- Although he grew up as the son of a logger in the Sierras, he attended U.C. Berkeley, and even studied under Edward Teller. He eventually became a professor at UCB, and since then has been involved in a great deal of government scientific research (some of which he can't talk about), including being involved in designing the guidance computers for NASA's Apollo moon missions. Bill's combinations of experiences and scientific background give him a great wealth of knowledge that he applies to entertain and inform his audience. It also lands him in the national and world news every now and then. You might recall hearing about when he developed an effective, extremely inexpensive land-mine clearing device around the time of the Iraqi war, called a chain-matrix. Or his designing a way to use surplus railroad flatcars to build emergency freeway bridges in times of earthquakes or floods.

It seems that Brian Donlevy started out life as colorfully as any character he ever played on the stage or screen. He lied about his age (he was actually 14) in 1916 so he could join the army. When Gen. John J. Pershing sent American troops to invade Mexico in pursuit of Pancho Villa--Mexican rebels under Villa's command had raided Columbus, NM, and killed 16 American soldiers and civilians--Donlevy served with that expedition and later, in WW I, was a pilot with the Lafayette Flying Corps, which included the Lafayette Escadrille, a unit of the French Air Force comprised of American and Canadian pilots. His schooling was in Cleveland, OH, but in addition he spent two years at the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD. However, he gave up on a military career for the stage. After having landed several smaller roles, he got a part in "What Price Glory" and established himself as a bona fide actor. Later such roles on stage as "Three for One", "The Milky Way" and "Life Begins at 8:30" gave him the experience to head off to Hollywood. Donlevy began his Hollywood career with the silent film A Man of Quality (1926), and his first talkie was Gentlemen of the Press (1929) (in which he had a bit part). There was a five- to six-year gap before he reappeared on the film scene in 1935 with three pictures: Mary Burns, Fugitive (1935), Another Face (1935) and Barbary Coast (1935), which was his springboard into film history. Receiving rave reviews as "the tough guy all in black", acting jobs finally began to roll his way. In 1936 he starred in seven films, including Strike Me Pink (1936), in which he played the tough guy to Eddie Cantor's sweet bumpkin Eddie Pink. In all, from 1926 to 1969 Donlevy starred in at least 89 films, reprising one of his Broadway roles as a prizefighter in The Milky Way (1940), and had his own television series (which he also produced), Dangerous Assignment (1950). In 1939 he received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of the sadistic Sgt. Markoff in Paramount's Beau Geste (1939), its remake of an earlier silent hit. The Great McGinty (1940), a Preston Sturges comedy about a poor homeless slob who makes it to the governorship of a state with the mob's help, is a brilliant character study of a man and the changes he goes through to please himself, those around him and, eventually, the woman he loves. A line in the film, spoken by Mrs. McGinty, seems a fitting description of the majority of roles Brian Donlevy would play throughout his career: "You're a tough guy, McGinty, not a wrong guy." Donlevy's ability to make the roughest edge of any character have a soft side was his calling card. He perfected it and no one has quite mastered it since. He later, in 1944, reprised that role in The Miracle of Morgan's Creek (1943). By 1935 Donlevy was working for 20th Century-Fox and had just completed filming 36 Hours to Kill (1936) when he became engaged to young singer Marjorie Lane, and they married the next year. The marriage produced one child, Judy, but ended in divorce in 1947. It was 18 years before he remarried again. In 1966, Bela Lugosi's ex-wife Lillian became Mrs. Brian Donlevy, and they were married until his death in 1972. Donlevy had always derived great pleasure from his two diverse interests, gold mining and writing poetry, so it was fitting that after his last film, Pit Stop (1969), he retired to Palm Springs, CA, where he began to write short stories and had his income well supplemented from a prosperous California tungsten mine he owned. Having gone in for throat surgery in 1971 he re-entered the Motion Picture County Hospital in Woodland Hills, CA, on March 10th, 1972. Less than a month later, on April 6, he passed away from cancer.- Composer

Carmen Miranda was born Maria do Carmo Miranda da Cunha on February 9, 1909, near Porto, Portugal, in the town of Marco de Canavezes. Not long after her birth her family moved to Brazil, where her father was involved in the produce business. The family settled in the then-capital city of Rio de Janeiro. ' After leaving school, Carmen got a job at a local store, and often began singing on the job. Before long she was discovered and got a singing job on a local radio station. She ultimately got a recording contract with RCA. By 1928 she was a genuine superstar in Brazil. As with other popular singers of the era, she eventually made her way into the film world. She made her debut in the Brazilian documentary A Voz do Carnaval (1933). Two years later she appeared in her first feature film, Alô, Alô, Brasil (1935).
