Ranking the Wizart Snow Queen Movies

by Animation-Is-Coolio | created - 03 Jan 2021 | updated - 07 Feb 2021 | Public

Though there really is no consistency in the stories of each of these movies, and though they probably started as a way to ripoff Disney's overrated "Frozen", they have moments that will stay in my heart forever. I hope more people will get to enjoy these in the future. Starting with the best, ending with the worst.

The original one that started it all, and while there are clearly issues in it, I love it as a guilty pleasure. An overall good movie.

2. The Snow Queen 4: Mirrorlands (2018)

TV-Y | 84 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

After a powerful king traps all the world's magicians in the Mirrorlands, Gerda battles to keep magic alive through kindness and friendship.

The best animation in the series, but probably the weirdest story. Interesting racial allegory, but there are so many plot holes. It is definitely the most entertaining though (best comedy of the series).

3. The Snow Queen 3: Fire and Ice (2016)

TV-G | 89 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

The rare gift of getting into all kinds of trouble is their family trait. What else can you expect from the ones raised among trolls in snowy lands? But now Kai and Gerda have grown up and ... See full summary »

Director: Alex Tsitsilin | Stars: Natalya Bystrova, Nikolay Bystrov, Filipp Lebedev, Diomid Vinogradov

Votes: 2,382

Great animation, probably the best story of all the series, Rolland is a nice addition to the cast, and a plausible way for the Snow Queen to reappear in the story.

4. The Snow Queen 2 (2014)

TV-Y | 81 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

Snow queen casts a curse on her mirror making people see the worst in themselves.

Director: Alex Tsitsilin | Stars: Ivan Okhlobystin, Anna Shurochkina, Garik Kharlamov, Anna Khilkevich

Votes: 2,506

Worst story (the trolls are not that interesting), but the lesson is well executed, and the snowy villain is so entertaining and a good use of duality in the story (the villain is the protagonist).
