Lene Borglum joined Zentropa right after it was founded in 1992, and was one of the key persons and co owner of the company for 15 years until 2007 when she left to start up on her own. Borglum was deeply involved in the development of Zentropa from its very start till its state in 2007 as a major European independent production company. In her position as expert in international financing she handled international financing on a large number of Zentropa's international films, including Lars von Trier's highly acclaimed and awarded films The Kingdom I and II (1994, 1996), The Idiots, Breaking The Waves (1996), Dancer in the Dark (2000), and was Executive Producer on Trier's Dogville (2003), Manderlay (2005), and The Boss Of It All (2006). After Borglum left Zentropa, she has been executive producer on Swedish director Lukas Moodysson's first English language feature film Mammoth (2009) and Nicolas Winding Refn's Valhalla Rising (2009).
After their successful collaboration on Nicolas Winding Refn's Valhalla Rising, Borglum and Refn teamed up to found production company Space Rocket Nation in January 2008.
Space Rocket Nation mainly aims to produce highly artistic and edgy feature films for an international audience by Nicolas Winding Refn, as well as to build up a new generation of edgy, artistic Scandinavian directors, both for fiction and documentaries, and help them reach the international audience. Producer Louise Vesth (b. 1973). Has a BA in economics and graduated from the producing programme at The National Film School of Denmark in 2001. Since 2001 she has worked as a producer with the Danish film company, Zentropa.
Louise Vesth has had long term collaborations with directors like Christian E. Christiansen, Mikkel Nørgaard, Nikolaj Arcel, Anders Rønnov Klarlund and Lars Von Trier. After directing several shorts, documentaries, series and TV films for Dutch Television she made a wonderful children's movie Het paard van Sinterklaas (2005), about a little Chinese girl trying to adjust to her new life in Holland. Ariane Labed (born 8 May 1984) is a Greek-born French actress and film director. She is best known for her feature film debut in Attenberg, for which she won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress, and appearing in Helen Edmundson's film Mary Magdalene in 2018.
Born to French parents, Ariane Labed lived her first six years in Athens, then six years in Germany. She arrived in France at 12 years old. Ariane Labed studied theater at the University of Provence (Deust Basic training in theater, Bachelor of Performing Arts and Master Dramaturgy and scenic writing). She participated in the creation of the Vasistas theater troupe with Argyro Chioti and went on stage with the National Theater of Greece.
Labed was awarded the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the 67th Venice International Film Festival for her performance in Attenberg, directed by Athina Rachel Tsangari, which was her debut film.