However. it was Estudantes (1935) that seemed to solidify Carmen in the minds of the Brazilian movie audiences. Now they realized she could act as well as sing. Although there was three years between "Alo, Alo Carnaval" and Banana-da-Terra (1939), Carmen continued to churn out musical hits in Brazil. The latter film would be the last in her home country.
In late 1939 Carmen arrived, with much fanfare in the press, in New York City. She was now ready to capture Americans' hearts with her talent. She appeared in some musical revues on Broadway and, just as everyone thought, was a huge hit. In 1940 Carmen was signed to appear in the Twentieth Century-Fox production Down Argentine Way (1940), with Betty Grable and Don Ameche. The only complaint that critics had was the fact that Carmen was not on the screen enough.
In 1941 she was, again, teamed with Ameche in addition to Alice Faye in That Night in Rio (1941). The film was extremely popular with the theater patrons. Her unique songs went a long way in making her popular. It was after Week-End in Havana (1941) that American cartoon artists began to cash in on Carmen's ever-growing popularity. In the 1930s and 1940s cartoons were sometimes shown as a prelude to whatever feature film was showing. Sure enough, the cartoon version of Carmen came wriggling across the screen, complete with her trademark fruit hat and wide, toothy grin.
In 1942 Carmen starred in Springtime in the Rockies (1942) with Betty Grable and Cesar Romero, both of whom she had worked with before. It was shortly after this that America began adopting her style of dress as the latest fad. 1944 saw her in three films: Something for the Boys (1944), Four Jills in a Jeep (1944) and Greenwich Village (1944). The first two did well at the box-office, but the last one left a lot to be desired. It was her last busy year in film. Carmen made one film each in 1945, '46, '47 and '48. After that she didn't make a film for two years, until Nancy Goes to Rio (1950), a production for MGM. Once again didn't make a film for several years, returning with Scared Stiff (1953).
She did stay busy, singing on the nightclub circuit and appearing on the relatively new medium of television. However, "Scared Stiff" was her final performance on the silver screen. On August 4, 1955, she suffered a heart attack, although she didn't realize it at the time, during a video taping of The Jimmy Durante Show (1954). She went home after attending a party.
Early the next morning, on August 5, Carmen suffered a fatal heart attack. She was just 46 years old. Her body was flown to her adopted country of Brazil, where her death was declared a period of national mourning.- Music Artist

Carole King is an American composer and singer-songwriter.
She is the most successful female songwriter of the latter half of the 20th century in the USA, having written or co-written 118 pop hits on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1955 and 1999. King also wrote 61 hits that charted in the UK, making her the most successful female songwriter on the UK singles charts between 1952 and 2005.
King's career began in the 1960s when she and her first husband, Gerry Goffin, wrote more than two dozen chart hits for numerous artists, many of which have become standards. She has continued writing for other artists since then. King's success as a performer in her own right did not come until the 1970s, when she sang her own songs, accompanying herself on the piano, in a series of albums and concerts. After experiencing commercial disappointment with her debut album 'Writer', King scored her breakthrough with the album 'Tapestry', which topped the U.S. album chart for 15 weeks in 1971 and remained on the charts for more than six years. King has made 25 solo albums, the most successful being 'Tapestry', which held the record for most weeks at No. 1 by a female artist for more than 20 years. Her most recent non-compilation album was 'Live at the Troubadour' in 2010, a collaboration with James Taylor that reached number 4 on the charts in its first week and has sold over 600,000 copies. Her records sales were estimated at more than 75 million copies worldwide.- Actress

Craig Gallivan was born on 9 February 1984 in Swansea, South Wales, where he spent his early years doing what all young Welshmen do...playing rugby. He developed into a very skilful player and at the age of 12 was selected to play for his home City of Swansea and then subsequently, much to the pride of his Mam and Dad, went on to represent West Wales. Later that year though, something would happen that would put Craig on a completely different path.
