When she was a child, Jeanne Balibar wanted to be a dancer. She was already attracted by the stage and the show and admired great opera singers like Maria Callas. As she was going to take the last exam for becoming a lecturer, she decided not to go to the exam but to take an exam to become a stage actress. She went to the French academy for young actors, in Paris (like The Actors Studio, as if acting isn't taught in the same way) and she passed the very difficult exam without having previously acted in any play nor movie. When she finished her studies for acting, she started to work for La Comédie Française, a world-known French company which only produces French classics. She played the part of Elvire, from Molière's "Don Juan" in the biggest French stage festival: the festival of Avignon. She was really acclaimed by the French critics and public. She started to play in French cinema with directors such as Arnaud Desplechin ("My sexual like or how I get into an argument") or Olivier Assayas ("Last August, Early September" for which she earned a best actress award in the Spanish movie festival of San Sebastian). As though, these parts were dramatic, she was also wonderful in comedies such as "Ca ira mieux demain" (Jeanne Labrune) which made her more famous. She was really acclaimed for these movies but not very popular, as these films weren't blockbusters. The film which really made her famous is Rivette's "Who Knows" where she played the lead role of Camille, a French stage actress and created a very impressionating and innovative way of acting. She replaced Emmanuelle Béart for this part and became a very respected actress. She started to sing in 2003 and she did a record called "Paramour" with songs such as "Johnny Guitar" (from the Nicholas Ray's movie), "Pearl" (from "The Night of the Hunter") or even "Hélas" (a duet with Maggie Cheung who acted with her in "Clean", by Olivier Assayas). She is still a stage actress and started an international career with Winterbottom's "Code 46" (she played the part of Tim Robbin's girlfriend). As if she is not the most popular French actress, she is one of the most talented and her talents seem to have no limit: stage and movie acting, singing and soon dancing in Berliner's "Fred Astaire".2003 : Code 46 : Sylvie : minor- Actress

Jennifer knew from the time she was 4 she wanted to be a "star" and began her career as a snowflake in Kindergarten.
She was also a cheerleader in High School and made a historical moment for Kingston High School when she and another classmate were the first of 2 junior girls to be chosen for Varsity Cheerleading (which was normally reserved for only Seniors at the time), won State and National Cheerleading competitions 3 years in a row as well as winning the Spirit Stick at a national Cheerleading Camp. In Jr. High School, she was on the math team, debate team and was a public speaking competitor into High School. She participated in not only school plays throughout her entire educational career, but did outside shows for the local Community College and Community and Regional Theatres beginning at age 14.
In her teen years, Jennifer also directed and choreographed for various community productions and pageants. She has also judged many teen and adult pageants and was a celebrity judge for Miss Deaf America.
From childhood to present, ever the 'over-achiever', a teenage Dr. Delora was active in almost every club in school: yearbook, newspaper, poetry paper & book, student government and much more. A popular student with all groups of kids, she was invited to be a soloist at her Sr. year's "May Day", and starred in every school play and musical. At her 20th high school reunion, she enjoyed seeing a lot of her old friends and acquaintances and spend a great deal of the time taking photos with, and signing autographs for her fellow alumni.
Jennifer was also an early admissions student to Ulster County Community College (now SUNY Ulster) beginning in her junior year where she majored in Theatre Arts and was inducted into the national theatre honor society "Delta Psi Omega" at age 17. There, she starred in plays such as the "Harvey", "No, No Nanette", and "Vaudeville" shows, summer stock and "That's Musical Comedy II" show and tour. At the same time she was very active in Community Theatre in the tri-county area of Upstate New York and did several Renaissance festivals and choreographed and directed for local high schools, usually doing at least 2 different shows at once. She later, after Miss Ulster County, went on tour with "Beauty and the Beast" for a youth theatre tour of the southern states of the US.
