- DirectorBruce BaillieBruce Baillie's Mr. Hayashi might be thought of as a putative East Coast story transformed by a West Coast sensibility. The narrative, slight as it is, mounts a social critique of sorts, involving the difficulty the title character, a Japanese gardener, has finding work that pays adequately. But the beauty of Baillie's black-and-white photography, the misty lusciousness of the landscapes he chooses to photograph, and the powerful silence of Mr. Hayashi's figure within them make the viewer forget all about economics and ethnicity. The shots remind us of Sung scrolls of fields and mountain peaks, where the human figure is dwarfed in the middle distance. Rather than a study of unemployment, the film becomes a study of nested layers of stillness and serenity.

- DirectorNicolás PrivideraPremiered in the framework of Bafici, Seized Files: Film School is the second collective feature sponsored by the Museum of the Cinema of Buenos Aires, this time with propaganda series produced during the fifties, aimed at a young audience also protagonist of them. The more re-concentrated nature of materials, less heterogeneous than events intervened "first project use old newsreel "Sucesos Argentinos"", makes that the movie has a more cohesive character on the back and return of the same images, flowed through various searches of each Director, creating different looks and uses. In this case, the director wanted to out his 'intervention' in all senses of the word, just like Prividera's previous feature films. In fact, in these few minutes is both using the file how in the beginning of Fatherland (2011), and the intertitles deployed on M (2007), in base a quote it reconsiders those old images and words looking for its resonance in our present.

He does not appear to be employed by the track, but seems to provide his services voluntarily. His protection from "fanatics" gives the film its title. The film is shot in a documentary style, but the sheer implausibility of the dialogue leaves the exact nature of the film ambiguous.

- DirectorAgustina ComediStarsLa DelpiMarcos GarcíaMartín ShanlyIn Córdoba, far from the Argentine capital, the end of a military regime promises a spring that is all too brief. "La Delpi" is the only survivor of a group of friends who are transgender women and drag-queens, who began to die of aids in the late 80s. In a Catholic and conservative city, the Grupo Kalas made their weapons and trenches out of improvised dresses and lip-syncing. Today the images of unique and unknown footage are not only a farewell letter, but a manifesto to friendship.
- A making of in a time when backstage didn't exist. A 1986 short documentary film launched when Argentina was just beginning its "democracy". Made only two years after the military dictatorship collapsed. This is a "rare avis" with several levels, layers, and times of narration. Heterogeneous materials and times were homogenized with a smart narrative edition. Back then, in the leaden years, fiction commercial films gained to documentary films. This film remarks on the limits between reality and fiction, with young innocent actors in front playing real events that they did not even imagine had happened. It is a great montage film made by Rolando Santos and is a good example of collectively working with the past in defiance of narrative conventions.