Craig's younger sister, Hayley, had always attended drama, dance and singing lessons and was part of a small group who were travelling to London and try their luck auditioning for Cameron Macintosh's musical 'Oliver' at the London Palladium. Somewhat reluctantly, Craig was coerced into tagging along to have a go for himself. Several recalls later, Craig was offered a part in the Sam Mendes production and in a matter of weeks was performing on the prestigious West End stage in front of 2000 people alongside Barry Humphries and Jim Dale. When the production was finally over Craig was well and truly hooked and decided to pursue a career in acting.
After studying performing arts at Gorseinon College in Swansea, at the age of 18 Craig was offered a place at world renowned drama school RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) where he trained for 3 years. By this time Craig had already made a number of stage and TV appearances including the BAFTA award winning BBC drama 'Care' (2000). On graduating from RADA Craig was launched into millions of UK homes playing Callum Watson in ITV's hit TV show 'Footballers Wives' (2006). The show has since been shown internationally including throughout America via BBC Worldwide. Craig has gone on to star in numerous theatrical, TV and film productions including leading roles for The Royal Shakespeare Company (2008) and National Theatre (2008) in London, BBC's Dr Who spin-off 'Torchwood' (2009) and as Tony Elliot in the multi Olivier and Tony award winning 'Billy Elliot' (2010), directed by Stephen Daldry, for which he was nominated Best Supporting Actor.
More recently Craig has been starring as Luke Morris in the hit SKY1 comedy-drama 'Stella', created by Ruth Jones. The show ran for 5 seasons winning numerous awards and has been hailed as SKY1's most watched show ever and seen the second-biggest UK comedy launch in multichannel history with its debut in 2012.- Actor

Busy American supporting actor of Italian parentage who was a familiar face on the small screen during the golden years of television. Balduzzi chose his career path while serving in the U.S. Navy. After studying at the Goodman Theatre School of Drama in Chicago he moved to New York and began to act in off-Broadway plays. To make ends meet, he also held a job at Toots Shor's iconic restaurant in Manhattan, a famous meeting place for Hollywood celebrities. A fortuitous encounter with the casting director of The Jackie Gleason Show (1952) led to several gigs on the show from 1957, Balduzzi playing a variety of minor characters, from waiters to elevator operators. It took another seven years and a move to Los Angeles for the actor to secure regular work. From 1964, he was served best by being cast in sitcoms -- helping to enliven, among others, I Dream of Jeannie (1965), Gidget (1965), Bewitched (1964), That Girl (1966) and Barney Miller (1975) --, often as police officers, salesmen or in friendly servile parts. Infrequent offerings in motion pictures included a private soldier in the war picture Kelly's Heroes (1970) (filmed in Yugoslavia), a party guest in Pete 'n' Tillie (1974) and a prisoner in Michael Keaton's zany Johnny Dangerously (1984). Until his retirement from the screen in 1990, Balduzzi supplemented his income by working a variety of other jobs, including as hotel clerks and bellhops (roles he often essayed on TV), short order cooks, as a dance instructor and acting teacher.- Edwin McDonough was born in 1943 in Milton, Massachusetts, USA. Gérard Lenorman is a French singer, songwriter and guitarist. He was born out of wedlock in Calvados (Normandy), the son of a French mother and a German soldier. With a largely absent mother, his early childhood was not a happy one. He spent many months at the L'orphelinat de la charité de Saint Vincent de Paul in Paris.