Delora did her first film at age 17 as a featured extra in "The Greatest Man in the World" for PBS, then was invited by Warner Bros. to do a guest role of "girl at phone" (Christine Baranski as "girl at bar), for "Soup for One" and one year later she was in New York City from her small upstate town in Ulster County NY, attending the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts and doing off-off and off-Broadway dramas, comedies and musicals. She has played such diverse roles as "Nurse Kelly" in "Harvey" to "Ado Annie" in "Oklahoma!", first "Miep" and then "Anne Frank" in "The Diary of Anne Frank", "Mazeppa" in "Gypsy" to "Jenny" in "Everything in the Garden" (both a standard stage version in NYC to a mixed cast of hearing, deaf and hard of hearing actors in LA).
After doing over 30 plays and musicals by this time, she got her first film with the starring role as "Lisa" in Bad Girls Dormitory (1986). She then continued stage acting, and, at age 24, entered the Miss America Preliminary in Ulster County. Jennifer not only won the title (at the stroke of midnight as she turned 25) to go to Miss NY and Miss America, but won both the talent competition (with a musical song & dance medley) and "Miss Congeniality". Approximately 3 months after she was crowned, she was (and remains) only the 2nd woman in Miss America Pageant history to be "de-crowned".

She also went on to work and get an Emmy nod for her role as a Deaf Nun in "Breaking Through" with JoBeth Williams and Kellie Martin (which she also technical advised and got many awards for that talent). She's also worked with Ann-Margret on a CBS movie-of-the-week, Blue Rodeo (1996), which also starred Kris Kristofferson. She has had over 30 articles published in various journals including for Antioch University, ADBA and many Deaf publications and even one in Emmy Magazine who earlier that year had called her "the most remarkable actor in Hollywood".
Jennifer held a record as the oldest woman in the top 500 from the MySpace Bowio top 100 at #3, out aging the other women by 15-25 years; a record she held before and after she turned 45 on March 2nd. She looks 30 and says she feels and looks and is rocking better than she ever did back in her 30s.
She's diverse as an actress from horror (known most famously as the Queen of the B's, Icon of Fright, Scream Queen" etc.) but has also made her mark in television with her TV films, shows and her recurring role in the children's series, "Jay Jay the Jet Plane".

She's happy to be doing the shows where she gets to meet the fans in person as they are amazing and she loves doing it. She has vowed that no matter what she's working on, she will continue to do the shows and stay devoted to the fans that kept her around and get her where she is.
She rides a huge motorcycle in a bikini top and cut offs through the streets of LA, loves cliff diving, and is a 4.0 tennis player. She has done and continues to do a great deal of charity work on behalf of children, victims of domestic violence (like herself) and plays golf, tennis and has been with the Special Olympics as a volunteer since she was 12.
She has also been an inspirational speaker all over the country and says she will always take time to teach, volunteer, and do her variety of activities because they keep life interesting and she is always running into fans, large and small, wherever she goes.

Jennifer Garner, who catapulted into stardom with her lead role on the television series Alias (2001), has come a long way from her birthplace of Houston, Texas. Raised in Charleston, West Virginia by her mother Patricia Ann (née English), a retired English teacher, and her father, Billy Jack Garner, a former chemical engineer, she is the second of their three daughters. She spent nine years of her adolescence studying ballet, and characterizes her years in dance as consisting of determination rather than talent, being driven mostly by a love of the stage.
Jennifer took this determination with her when she enrolled at Denison University as a chemistry major; later she changed her major when she discovered that her passion for the stage was stronger than her love of science. New York attracted the young actress after college, and she worked as a hostess while pursuing a career in film and television. Her most recent move has been to Los Angeles, a decision that led to a role on the television series Felicity (1998), where she met her future husband Scott Foley. The couple divorced in 2004.
