Born on September 19, 1978 in Tehran, Iran, Ramin Karimloo is an Iranian-Canadian singer and actor, best known for his work in musicals. When he was 2 months old, his parents were forced to flee Iran because of the Islamic Revolution. After spending two years in Italy, the family moved to Peterborough, Canada, where Karimloo grew up. At 12, he went on a school trip to see a touring production of "The Phantom of the Opera" and was so moved by Colm Wilkinson's performance as the Phantom that he decided to become an actor. He moved to Richmond Hill to attend Alexander Mackenzie High School, but dropped out at 18. He landed a job as a performer on a cruise ship, despite not having any experience in dancing, and two weeks later, after the lead singer dropped out, Karimloo took his place. On one such cruise he met Amanda Ramsden (known as Mandy), who later became his wife. In 2001, he and Mandy moved to London, where he got a job at a factory, but also found a voice teacher and an agent, landing a number of small roles in touring musicals such as "Sunset Boulevard" and "The Pirates of Penzance". In 2002 he debuted on West End as Feuilly in "Les Misérables", understudying Marius and Enjolras. In 2003 he got the role of Raoul in "The Phantom of the Opera" and went on to perform in "Les Misérables", this time as Enjolras, and in a touring production of "Miss Saigon" as Chris. In 2004, he appeared in a small role of Christine's father in the movie adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera (2004). In 2007, he became the youngest actor to ever play the Phantom in "The Phantom of the Opera" and two years later he was chosen by Andrew Lloyd Webber to be the Phantom in "Love Never Dies", a new musical continuing the character's story. In 2010, he played Enjolras in Les Misérables in Concert: The 25th Anniversary (2010), appearing on stage alongside his childhood hero Colm Wilkinson. A year later, they met again when Karimloo played the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall (2011), in which Wilkinson appeared as a special guest. In 2012 he released his first album, entitled simply "Ramin" (renamed "Human Heart" in the US). 2013 marked his Broadway debut, again in "Les Misérables", but this time in the leading role of Jean Valjean. This performance got him a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical. He went on to appear in musicals such as "The Secret Garden" (as Archibald Craven), "Murder Ballad" (as Tom), "Anastasia" (as Gleb Vaganov) and "Evita" (as Che). Michael Ball has enjoyed a very successful and varied career over the last 20 years, both in the West End and on the Concert Stage, working with some of the 20th century's most prolific musical theatre composers.
After graduating from the Guildford School of Acting, his professional debut was in "Godspell," playing the role of John the Baptist/Judas. His big break came when he appeared in Gilbert and Sullivan's "Pirates of Penzance" in the role of Frederick. In London's West End, he originated the roles of Marius in "Les Miserables" (his West End Debut) and Alex in "Aspects of Love" - a role he later recreated on Broadway. Michael also played Raoul in "Phantom of the Opera," and Giorgio in Stephen Sondheim's "Passion." In 2001 he appeared on the stage at London's Donmar Warehouse in a one-man show titled "Alone Together." The premise of the show was to tell the story of the life of a performer through song. No props, no orchestra, it was simply Michael alone on the stage with only a pianist accompanying him. The performance was recorded and released on DVD in 2002. He followed his Donmar success by originating the role of Caractacus Potts in the stage adaptation of the popular film "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."
In May 1992 he represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song "One Step Out Of Time." He finished in second place. Following his success in Eurovision, Michael embarked on a recording career, releasing 18 albums in the last 13 years. He also did several tours throughout the United Kingdom. Four of his concerts were released on DVD, "Musicals and More," "Live At the Royal Albert Hall," "This Time It's Personal," and "Live in London."
He returned to "Les Miserables" twice - in 1995 to re-create his role of Marius for the 10th Anniversary Concert Performance at Royal Albert Hall, and again in 2004 when he was asked to play Jean Valjean in a special performance for Queen Elizabeth II and French President Jacques Chirac at Windsor Castle.
In 2004, Michael traveled to Australia, where he did five sold-out concerts. He followed that tour with his first concerts in the U.S., in Salt Lake City Utah. In October of 2004 he reprised his "Alone Together" show in the Theatre Royal, Haymarket, as part of their "Singular Sensations" series.