Musically gifted, Lenorman played harmonium from the age of five (secretly in church) and wrote his first song at twelve. At fourteen, he sang with local orchestras. A factory worker at sixteen, he performed in the evenings at Club Méditerranée. In 1968, he wrote two songs for Brigitte Bardot and the following year went on tour with Sylvie Vartan. In 1970, he played the lead role in the musical Hair on the Paris stage which led to a recording contract with CBS. The early and mid-70s saw him at the peak of his career with the release of several hugely successful chansons, especially De toi and Les Matins d'hiver (1972), Si tu ne me laisses pas tomber (1973), Quelque chose et moi (1974), Voici Les Clés and the lovely ballad Michèle (1976). Lenorman's small stature and unaffected, easy-going style earned him the sobriquet "le Petit Prince de la chanson".
Lenorman won a gold record for his album Nostalgie in 1978. Ten years later, he represented France at the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin with Chanteur de charme, which ended up ranked tenth. His songs have been recorded in English, German, Spanish and Italian. People magazine (Latin Edition) calls Guy Ecker one of Latin America's most beautiful people...for the third time. He's earned two "Best Leading Actor" awards; as well as two people's choice awards. He starred in the Telenovela "Eva Luna," which reached an audience of 9.7 million during the grand finally, and was among the most globally tweeted events during the last televised episode. He also starred in "Vidas Cruzadas," the first of its kind, internet series produced for Univison, reaching 2.5 million views, making it the 2nd most watched project in the network's history.
In addition to Guy's success in the Hispanic Market, his perfect spoken English allowed him to cross back over to the U.S. where he was cast for two seasons on NBC's "Las Vegas," and co-starred in films like "Only the Brave" beside Jeff Fehey, and "Malevolent" with Lou Diamond Phillips.
Guy was born in Brazil, raised in four different Latin American countries, and speaks three languages, fluently. After graduating high school in Rio de Janeiro, Guy moved to the U.S. for the first time, where he attended the University of Texas in Austin, during which time he taught English classes, ballroom dancing, trained horses, and ran his own translation and dubbing company, before landing his first lead in an independent film. A second followed, and after his third, Guy packed up his things and his unknown film career to accept an acting job in South America. He was given the lead role in "Café con aroma de mujer." When "Café" hit the air, not only was it an overwhelming success, but it opened the door to an international market, allowing RCN Television to export a telenovela for the very first time. After receiving offers from various networks Guy went on to sign a contract with Televisa, in Mexico City; where he starred in novelas like: "La Mentira," "Salome," and "Heridas de Amor," which all had the highest ratings in Latin American history, selling to over 90 countries, and in some instances exceeding the ratings of American prime time programing when aired on Univision network.
During this time Cristina Saralegui (the Hispanic Oprah) dedicated two of her one-hour shows "The Cristina Show" to Guy, and chose him to be the first male celebrity to be featured on the cover of "Cristina" magazine. The father's day issue which featured Guy with his 10-month-old son, sold out shortly after hitting stands, forcing the magazine to print a 2nd run. It comes as no surprise that most of Guy's projects have been presold and have generated record-breaking results not only among Hispanics in the U.S. but all around the world.
You can currently see Guy on Telemundo's: "El Senor de Los Cielos" as DEA agent Joe Navarro, and coming this fall: John Morris, in "El Recluso."- Hazal Filiz Küçükköse is a Turkish actress. Heather Grace Angel was born in Oxford, England, on February 9, 1909. She dabbled on the stage for a time before coming to California to try her luck on the screen. - Sometimes the early tragic death of a Hollywood actor can lead to immortality, as in the cases of icons James Dean and Marilyn Monroe--and, to a somewhat lesser extent, little Bobby Driscoll, who died a Skid Row bum in the streets, a victim of drug addiction. Not so for actor James Murray, whose death occurred in a similar fashion to Driscoll. Long forgotten, the young and highly insecure Murray was plucked from obscurity and given the chance of a lifetime, only to crumble ever so quickly.