Jennifer starred in the television series Alias (2001) as Agent Sydney Bristow, who works for the Central Intelligence Agency. For her work, Garner has received four consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She has also received four Golden Globe nominations and won once, as well as received two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, and won once. She has appeared in numerous other television production as well as such films as Elektra (2005), 13 Going on 30 (2004), Daredevil (2003), Pearl Harbor (2001) and Dude, Where's My Car? (2000). Aside from filming Alias (2001), Jennifer enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking, and--inspired by her character on the series--kickboxing. She married actor and filmmaker Ben Affleck in 2005, now her ex-husband, with whom she has three children.2022 : The Adam Project : Ellie Reed : major- Actress

Melanie Griffith was born on August 9, 1957 in New York City, to then model/future actress Tippi Hedren and former child actor turned advertising executive Peter Griffith. Her parents' marriage ended when she was four years old and Tippi brought Melanie to Los Angeles to get a new start. Tippi caught the eye of the great director Alfred Hitchcock, who gave her starring roles in The Birds (1963) and Marnie (1964). She married her then-agent, Noel Marshall, in 1964 (they divorced in 1982), and Melanie grew up with three stepbrothers. Meanwhile, her father married Nanita Greene and had two more children: Tracy Griffith and Clay A. Griffith.
Melanie also grew up with tigers and lions, as Tippi and Noel were raising them for the movie Roar (1981), in which the family later starred. Melanie's acting career, however, began as a model at just nine months old in a commercial and she later appeared as an extra in Smith! (1969) and The Harrad Experiment (1973), where she fell in love with her mother's co-star, Don Johnson. She was only 14 years old, while he was a 22-year-old with two annulled marriages. Tippi took a very liberal approach and allowed Melanie to move in with Don at a tender age. Even though Melanie didn't like modeling, she continued to do it to pay the bills. One day she went to meet with director Arthur Penn for what she thought was a modeling assignment. It was actually an audition for his film Night Moves (1975), and Penn gave her the role of a runaway nymphet. She was hesitant, but Johnson encouraged her to take the role. She agreed but was terrified of performing in front of the camera. Penn took a paternal interest in her, and she felt confident and gave a riveting performance, doing racy nude scenes. It immediately typecast her and led to more nymphet roles, with her beautiful nude body a permanent fixture in movies like Ha-Gan (1977) and Joyride (1977). She also married Johnson, eloping in 1976, but the union ended within six months.
Unfortunately, as her career progressed, she became increasingly dependent on drugs and alcohol, a fact well-known to studio executives, who stopped considering her for feature film roles. Melanie started doing television work, where she met her second husband, Steven Bauer, on the set of the TV movie She's in the Army Now (1981). He helped her to overcome her drug and alcohol problems and got her to take acting classes with Stella Adler in New York. The classes paid off, as director Brian De Palma cast her as a porno actress in his murder mystery Body Double (1984) and her sexy, funny performance won her rave reviews and the Best Supporting Actress Award by the National Society of Film Critics and a Golden Globe nomination. Jonathan Demme was so impressed with her performance that he gave her the female lead in Something Wild (1986) without even auditioning her. The film was a commercial failure but quickly became a cult favorite on video and cable, with Melanie again getting critical plaudits and a Golden Globe nomination.
The birth of her first child, Alexander, in 1985, didn't help to save her struggling marriage, and she and Bauer separated shortly thereafter. Melanie was given starring roles in Cherry 2000 (1987) and Stormy Monday (1988), but the films were barely released. Soon writers were asking when the public at large was going to take notice of this unique and talented actress. Melanie's career skyrocketed when Mike Nichols cast her as spunky secretary Tess McGill in Working Girl (1988), a box-office hit for which she received an Oscar nomination as Best Actress and won the Golden Globe Award as Best Actress in a Comedy. However, her ongoing substance abuse had almost destroyed her career yet again, and Nichols pushed her into a rehabilitation clinic. En route to the clinic she called ex-husband Johnson for support, and they reconciled after her release from the clinic. She got pregnant, divorced Bauer and remarried Johnson in 1989, and later that year their daughter Dakota Johnson was born. A sober Melanie now concentrated on her film career: her follow-up to "Working Girl" was John Schlesinger's Hitchcockian urban thriller Pacific Heights (1990). It was a moderate success, but most of the films she chose flopped badly, especially The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990), which reunited her with director Brian De Palma. Even though she gave heartfelt performances in all her films, she was often miscast, with her breathy little-girl voice not helping matters in her role as a spy in Shining Through (1992) and as a homicide detective going undercover in the Hassidic Jewish community in New York City in A Stranger Among Us (1992).
