting.
There was no better period in DeNormand's career than the 1940s. By then he had established himself as one of the go-to brawlers for movies. This led him to be cast as a regular henchman in various Johnny Mack Brown movies where he was able to get paid as a stuntman and as an actor. Sometimes he was handy to have around just in case they needed a stuntman to do a fighting sequence or if they needed a random henchman to have beaten up. DeNormand had several credited roles in the late 1940s where he was an outlaw that Johnny Mack Brown had to fight or a gang member Brown had to shoot off a horse.
Like most stuntmen, DeNormand's body began to break down in the 1950s and he found regular work as an extra in both westerns and dramas as an extra. Sometimes he would be given dialog but DeNormand's thick New York accent made it really hard to give him lines of dialog if the setting was wrong. He was able to appear multiple times in many of the hit television shows of the time and he even had a few talking appearances in The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp.
By the late 1960s, DeNormand's stunt days were over. The various productions he worked for would occasionally have him do a few small stunts that could not be done by a regular person. These were regularly referred to by various cast members as "Whammys" where the stunt would not be hazardous enough to call in a member of the stuntman's union but where an extra would get upgraded in pay. One of DeNormand's final stunts or credits where he received a whammy was on the hit television show "The Wild Wild West" where he played a murdered toy maker who receives a close-up right before his body falls out of a closet.
DeNormand was heavily connected to the studios so by the 1970s, he was still receiving various silent bits from movies. He was still frequently chosen in shows like Gunsmoke to play a banker or movies like Get to Know Your Rabbit where he had a single line of dialog as an aspiring magician. DeNormand loved the motion picture industry and he continued to appear in various films until he died as result of cancer in 1976 leaving behind a legacy of somebody who appeared in various aspects of the film industry and who was greatly respected by all who knew him.- Actor

Academy Award-winning actor John Houseman's main contribution to American culture was not his own performances on film but rather, his role as a midwife to one of the greatest actor-directors-cinematic geniuses his adopted country ever produced (Orson Welles) and as a midwife to a whole generation of actors as head of the drama division of the Juilliard School.
Houseman was born Jacques Haussmann on September 22, 1902 in Bucharest, Romania, to May (Davies) and Georges Haussmann, who ran a grain business. His father was from an Alsatian Jewish family, and his mother, who was British, was of Welsh and Irish descent. John was raised in England, where he was educated. He emigrated to America in 1925, establishing himself in New York City, where he directed "Four Saints in Three Acts" for the theater in 1934. He founded the Mercury Theatre along with Orson Welles (whom he affectionately called "The Dog-Faced Boy"). Their most important success was a modern-dress version of Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar", in which the spectre of Hitler and Mussolini's Fascist states were evoked.
As a producer assigned to Unit 891 of the Federal Theater Project funded by the government's Works Progress Administration, he produced the legendary production "Cradle Will Rock", a musical about the tyranny of capitalism, with music by Marc Blitzstein, creative input from Welles, and starring leftists Howard Da Silva and Will Geer. The production was so controversial, it was banned before its debut, although the did manage to stage one performance. On Broadway, apart from the Mercury Theatre and the WPA, Houseman directed "The Devil and Daniel Webster" (1939) and "Liberty Jones" and produced "Native Son" (1941). During World War II, Houseman went to work for the Office of War Information and was involved in broadcasting radio propaganda for the Voice of America. After the war, Houseman returned to directing and produced Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's version of Julius Caesar (1953).
He had produced his first film, Orson Welles' Too Much Johnson (1938), while with the Mercury Theatre. He was involved with the pre-production of Citizen Kane (1941) but fell out with Welles due to Welles' already legendary ego. He produced a score of major films and was involved in three television series before devoting his life to teaching. He helped establish the acting program at New York's famous Julliard School for the Arts, where he influenced a new generation of actors. Ironically, he had appeared in only one major movie, in a supporting role, before being tapped to replace James Mason in The Paper Chase (1973). He won an Academy Award for the role and began a 15-year career as a highly sought after supporting player.
John Houseman, who wrote three volumes of memoirs, "Run-Through" (1972), "Front and Center" (1979) and "Final Dress" (1983), died at age 86 on October 31, 1988 after making major contributions to the theater and film.- Director

After gaining a cult reputation in the US with The Killer (1989), Woo was offered a Hollywood contract. He now works in the US.- Actor