He was born on February 9, 1901, in the Bronx, NY. After appearing in The Pilgrims (1924), a three-reeler made at Yale University in 1923 in which he played John Alden, he trekked 3000 miles to Hollywood to pursue that elusive Hollywood dream. On the road west, he lived a simple, rather nomadic existence as a dishwasher, coal-shoveler and boxcar rider. John started off as most do in L.A.--taking bit parts and extra work, waiting for that big break. Director King Vidor was looking to cast the somber hero of his next silent picture, The Crowd (1928). He spotted Murray, who was working as an extra at MGM, near the studio casting office and arranged a meeting with him. Murray didn't show up, either not taking the director seriously or not believing that Vidor was, in fact, King Vidor. Murray was hunted down, given a screen test and the novice actor was hired on the spot, considered by both Vidor and MGM executive Irving Thalberg to be one of the best natural actors they had ever had the good fortune to encounter. As John Sims, a common everyday kind of family man just trying to survive the game of life, Murray was frighteningly real and heart-wrenching, carrying the hugely demanding role without a hitch. He so invested himself in the part that many feel he never shook off the depressing character. The film was judged too heavy and raw for audiences to escape in, but the critics were enamored of the film and, especially Murray, and today it is considered a major masterpiece.
Murray managed to turn in solid work in the next few years, never matching his excellence in "The Crowd" but certainly turning in credible performances. Such films as The Big City (1928) with Lon Chaney, Thunder (1929)--also with Chaney--The Shakedown (1929), Bachelor Mother (1932) and Heroes for Sale (1933) served him well.
Too much too soon, perhaps, for he was ill-prepared to handle the daily pressures of stardom and his inner demons quickly took over. He turned to the bottle for solace and release. By the early 1930s he was a chronic alcoholic who could barely hold down an acting job. He turned into a derelict, living on the streets and begging for change.
By coincidence, he tried to panhandle Vidor in 1934, who offered him an acting job in his next film, Our Daily Bread (1934), but the actor vehemently refused to accept any charity. In 1936 Murray's body was fished out of the Hudson River, having drowned after either jumping from, falling from--or being thrown off of--a pier. He was only 35. Vidor was so haunted by Murray's tragic death that it provided the basis for a script he wrote which the director hoped would turn into a film called "The Actor" in 1979. Unfortunately, the project never got off the ground. - Actress

This alert and classy actress seemed poised for Hollywood stardom in the early 1970s. Although it wasn't meant to be, Janet Suzman has remained one of the more respected classical stage players of her time. Born in 1939, she was raised in a staunchly liberal household in South Africa at a time when the country was moving toward the formal racial discrimination of apartheid. Suzman studied languages at the multi-racial Witwatersrand University in the late 1950s and was an active member of the drama society. She left South Africa during the height of her country's oppression, and moved to England in 1959.
Making her professional stage debut with "Billy Liar" in 1962, she almost immediately joined the Royal Shakespeare Company and received rave notices for her Joan of Arc in "The War of the Roses." She made her official London debut in a production of "A Comedy of Errors" in 1963. In the ensuing years Janet built up an impressive classical resumé portraying most of Shakespeare's illustrious heroines including Rosalind, Portia, Ophelia, Beatrice and the shrewish Kate. She also appeared in several BBC-TV versions of the classics.
In 1969 she married director Trevor Nunn and together they collaborated on some of England's finest stage productions during the early 1970s, notably "Antony and Cleopatra" (1972), "Titus Andronicus" (1972) and "Hello and Goodbye" (1973), which won Suzman the Evening Standard award. She won a second for her role of Masha in the 1976 production of Chekhov's "The Three Sisters." They had a son, Joshua, before they divorced in the 1980s. Later work included notable roles in "She Stoops to Conquer," "The Good Woman of Setzuan" and her "Hedda Gabler."
In the early 1970s she branched out into films. Following an auspicious turn in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg (1972), she won the coveted role of Czarina Alexandra in the florid historical piece Nicholas and Alexandra (1971) co-starring Michael Jayston, in which she enjoyed a sterling British cast in support - including Harry Andrews, Jack Hawkins, Ian Holm, John McEnery, Laurence Olivier and Michael Redgrave. Suzman received an Oscar nomination for her performance, and bigger things seemed inevitable. She went on to grace a number of films, including Voyage of the Damned (1976), Nijinsky (1980) and Priest of Love (1981).