Melanie was charming as a street hooker who befriends a group of elementary students in Milk Money (1994), but the film received negative reviews and performed dismally at the box office. She made a minor comeback with the critics for her supporting role as a desperate housewife in Nobody's Fool (1994), which reunited her with Bruce Willis, her co-star in "Bonfire", and Paul Newman, her co-star from The Drowning Pool (1975). She also earned a Golden Globe nomination for her work in the well-received TV miniseries Buffalo Girls (1995), followed by another hit film, the ensemble Now and Then (1995). Her personal life was making headlines again, though, as she left Johnson because of his own substance-abuse problems, reconciled with him briefly when he became sober, only to leave him again, this time for Antonio Banderas, her married co-star from Two Much (1995). Both she and Banderas created a scandal in 1995 with their torrid romance, and the tabloids followed their every move, including her divorce from Johnson and his divorce from wife Ana Leza. Melanie became pregnant with her third child, and she and Banderas married in 1996. Their daughter Stella Banderas was born, and the notorious couple were forgiven by the public and the media.
Melanie won strong reviews in independent films like Another Day in Paradise (1998), where she played a heroin-using criminal accomplice on the run, and the made-for-cable movie RKO 281 (1999), in which she portrayed actress Marion Davies, a part that garnered her Golden Globe and Emmy nominations as Best Supporting Actress. Melanie became dependent to pain killers, however, returning to rehab in 2000. She wrote about her struggle and recovery in her journal on her official website. Greenmoon Productions, the production company that she formed with Banderas, produced several flops, such as her starring vehicle Crazy in Alabama (1999), directed by Banderas. Her career took another blow when her TV series, Me & George (1998), never even aired. After making Cecil B. Demented (2000) and Forever Lulu (2000), Melanie did a voice-over role in Stuart Little 2 (2002) and played supporting roles in minor films Tempo (2003), as Sylvester Stallone's girlfriend in Shade (2003), and as Barbara Sinatra in All the Way (2003) with Dennis Hopper playing Frank Sinatra, but none of these films made a ripple at the box office. As a result, film and television offers dried up.
In 2003, a resourceful Melanie turned to the Broadway stage, and packed houses with her turn as the murderess "Roxie Hart" in the musical "Chicago," for which she received a rave review from the New York Times theater critic. It renewed her confidence, as she had never sang, danced or been on the Broadway stage before. In 2005 she surprised viewers by playing a mom to two grown women in the TV series Twins (2005), which was canceled after one season. She tried to resurrect her career with another attempt at a TV series, Viva Laughlin (2007), but it was canceled after just two episodes. Melanie didn't act again for the remainder of the decade, because, by self-admission, she couldn't obtain any worthwhile roles. In 2009, she was back in rehab after yet another relapse, emerging after a three-month stay. Professionally, she was faced with more disappointment in 2012 when This American Housewife (2012), a Lifetime series that Banderas produced for her to star in, never aired. She went back to the stage in 2012 and played Scott Caan's mother in a play that he wrote titled "No Way Around but Through." She impressed Caan enough to recommend her to producers of his television show Hawaii Five-0 (2010). Since 2014, she started playing a recurring role as his mother on the show.
Also in 2014, Melanie filed for divorce from Banderas citing "irreconcilable differences" after nearly twenty years together. She never publicly discussed her reasons for the divorce, and she didn't promote her feature film Automata (2014), the final time that she acted with Banderas. It took a year for the divorce to be finalized, during which time, she and Banderas made one important appearance together at their daughter Stella's high school graduation. She also made another public appearance with another ex-husband, Don Johnson, on Saturday Night Live (1975) to support their daughter Dakota, who was the host for that week. Dakota was promoting her star-making turn in Fifty Shades of Grey (2015), thus carrying on the family tradition of being a film actress. Melanie maintains close ties with her three children and her mother Tippi Hedren. She is involved in various charities, including raising funds for Tippi's Shambala preserve, a refuge for wild animals. Melanie also runs a non-profit organization for benefiting burned children. Melanie is single and her children are living on their own, so she has devoted most of her time to seeking out acting roles.1987 : Cherry 2000 (1987) : E. Her stage work began at the American Mime Theatre, and carried her to Broadway both for "Nine", "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Seesaw", "The Magic Show", "Sugar Babies" and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas".