2005 has been an interesting, active year for him. In February, he unexpectedly returned to the London stage in Andrew Lloyd Webber's new musical "The Woman in White." He stepped into the role of Count Fosco when Michael Crawford, who originated the role, fell ill. After a month-long concert tour throughout the UK in early summer, Michael went into the recording studio to record his 19th CD, titled Music. In September, he made his New York City Opera Debut in their production of Gilbert and Sullivan's "Patience" at Lincoln Center, playing Reginald Bunthorne. In November, he returned to Broadway after a 15-year absence, playing Count Fosco in the Broadway production of The Woman in White.- Actress

Following an intimate concert at Chichester Cathedral as part of the 2011 festivities, Elaine returned to the USA to reprise her role in "Follies", this time on Broadway. "Follies" opened at the Marquis Theatre in New York on September 12, and once again the critics were unanimous in their praise for her performance; she was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical.
2012 kicked off with Elaine performing two concerts at New York's Lincoln Center - her debut concert performances in New York, which the New York Daily News said "After 34 years, London theatre legend Elaine Paige finally got to sing 'Don't Cry for Me Argentina' on a New York stage. It was worth the wait." After a short break, "Follies" moved to the West Coast of America in May to the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles for a limited six-week-only, sold-out engagement.
The year ended with a series of successful concert appearances in New Zealand, Australia, and the Far East, and two special concerts in the UK - one at Raymond Blanc's La Manoir in Oxford and the other for The Prince's Trust at the Central Hall Westminster in London.
As 2013 commenced, Elaine was nominated and won the 2012 BroadwayWorld Los Angeles Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Touring) and the original cast recording of "Follies", featuring Elaine, was included in the category Best Musical Theater Album in the 55th Grammy Award nominations. Following a tour of Scandinavia, Elaine completed her first ever concert tour of the USA, playing to sell out audiences and garnering rave reviews.
2014 kicked off with The Elaine Paige Show on Sky Arts TV. As the series went to air, a brand new Warner CD The Ultimate Collection was released to celebrate Elaine's 50th year in the business featuring hits, rare unreleased tracks and a brand new re-mix of "Be On Your Own" from the musical "Nine" by Almighty Records.
The year ended with a sell-out UK tour including a spectacular night at London's prestigious Royal Albert Hall accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra which was not only broadcast on BBC Radio 2, but was filmed and released in cinemas worldwide and later as a live DVD/CD as I'm Still Here.
2015 saw Elaine continue her 50th Anniversary tour, perform live at the V.E. Day 70 Concert at London's Horse Guards Parade Ground, top the bill at some summer festival dates in the UK, and take on two very different acting roles - one in the indie film Speed Love, which is a thriller based around a speed dating event due for release in 2016, and the other in Russell T. Davies' adaptation of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream", in which Elaine played the role of Mistress Quince, head of the mechanicals and director of the play within the play, which aired on BBC1 TV on Monday, 30 May 2016.
In early 2016, Elaine announced a series of weekend concerts entitled Stripped Back, which saw her perform her favourite tracks, from an array of contemporary songwriters with a small group of musicians, in some of the UK's most beautiful venues
And so with these recent projects, along with her continued success on BBC Radio 2 with "Elaine Paige On Sunday" and much more planned for the future, it's very fitting for the title of her most recent cinema and DVD release to be ... I'm Still Here!- Actor

It took a summer of acting in a children's theater group to convince Matthew Morrison that he wanted to become an actor. He auditioned and attended Orange County High School of the Arts, and followed that with NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, although he didn't enjoy his college foray. Despite a regulation that students couldn't audition in the first two years at NYU, he got himself an agent and dropped out from NYU. His musical debut was in the musical version of Footloose (1984), which was then followed by "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." His big break, however, was in "Hairspray" when he landed the part of "Link Larkin." It was after this role that he made a debut into the television and film world, with small roles in Sex and the City (1998), Hack (2002), Encino Man (1992), and others. His self-proclaimed favorite role he did in television was in Once Upon a Mattress (2005), a musical for TV that starred Carol Burnett. He was nominated for a Tony for his role in "The Light in the Piazza" and eventually left the show in late 2005. He dabbled some more in roles among the television, film, and theater world. After starring in the Lincoln Center production of "South Pacific" as "Lieutenant Cable" in 2008, he took on the role of "Will Schuester" in the upcoming Fox series Glee (2009), which premiers in fall 2009.- Actor