In a reprise of her real life family's activism, Suzman co-starred in the anti-apartheid film A Dry White Season (1989) portraying the wife of the Donald Sutherland character. The cast included other progressive activists such as Susan Sarandon and Marlon Brando (who received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor). In a change-of-pace role, she played a Mother Superior in the hysterical farce Nuns on the Run (1990).
In the 1980s Suzman was inspired to direct and coach. She was a visiting professor of drama at Westfield College, London, and later returned to South Africa to provide multi-ethnic castings in versions of Shakespearean plays. Making her directing bow in a production of "Othello" at the Market Theatre in 1987, some of her more notable assignments included "Death of a Salesman" (1992) and a reworked politicized version of Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard" set in South Africa, titled "The Free State" (1997). In 2002 she returned to the RSC to perform in "The Hollow Crown," and most recently appeared in a London production of "Whose Life Is It Anyway?" (2005) starring Kim Cattrall.
Into the millennium, other than a couple of films such as Max (2002) and Felix (2013), Suzman appeared primarily on the smaller screen in such TV series as Tinga Tinga Tales (2010) (as the voice of the Ostrich) and Sinbad (2012), and a role in the mini-series Labyrinth (2012).- Janis Wilson was born on 9 February 1930 in Santa Barbara, California, USA. She was an actress, known for The Strange Love of Martha Ivers (1946), Watch on the Rhine (1943) and My Reputation (1946). She was married to Sidney Victor Petertyl. After the interviews, they both asked her to pose for them. That meeting led to the beginning of her career as an art model for comics, fantasy, pinup art, and romance novels. She was most notably was Joe Jusko's Tomb Raider model for Top Cow comics for several years and featured on the cover of Heavy Metal Magazine in August 2003 and Heavy Metal Calendars by Greg Hildebrandt in 2005/2006. She has modeled for over 300 paintings thus far. Though she loved modeling and acting in B- horror movies, Jasi felt something was missing. Upon closer examination she came to realize that her true passion was to become a stuntwoman. Inspired by her Uncle Dusty who performed in live stunt shows in the 60s/70s and several articles about stuntwomen in the magazine Femme Fatales, Jasi set out to become a stuntwoman. She worked a few years dabbling in stunts in independent movies and industrials. In June of 2005, with the blessing of her family and friends made the big move to Los Angeles. At first she was overwhelmed by the city, but quickly embraced all that the Los Angeles had to offer. She did background work and got her SAG card being featured on 2 1/2 Men. Jasi then joined a stunt service and started training at the famed Bob Yerkes backyard in the art of high falls, fights, swords and reactions. She got her first opportunity there by Stuntman/ Stunt Coordinator John Moio who saw her sword fighting. He recommended her for a job on the show iCarly doubling a 14-year boy for stunt coordinator, Vince Deadrick Jr. She had all weekend to practice sword-fighting left handed for an audition on Monday. With the help of her friend, and stuntman, Mario Perez, she trained all weekend, day and night, for her audition. On Monday, she showed up and she booked the job on the iFence episode of iCarly doubling actor Nathan Kress She continues to work on iCarly now doubling actress, Jennette McCurdy for the past 4 years. Jasi continued to train and booked a few jobs while also supplementing her income as a set decorator. In 2010, she decided to commit to stunts full time and it paid off. Jasi has worked on shows such as Alice in Wonderland, Castle, Raising Hope, Vampire Diaries, and Criminal Minds. While continuing to work in stunts, Jasi is making a resurgence to acting appearing recently in the short film Broken and being featured on all female "Jack Ass" style stunt show called Cherry Bombs affectionately known as Firecracker. This fall, she will again be modeling for artists such as Mike James, Greg Hildebrandt, Guy Powers, Age and Lorenzo Sperlonga. Her love for stunts has driven her to serve her community. She has volunteered and served as a department head for Stuntacular, a live Halloween stunt show that is a fundraiser for Make a Wish. Jasi is served as an assistant board member for Diamond in the Raw/ Stuntwomen's Awards and secretary for the Stuntwomen's Foundation. She continues to train Kung fu and will be testing black sash in 2012, weapons, swords, acrobatics, boxing, and stunts. She is a certified PADI Rescue Diver and is adding stilt walking and fire staff to her skills set. Jasi enjoys roller-skating, tai chi, hula hooping, rock climbing, rappelling, and hiking in her free time. Her life philosophy comes from her father who taught her to collect experiences.- Actor

Compact Italian-American actor Joe Pesci was born February 9, 1943 in Newark, New Jersey, to Mary (Mesce), a part-time barber, and Angelo Pesci, a bartender and forklift driver. Pesci first broke into entertainment as a child actor, and by the mid-1950s, was starring on the series "Star Time Kids". In the mid-1960s, he released a record under the stage name Joe Ritchie titled "Little Joe Sure Can Sing", and was also playing guitar with several bands, including Joey Dee and The Starliters. He even joined with his friend Frank Vincent to start a vaudeville-style comedy act, but met with limited success (interestingly, Pesci and Vincent would later go on to co-star in several gangster films together, including Goodfellas (1990) and Casino (1995).
