Batwoman Season 1 Ratings
Season Overview:
I didn't come into this show thinking that it would actually be good, but it really did surprise me. The season started off relatively slow as it found its footing, and then the second half of the season really picked up. Alice towards the middle of the season did get kind of boring, when they were trying to play her as both the villain but also an ally. The show has its own general style which is different from other shows in the Arrowverse, which includes some great cinematography in certain episodes. Kate Kane is relatively likeable and the show handles the LGBT components pretty well; it's subtle enough as to where it doesn't feel forced. It introduces plenty of characters that work well with each other, and also handles the Batman connection well. It doesn't overuse Batman villains and also has the plot device of Kate writing to Bruce as a voice-over in some episodes which is nice. Next season I'd love to see more classic Batman villains, as in this season we only really got to see Hush, and that was right towards the end. With the news of Ruby Rose leaving, I'd really like to see someone like Wallis Day take over the role of Batwoman, as I thought she was great in Krypton and could play the role really well. Basically all the Arrowverse shows have improved in their second season, so I'm really looking forward to the next season of this!

Great episode. Some of the VFX (especially the greenscreen) were not very good, but it still was a great ep. - DirectorHolly DaleStarsRuby RoseRachel SkarstenMeagan TandyA new villain with an eye for all things that sparkle drops in on the city. Great. The final fight was pretty underwhelming though. It felt really slow and weirdly paced, but that's probably just growing pains for the show. Tonally, this episode probably was the best so far, as it had a good mix of serious moments and humorous moments, making Kate Kane more relatable in the process. - DirectorCarl SeatonStarsRuby RoseRachel SkarstenMeagan TandyAlice takes Kate down the sad, winding road of her life in the days after the accident; Mary has an argument with Catherine that sends her looking for Kate at Wayne Tower, but she comes unwelcome company for Luke.7.25/10
idk what happened in the audio department this week, but other than that it was ok. Not an overly bad episode but I can't watch it without noticing lots of small problems. - DirectorScott PetersStarsRuby RoseRachel SkarstenMeagan TandyA disturbing death has Gotham reeling and the city reaches out for their new vigilante hero. Great episode. Great character introduction to Julia, and a good non-linear feeling. The restaurant scene felt like it could've been extremely cringey, but it was actually great. Kate Kane was charismatic, and I feel like the LGBTQ++ contents was handled in a good way. Best episode so far. - DirectorHolly DaleStarsRuby RoseRachel SkarstenMeagan TandyKate and Alice continue their sister/nemesis dance, while Alice and Mouse construct their most evil plan yet. Mary invites Kate to a special event honoring Catherine and Jacob makes a decision that leaves Kate perplexed.8.25/10
Right, can we just get rid of Alice now. I can't handle another half of a season with her as the villain. Either make her go full villain, or just get rid of her in the next few episodes. - DirectorLaura BelseyStarsRuby RoseCamrus JohnsonLaMonica GarrettThe group uses Ray's invention to track new recruits to help save the universe. As they tackle the newest threat to Gotham, Luke prioritizes protecting Batwoman's secret, and Kate must decide what she is willing to do to honor Batwoman's identity...and her own.8.25/10
Good episode. Hopefully the Beth storyline will actually go somewhere. The twist was good, and now i just hope the show goes more into weekly villains instead of its mostly serialized start, so it can further find its footing. From the looks of the promo, next week will be a followup to this twist and then hopefully it will be a string of good procedural episodes up until the finale, as I can't handle another half a season with 20 minutes+ per week dedicated to some half baked Alice or Sophie plot line. - DirectorMairzee AlmasStarsRuby RoseRachel SkarstenMeagan TandyThe Kane sisters contend with demons from the past on their birthday; an unexpected guest makes a surprise appearance in Gotham.8.25/10
I enjoyed it. - DirectorTara MieleStarsRuby RoseRachel SkarstenMeagan TandyWith the hunt for Alice heating up, Kate faces a difficult decision.8.75/10
Loved the episode but I absolutely fucking hated that ending. What a completely stupid fucking cop-out. I am angry. I called this stupid dumb "twist" from the start but didn't think they would have the audacity to actually do it. Am I stupid? Why. - DirectorDermott DownsStarsRuby RoseRachel SkarstenMeagan TandyA new villain sinks her teeth into Gotham; The Hold Up opens in grand fashion; Sophie reluctantly requests that Batwoman keep her distance, know their interactions could undermine her career.9/10
Great cinematography. The season's really picked up pace recently, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. For once, having weekly villains like this actually is really good. I like how they've switched focus from Alice being the main villain to the Face Guy. This gives Alice more content to shine with, as it makes her kind of like a "good guy". Batwoman definitely has its own style which is great and unique. - DirectorMichael C. BlundellStarsRuby RoseRachel SkarstenMeagan TandyA serial slasher targets social media mavens who have undergone plastic surgery, and Batwoman targets the slasher. Mary tries to help her stepsister, and Alice tries to deal with her psychological issues concerning August.7.5/10