While building a career in illustration an appreciation for poetry led to studying at HB Studio in New York City. The teachers encouraged him to pursue acting as a career leading to his first theatrical experience, opposite Faye Dunaway, in The Actor's Studio's production of "Etudes: Master Class Studies."
This led to guest starring in hit shows like FX's "Rescue Me," CBS's "Cold Case" opposite Tessa Thompson, NBC's "Law & Order", "The Slap" opposite Thandie Newton, and "Timeless" opposite Abigail Spencer.
Notable feature film works include James Ponsoldt's "Off the Black" (Sundance 2006), Stacie Passon's "Concussion" (Sundance 2013), Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street," and the Tribeca 2017 best film/best director winner; Rachel Israel's "Keep The Change."- Jules's performing career started at the tender age of seven when he sang as a chorister with the Winchester Cathedral Choir. For the next six years he toured the world, performing in prestigious venues such as Sydney's Opera House, The Royal Festival Hall in London, and St Thomas's Cathedral in New York, and had appeared as a soloist on the 7 critically acclaimed albums the choir made before he turned thirteen. Jules moved on to Eastbourne College on a choral scholarship. At Eastbourne he focused on music and acting and played the lead roles in several productions such as 'My Fair Lady', 'Sweet Charity', and 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf'. At the age of eighteen, Jules won a scholarship to Wells Cathedral, where he sang for part of his GAP year, and then gained entry to St Andrews University where he studied alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton. There he completed an Master of Arts in Art History, and performed in several plays and musicals such as 'City of Angels', 'Follies', and 'Antigone'.
At University, Jules decided that he wanted to be an actor, and applied to the Central School of Speech and Drama where he was offered one of the 20 places amongst over 3,000 applicants. He left Central in 2007, having specialised in Acting for Screen (MA), and launched himself into the world of entertainment.
Jules worked in the Houses of Parliament for an MP, in a PR company, a Headhunting company, ripped tickets in the Piccadilly theatre, picked up litter at the Wimbledon tennis tournament and handed out flyers for a bar in Covent Garden, in between training and auditions. To help pay the rent, Jules put a singing group together, using Facebook to find the other members. Two days after the group met for the first time to rehearse Jules found himself being offered a £1 million pound record deal by Universal Music, only 6 months after leaving drama school. Jules went on to make four chart topping albums with Blake, the debut album winning 'Album of the Year' at the Classical Brits in 2008 and going 'Gold' in under three weeks.
The group's third album, 'Together' gained Blake their second Brit award nomination. Blake had extraordinary successes both with their albums and live touring across the world, in territories as far flung as the Philippines, South Africa, Australia, China, Russia, Scandinavia, and Japan, They were were regulars at such venues as the Albert Hall, the Olympic stadium Twickenham, Wembley and the Royal Festival Hall and were a firm favourite with Royalty and celebrities alike. Having seen them on TV, Dame Shirley Bassey invited the to sing at her sumptuous 70'th birthday party at Cliveden House and they performed several times for the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
Jules went on to star in BBC One's medical drama series 'Holby City' as arrogant but capable Doctor Harry Tressler and soon became one of the hit show's most popular characters. The show regularly attracted over 5 million viewers per week and Jules quickly became an integral character, leading some gripping storylines. His leaving storyline caused a stir as Harry sustained major facial injuries, and the scale of prosthetics employed over a period of four episodes was a first, even for Holby. After two years, Jules left Holby and recorded his debut solo singing album with chart topping Producer Andrew Powell (Wuthering Heights) and Film and TV boss, Adrian Munsey. The album, 'Change of Heart' was released in April 20th 2015 and was recorded at Peter Gabriel's state of the art studio, 'Real World' with some of the world's finest musicians. - Actress

Katherine (also called Katharine) Alexander, an excellent character actress, had been born in 1897 to a mother who was part Cherokee and to a father who farmed land on Indian territory. And yet she was never given the part of a native American in the course of her thirty-five-year acting career. Often a society lady, at times a suffering wife or a dignified mother, she was nearly always all-American. At ease in the register of drama and tragedy as well as in that of comedy, Katherine Alexander was a talented and versatile performer who alternated theater and cinema throughout a highly respectable career. An artist she was bound to be but rather a concert one than a thespian. Her mother, a frustrated musician herself, had indeed seen to it that she receive a formal musical education and young Katherine proved gifted at the violin. And she was indeed giving a violin recital when producer Samuel Goldwyn, who needed an actress who could play the violin for a play he was producing, noticed the young lady and hired her for the role. Miss Alexander, who had not yet turned twenty, realized that she much preferred acting to music playing and that was the beginning of a fruitful career on stage first and alternately on the boards and on the big screen as soon as the cinema started talking. A leading lady on Broadway (where she delivered the lines of such distinguished playwrights as Arthur Schnitzler, Robert E. Sherwood or Philip Barry),she was soon seen as an indispensable supporting actress in Hollywood movies. She was always reliable and competent and did not pale by the side of great stars like Greta Garbo (the wife of Garbo's lover in The Painted Veil (1934)), Bette Davis (the wife of a lawyer in love with Davis in That Certain Woman (1937) ; Miss Trask in Now, Voyager (1942)), Cary Grant (Mrs. Morton in In Name Only (1939)) or John Barrymore (Miss Billow in The Great Man Votes (1939). Katherine Alexander's shining hour came in 1949, two years before she retired, when she embodied Linda Loman, the no-nonsense wife of pathetic salesman Paul Muni in the London production of Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman". After such a triumph, she decided to give up her career and for thirty years on, she enjoyed a happy second life until her death in early 1981.- Actress

Ace cinematographer Owen Roizman was born September 22, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York. His father Sol was a cinematographer for Fox Movietone News and his uncle Morrie Roizman was a film editor. Owen studied math and physics at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. He began his career shooting TV commercials, and made his feature debut as a director of photography with the obscure and little seen 1970 movie Stop! (1970). Owen brought a strong and compelling sense of raw, gritty, documentary-style realism to William Friedkin's harsh and hard-hitting police action thriller classic The French Connection (1971). Roizman received a well-deserved Academy Award nomination for his outstanding visual contributions to this picture; he went on to garner four additional Oscar nominations, for The Exorcist (1973), Tootsie (1982), Network (1976) and Wyatt Earp (1994). Owen gave a similar rough and grainy look to the edgy urban thrillers The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974) and Straight Time (1978). His other films encompass an impressively diverse array of different genres which include horror ("The Exorcist"), science fiction (The Stepford Wives (1975)), comedy (The Heartbreak Kid (1972) "Tootsie"), musicals (Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978)), drama (True Confessions (1981), Absence of Malice (1981)) and even Westerns (The Return of a Man Called Horse (1976), "Wyatt Earp"). His last feature to date was French Kiss (1995). In the early 1980s Owen took a hiatus from shooting films and formed the commercial production company Roizman and Associates.