Pesci's first film role was as an uncredited dancer in Hey, Let's Twist! (1961) and then he had to wait another 15 years for a minor role in The Death Collector (1976). His work in the second film was seen by Robert De Niro, who convinced director Martin Scorsese to cast him as Joey LaMotta in the epic boxing film Raging Bull (1980), which really got him noticed in Hollywood. He played opposite Rodney Dangerfield in Easy Money (1983), was with buddy DeNiro again in Once Upon a Time in America (1984), nearly stole the show as con man Leo Getz in Lethal Weapon 2 (1989) and scored a Best Supporting Actor Oscar playing the psychotic Tommy DeVito in Goodfellas (1990).
His comedic talents shone again in the mega-popular Home Alone (1990), and he put in a terrific performance as co-conspirator David Ferrie in JFK (1991). Pesci was back again as Leo Getz for Lethal Weapon 3 (1992), and was still a bumbling crook in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), and had a minor role in the Robert De Niro-directed A Bronx Tale (1993). He was lured back by Scorsese to play another deranged gangster named Nicky (based on real-life hood Tony Spilotro [aka "The Ant"]) in the violent Casino (1995), and starred in the comedies 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag (1997) and Gone Fishin' (1997), although both failed to fire at the box office.
Pesci returned again as fast-talking con man Leo Getz in Lethal Weapon 4 (1998). In 1999, he announced his retirement from acting and since then, he appeared only occasionally in films, including a cameo appearance in The Good Shepherd (2006). He also appeared in the music documentary I Go Back Home: Jimmy Scott (2016).- Juan Alfonso was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Tony Award and Emmy Award winner Judith Light made her professional stage debut in 1970 and made her Broadway debut in the 1975 revival of A Doll's House starring Liv Ullmann and Sam Waterston. She made her television breakthrough in the daytime soap opera One Life to Live (1968). She assumed the role of Karen Woleck (originated by Kathryn Breech (1976-77), and for a brief period, replaced by Julia Duffy (1977)). Light's extensive theater experience added multidimensional facets to the character, and the performance earned the actress two consecutive Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Light departed from her character in 1983 - to star in ABC's new prime-time sitcom Who's the Boss? (1984) - the role of Karen Woleck was not recast, instead, she departs for an off-screen life in Canada, coinciding with Light's departure from the series. After Light's success on daytime, she landed the leading role of assertive advertising executive Angela Bower on the ABC sitcom Who's the Boss? (1984). The actress co-starred with Tony Danza, who played her housekeeper (and eventual lover). Also featured were Alyssa Milano, Danny Pintauro and Katherine Helmond. The series ran for eight seasons and had constant success. Light also lent her craft to the short lived sitcoms Phenom (1993) and The Simple Life (2003), and several made-for-TV productions, including the biographical drama The Ryan White Story (1989) (in which she portrayed Jeanne White, the mother of HIV/AIDS positive teenager Ryan White); the actress also portrayed Alabama murderer Audrey Marie Hilley in Wife, Mother, Murderer (1991).