Morris' film work included The Hotel New Hampshire (1984), Absolute Beginners (1986) with David Bowie and James Fox, Ruthless People (1986) with Danny DeVito and Bette Midler, 18 Again! (1988) with George Burns and Charlie Schlatter, Bloodhounds of Broadway (1989) and Radioland Murders (1994), which was her final film role. During the 1980s and 1990s, she played guest roles in sitcoms and dramas, including Miami Vice (1984), Who's the Boss? (1984), Murder, She Wrote (1984), Cheers (1982), Matlock (1986), Melrose Place (1992), Tales from the Crypt (1989) and A Different World (1987). Anita Morris died at age 50 of ovarian cancer on March 2, 1994 in Los Angeles, California. She was interred at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham, North Carolina.

Samantha Morton has established herself as one of the finest actors of her generation, winning Oscar nominations for her turns in Woody Allen's Sweet and Lowdown (1999) and Jim Sheridan's In America (2002). She has the talent to become one of the major performers in the cinema of this young century.
Samantha Morton was born on May 13, 1977 in Nottingham, England to parents who divorced when she was three years old. Peter and Pamela Morton took other spouses and made Samantha part of a mixed family of 13; she has eight brothers and sisters. She turned to play-acting early in her life, while she was a school-girl.
At 13, she left regular school to train as an actress at the Central Junior Television Workshop, where she learned her craft for three years. It was at the end of her training then that she decided that a life as a professional actress was for her.
She honed her skills in television roles, working her way up from series television to TV-movies and prestigious mini-series, such as Emma (1996) and Jane Eyre (1997). Her first major film role, Under the Skin (1997), won her the Best Actress Award from the Boston Film Critics Society. Woody Allen cast her as Hattie, the "dumb" (unspeaking) lover of Sean Penn's caddish jazz guitarist in Sweet and Lowdown (1999), a beautiful performance in a role that could have flummoxed a less-talented performer. Penn was Oscar-nominated for his performance, but it was Morton's Hattie that was central to the success of the film, Allen's last unqualified success. She provided the moral and narrative center of the film. It was quite a remarkable performance for a 21-year old as she had to do all her acting with her face, having been shorn of her voice. The role of Hattie won Morton a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award nomination.
Ironically, Morton had never seen a Woody Allen movie before. (She grew up watching the TV and listening to the radio.) She agreed to do the film after reading the script (as she says, well-written roles for women are hard to find), and the movie made her a hot commodity in Hollywood after she won the Oscar nomination. (She lost out to Angelina Jolie). Morton was offered many roles, but was very choosy as she was not in acting as a game with a payoff of stardom and money.
She had consolidated her reputation by following up the Allen film with work in indie features that showed that she was not only talented, but quite courageous as a performer. She played a heroin addict in the underrated Jesus' Son (1999) and gave a brilliant performance in Morvern Callar (2002), the story of a Scottish supermarket clerk coping with her boyfriend's suicide.
Steven Spielberg cast her, opposite superstar Tom Cruise, as the clairvoyant in Minority Report (2002), in which she more than held her own opposite Cruise and the special effects. (She took the role as Cruise and Steven Spielberg are favorites of hers). As good as she was, Morton was better served by Irish director Jim Sheridan, Sheridan cast her as a character modeled after his wife in an autobiographical picture more in line with persona and that made better use of her talents. Her performance as the young Irish mother coping with life in New York City in In America (2002) won her numerous critics' awards and another Oscar nod, this time as Best Actress.
At this point, one feels that the odds of her winning the Oscar are even or better. Samantha Morton continues to deliver fine work in provocative films such as Michael Winterbottom's Code 46 (2003), though she is branching out towards the mainstream, taking a role in the remake of that perennial family favorite, Lassie (2005).2003 : Code 46 : Maria Gonzales : lead- 1997 : Time Tracers : Julia Duffy : unk