In 1999, Light returned to her theater roots for the off-Broadway production of Pulitzer Prize-winning play Wit (2001); the actress received rave reviews as a college professor battling ovarian cancer-and reprised the role for the national tour. Light returned to television in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999); the actress assumed the recurring role of Judge Elizabeth Connelly, making her first appearance during the third season episode Guilt (2002), which was broadcast on March 29, 2009. The character appeared in 25 more episodes of the series, making her last appearance in season 12 episode Behave (2010). Light also appeared in the ABC comedy-drama Ugly Betty (2006), in which Light's performance as the recurring Claire Meade resulted in a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. In 2014, she began starring as Shelly Pfefferman in the critically acclaimed Amazon Studios dark comedy-drama series Transparent (2014), for which she received Golden Globe, Primetime Emmy, and Critics' Choice Television Award nominations.- Actress

Kathryn Grayson was born Zelma Kathryn Elisabeth Hedrick in Winston-Salem, NC, on February 9, 1922. This pretty, petite brunette with a heart-shaped face was discovered by MGM talent scouts while singing on the radio. The studio quickly signed her to a contract, and she was given acting lessons along and had to pose for countless publicity photos. Kathryn, a coloratura soprano, made her first film in 1941, a "B" picture called Andy Hardy's Private Secretary (1941). She soon was cast opposite some of MGM's top musical stars of the 1940s, such as Gene Kelly and Mario Lanza. She was paired with Lanza a few times, but the two never got along due mostly to Lanza's hot temper and alcohol abuse. The pairing of Lanza and Grayson would never match the success of lyrical soprano Jeanette MacDonald and baritone Nelson Eddy, although Kathryn and MacDonald did become great friends. Jeanette became a mentor and an older sister figure for Kathryn.
Grayson's most memorable roles came in the early 1950s. They were Show Boat (1951), where she played "Magnolia", opposite Ava Gardner and Howard Keel; Kiss Me Kate (1953), playing actress "Lilli Vanessi", who portrayed "Katherine" in the movie's "show within a show", a musical version of "The Taming of the Shrew". In 1953 she exited MGM, then made only one more film, The Vagabond King (1956), at Paramount. She later worked in nightclubs and on stage.- Actress

Lola Le Lann was born into an artistic family. Her father is the famous trumpeter, Eric Lelann , and her mother is the actress and filmmaker, Valérie Stroh.
She appeared in her first film at 19 years old, playing the main role in One Wild Moment (2015). In the film she plays Louna, a 17 year old who falls for her best friend's father, who is also her father's best friend, when the four of them are on holiday together in Corsica.- Lolo Ferrari, born Eve Valois, was famous for having undergone more plastic surgery than any other porn star. She had her face lifted, her eyes reshaped, her lips thickened and, most famously, a series of silicone injections ballooned her breasts out to 71 inches, and a record-setting (according to the Guinness Book of World Records) weight of 26 pounds. She was on record as saying that the main reason she had so much transforming surgery was that her mother had continually told her, from childhood, that she was ugly, repulsive and stupid and that no man would ever want her. She proved her mother wrong, to a degree, as she became one of the hottest porn stars in Europe, renowned for her willingness to do just about anything with just about anybody (or just about any number of bodies). In addition to her fame as a porn star in Europe, she also made numerous appearances in nightclubs and on late-night TV and even released a single called "Air Bag Generation". While she hadn't had much exposure in the US, plans were underway for her entry into that market when she was found dead on March 5, 2000, by her husband in their French Riviera home. It was known that she suffered from chronic depression, and her husband stated that not long before her death she had visited a funeral home inquiring about arrangements.
An autopsy showed that she had died of an overdose of prescribed anti-depressant drugs, but further investigation by police scientists revealed that she died of suffocation. Shortly afterwards her husband was arrested on charges of failing to prevent her death. A second medical analysis was conducted in 2007,and he was finally cleared of the charges leveled against him.
